Missed a good one:
“I’m not questioning your honor, I’m denying it’s existence.”
I love that one.
Yeah, that was a good one.
“I am the god of tits and wine”
You think i'll stand here and take this from you DWARF?
aaa
See how his wit and dialogues reduce in the later couple of seasons. Miss the old Tyrion
I think that was intended. The show, as it progresses, takes away the Lannister's children greatest atributes.
Jamie, one of the greatest fighters in Westeros, lost his sword hand.
Cersei, despite all her flaws, loves her children with all her heart, if she even has one. Now, all three of her children are dead.
Tyrion, lastly, what lacked in stature and fighting skills, filled in with his wisdom and knowledge. As the show progresses, you could see how the enviroments he's been in slowly degraded him in an intelectual way.
@@dukatelon9040 or maybe it's because the writers can't do anything smart and interesting without Martin and his books
Актан Курмангалиев I’d honestly fault that more to Martin than the writers. They went almost five seasons without having to come up with new plotlines and suddenly they’ve run out because it’s taken their author more than ten years to continue the source material.
@@chloecohn2335 They could've easily split each book after "Game of Thrones" into two.
Zod's Snapped Neck that would’ve made the show less appealing, idk why they would do that, I also don’t think they could have known Martin was planning on never finishing any books
Cersei-"You´re a clever man , but you´re not half as clever as you think"
Tyrion- "Still makes me more clever than you"
i believe it's "still makes me twice clever than you"
It's "what makes me twice as clever then you" big difference. Tyrion meant that cersei underestimates him and it was clever of him to let everyone believe he was not that clever

About time someone debated this line
"Try the boar; Cersei can't get enough of it since one killed Robert for her." 😆
I don't get this one. Is this just exactly as it says? Because it seems to imply Cercei is banging someone with a Boar sigil but not really. Just seems to say that Cercei likes eating boar because a boar killed Robert.
IIRC that was from the book, literally.
My god. I have the flu currently and when that came up i chuckled so hard my head hurt

Yet you laughed in both cases.
Just realized: when Tyrion struck Joffrey during the Kings Landing riots he was the acting Hand of the King.
The King slapped by the King's Hand. All is right in the world.
Fitting, since Joffrey fucked himself by being such a loathsome bastard and making so many errors.
Tyrion: 'Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?'
Tyrion slapped him with his right hand. All is right indeed

@Phellype Miranda Ironically being sexually active actually decreases mental focus, supposedly.

Joffrey’s reaction is amazing 😂
Hes a great actor
"Say something! ...Anyone?"
One of the few moments where Charles Dance had to look at Tyrion with an approving look. Maybe the only one!
The fact the he looked at tywin.... when he said that showed so well where the true power stood in that room. But.... details like this are unfortunately gone.
Honestly a big part of that was Joffrey's Actor, he's absolutely amazing. He did great as Joffrey.
Tyrion smacking Joffrey is by far the most satisfying moment in GoT
when littlefinger died was mine coz he pretty much started it all
Cersi and Tyrion had an odd dynamic. For people that hated each other they spent a shitload of time together. They actually had really good chemistry.
So does Jamie and Tyrion. The time they're onscreen together are very little (season 4, season 8, and briefly on season 1 and 7) but it felt like we are already very familliar with their relationship
They hated each other, but they were still family.
In fact, I think the only Lannister who didn't hate Tyrion was Jaime. And their mother, I guess, but she died in childbirth, so he never knew that love.
Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage are good friends IRL, even from before GoT. He was the one who suggested she be cast in the role of Cersi, even. I feel like that probably comes through in their interactions some.
His intelligence was a small sense of consolation to her that he was her family.
They could rule the world together

