@@BrothaontheGo Ontario. I had a tough time with racism growing up in small town Ontario, it was pretty bad.. lots of fights. So I moved to Toronto after high school. Never had an issue here.. just expensive! Eventually I drove across Canada from Alberta to Ontario and I saw more diversity than I had anticipated, and a lot of good hearted people who helped me on the way. It's a beautiful country. Lived in Nashville my entire life. Born and raised. Amazing people and amazing spot to grow up. We call ATX our brother/sister city because the demographics of the towns are so similar in nature with the river downtown and the music scene. I have been to Austin many times. I like it more for many reasons. Austin is more outdoorsy, the weather year around is more favorable than Nashville’s spring of deception. You can swim in the Colorado river and in Barton Springs. You can’t swim in the Cumberland or the Harpeth, it’s disgusting. The one thing that is horrible about Austin is there transportation and interstate system is one of the worst I have ever seen. Whoever designed it did a bad job. Nashvilles is much better and has progressed more. The traffic is worse in Austin. That being said, you pick your poison. Pro’s and Con’s to both towns. As far as food goes, ATX makes Nashville look like a joke. We are bad when it comes to Mexican, but we are the kings of hot chicken. As far as people go, Nashville is getting really boujee and attracting a lot of douchie influencers from all over. It’s getting old. ATX still has its western cowboy hippie flavor but Nashville is not the same as it used to be. There used to be a lot more authenticity. Turning into southern bro country with everyone moving in from LA and NYC. People trying to become Luke Bryan and Taylor Swift and shit. It’s a joke.
I love Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area and would really like to move back there someday. I live in Vermont now and it's lovely in many ways but considerably quiet and rural with very, very long winters. Tennessee, especially from Nashville eastward has beautiful scenery, waterfalls, hills, mountains and places to hike ... and more days in the year good for hiking. I did live in Dallas for four years and, while there are many positives about Texas, I like nature a lot and over all prefer Tennessee.
Honestly the rate in which Austin is growing, I’m so tired of it here and it’s only gonna get worse. Was seriously considering Nashville as a new home.
Hey Daniel! If you are considering the Nashville area, you should know it may be the next city to have a huge population growth. I went to Tennessee twice in 2020 and things are changing and growing there rapidly. There are some really great suburbs of Nashville that are really worth checking out. Good luck with your decision on whether/where to move. Take care!
@@BrothaontheGo Nashville is almost twice as large as Austin in terms of land area so increased population in the Nashville area is probably less noticeable than in Austin. Nashville's city population is also more than 200,000 people lower than Austin so it would take a ton of growth for Nashville to catch up to Austin in population
If your leaving Austin for a better place to live, do not move to Nashville. Nashville is a Very Liberal City like Austin. High Crime Rate and High Homeless Population with Social Justice System.
I’m from Nashville and work downtown in the hospitality Industry , ever weekend thousands flock here from all over the Country the get the experience there city does not offer I guess ( there words ) we have big events all the time and I’m pretty sure from what a lot of ppl say Nashville brings in more money then any other city around us due to the tourist Industry we have here , and every time I turn around and ask someone where there from they just moved here from somewhere else mostly out west or northern ppl ! I do think Austin sounds really nice and a lot like Nashville so I agree with you there but if you like the rolling hills and not to far from the mountains then Nashville has that to offer for sure , I also think it’s pretty diverse too anyways TFS it was a great video 😊
I always felt like Austin is a cool town but almost tries too hard? It tries so hard to have a music identity and be one of those ‘weird’ cities. Nashville on the other hand has more of an organic history with music (I love old country, hate todays stuff) which gives it that authentic charm. Just my opinion!
I feel like you are right. Some places try too hard with certain things, but you are definitely right about Country Music. I like the 90s and 2000s a lot more than this stuff today. Are you from one of these areas or somewhere else?

Nashville has grown too fast and is experiencing many problems like not having our trash picked up for two weeks. Water pressure issues have led to almost every house on our street having to have our yards dug up to repair broken pipes. Where I live in Hillwood, there are no remaining lots for building, so houses are being sold and then demolished, and in their place, mini-hotels are built at 4 or 5 times the price of the former house. For example, a house recently sold for $780K and was paid out in cash to the owner. The house was torn down on a Tuesday morning, and by the following Monday, the new footings were being dug. At the moment, the construction has reached the point where the foundation is up and the floors and studs are going up, and the house is already sold for $3.1 million to a family in Santa Barbara, CA. The realtor is my cousin. She sold the house only by posting a picture of the lot and plans on a UA-cam site, and it was purchased two days later. And, just this week, two more houses on this same street were demolished.
Hey Eagle, good to see you again! Wow, that is really tough. I have to say I personally would pick Dallas or Tampa, because I am a baby for cold weather. They all have some great opportunities though. It really depends on what you are looking for.
