    Will this work for binoculars or spotting scope? Not intrerested in the camera aspect.

    thanks for review. Although wouldn't hurt to show the tripod itself a few more times. I wanted to get a sense of the dimensions

    Hi just saw this video. I have this tripod and i'm looking for an l-bracket for the purpose of doing vertical shots but i'm failing to see how and l-bracket can actually be attached to this tripod. Do you have any advice on this?

    Thanks for the review. My quick release knob is so loose my camera wobbles. How did you tighten it?

    Good review. I agree with all your points but I must add from my experience that the pan lock function is a total fail. On mine, I find when locked in pan mode there is far too much play. Approx 4 to 5 degrees of wobble in the supposedly locked mode. If it is tightened to remove the play it is impossible to do a smooth pan and you just end up jerking the camera to pan. Its a disappointment considering it comes from Manfrotto where quality is generally in the higher end for their products. As a ball head still camera tripod it ticks all the boxes and would highly reccommend it as a lightweight travel tripod. If its being considered for use as a Video tripod I would give it a miss and look around for something else if you want a useable pan function. FYI I tried it for stills with my Leica 100-400 on Pani GX85 and was pleasently surprised that it held the weight ok with a tiny bit of initial droop when firmly locked. P.S....luvved the magic transition from heavy tripod to light on....lol

      I agree that the panning motion is very jerky, but if you're fine with static shots in your video I'd still recommend it to videographers. Getting a true fluid head is going to cost you at least twice as much in terms of weight.

    Cool video, I just have a question... the thing is that I used this tripod on the beach and the sand got stock inside the legs, do you know how to disassemble it.???? Thanks man!

    can you interchange the head of the tripod? I dont really like the mounting because the little screw is very easy to lose.

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  5 років тому

      The default head doesn't come off, but you could potentially mount a tripod head on the existing one.

    If you are thinking of selling this product please let me know, they apparently discontinued the production for this particular color. Thanks!

      The white was a limited edition run on massdrop.com. It's possible they may do a run of it again, and you can request it on their website.

    Would this be strong enough to hold a canon 80d ?

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  7 років тому +1

      Yes, the tripod should be plenty strong enough.

    If you wanted could you put on a fluid head or is that not possible

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  7 років тому

      It's certainly possible, but it would add quite a bit of bulk, which defeats the purpose of this tripod in my opinion.

      Tall Guy Films how do you unscrew the starter head

    I have this tripod, but the only thing that bugs me is that you can't take the head off of the tripod to use it on another tripod frame.

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  6 років тому

      Agreed, it would be nice since the head is such a good ball head.

    Can it be tilt for over the table shots ?

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  5 років тому

      The tripod will tilt pretty far down, but not directly down without modifying the tripod.

    "Compact"? HELL NO! Compact tripods, when folded, should fit in your backpack. Thank you for the review though :)

      Haha, you just need a big enough backpack.

    Is it me or is there no way to take a vertical shot using the swivel head? thanks

    • @AlteraSound
      @AlteraSound  7 років тому +1

      The head doesn't tilt 90 degrees sideways, but you can get vertical shots by mounting the camera sideways and tilting the head forwards.