Alternate title: a reminder of how brilliant Tyrion used to be before D&D were solely responsible for him
Yes. You can call the old man all the names you want, you can be angry because he writes so slow. But I rather have a slowly written story and quality over a story on demand where things get rushed in hollywood style.
While I agree the writing and directing has taken a turn for the worse, I can't for the life of me see why people find it so important to just jump on the bandwaggon and hate every single thing about the show now? Tyrions arc is really good, as all the fundamental truths of the world he lives in change and change again he simply can't keep up, I think that's really a rather nice character journey.
Character don't need to win or be awesome all the time to be interesting, Tyrion is still interesting because of his failings imho (all though some seem to be rather heavy-handedly forced upon him ^^).
@@Micras08 it's a shame really. While like you I definitely have my complaints, it seems people are so obsessed with pointing out the negatives that can't see any of the positives anymore.
What's worse is if you or I still find qualities in the show we are deemed as casuals or simpletons that dont know what good writing is if it hit us in the face.
I feel bad for everyone who absolutely shits on the show now and can't enjoy it. Even though yes, it's not as good as previous seasons.
I have noticed that he used to be fairly witty and profound but now he's more of a sitcom wisecrack.
Its not really about jumping on a bandwagon, I noticed this issue in season 7.
The fact of the matter is that its not just Tyrion.
Do you know the difference between a superhero movie and GOT?
Thats very much why I avoid Super Hero movies. GOT is turning into one.
You have so many characters that were super smart but now make the dumbest mistakes, take the 2nd dragon dying, D&D said "Dany forgot about the Iron Fleet" as reasoning in their after show.
Yet the Iron Fleet only gets mentioned a million times, infact it got mentioned in that very episode.
Up High they should have seen them.
Or Little Finger, he was one of the smartest men in Westeros, if not the smartest.
Yet he dies that easily, he could have easily asked for a trial by combat. Yes I know Arya exists but this is also a part of the show that makes 0 sense, Arya never finished her training and she trained in assassination, not in 1v1 fighting.
And many more.
There are tons of issues like this where characters are suddenly retardidly dumb and its unbearable to watch.
GoTs writing has turned into that of a Superhero Movie, where people die cause of the dumbest mistakes that are so very unlike how they acted when it was still going after the books.
One of my favourite Tyrion quotes is missing " here's the proud Lannister children. One dwarf, one cripple and one mother of madness.

If Tyrion is allowed to discipline Joffrey from young, he might turn out fine. Might not be good, but way less vicious
@Susan Cole That's because Joffrey was the heir "destined" to become the next King. Myrcella and Tommen weren't spoiled growing up.

I'm not going to lie. I was hoping he would win the crown somehow
The Irishpanic, in a way, he kinda did. I felt like it mirrored how Tywin ruled the seven kingdoms as Hand of the King for Aerys, only that Tyrion went into it with far more humility and wisdom, realizing that he didn’t have all the answers.

It doesn’t sound like a British one, it suits him though. But you can tell listen how he says words like “stand”. Etc
4:44 Varys subtly grinning at Tyrion's comments makes me smile
My God this is a totally different Tyrion than the one we have now, it's jarring how different.
I'm not questioning your honor, I'm denying it's existence.
"it's all fallen on me"
"as has jaime repeatedly according to stannis baratheon"
".....you're funny"
ok but ngl that was really good lol
Good god Tyrion was an amazingly sarcastic little shit in seasons 1-4. Hilarious too. You can tell that things started to go downhill pretty much from season 5, even in this video. I don't think I laughed once from about 7 minutes in. His wit died as soon as D&D started ignoring his book material.
Also throwing this out there - the fact that "I drink and I know things" has become his most well known quote is really fucking sad, he's got SO MANY amazing lines and thats not one of them.
its bc its “haha quirky and relatable” and can fit on tshirts
Why no season 8 moments? Oh, that’s right...
It's sad really
Tyrion and Jaime is from season 8.
I think I loved him the most in season 2. It was amazing to see him outwit everybody ... until Blackwater, of course.
"sometimes possession is an abstract concept"
"I drink and I know things" is the true turning point in dialogue quality
love how you kept in the reactions after the roast lines hahaha
Tyrion’s roasts burn hotter than dragonfire
This video hurts my heart. Tyrion has always been my favourite character. It's awful to see what Benioff and Weiss have done to this character. Even the rare nuggets in later seasons like "It's what I do, I drink and I know things" was an episode written by Dan Hill.
I almost forgot how much I loved Tyrion and how clever he was.
Don’t blame me, season 8 is just a whole ‘nother deal
The writing was amazing in the first few seasons.
I MISS THIS TYRION!!!!!
