Chances are, you have heard the word “matrices” in a movie.
But do you know what they are or what they are used for?
Well, “matrices” is plural of a “matrix”.
And you can think about a matrix as just a table of numbers, and that’s actually all it is. In other words, we can see it as an arrangement of numbers in columns and rows. They are the ones with square brackets around them. Matrices are used in many fields, ranging from linear equations to computer graphics used to make this video, for example!

NOTE: at 1:56 the matrix element should be b3,3 (as it's in row 3, column 3). And at 2:29 d3,5 is indeed 24, but the wrong '24' is shown in the matrix.

@1:58, should that not read "b 3,3", as element 1 is in row 3 column 3?

You are right! We'll have to fix that. Thanks for noticing 👍

Wouldn't the example at 1:58 be b3,3? I'm seeing it in the 3rd row and 3rd column.

Never watch this on a smart TV with your kid who you're trying to introduce matrices to. Can't sew the comments, and two parts in there, during the part where your brain is first imprinting this information on......and they are wrong. Now, I have to both convince her now of how you're wrong and I'm right because I'm not the "authority" on the matter.
A simple "oops" in the comments section is about as lazy as it gets. Seriously, if you are putting math videos up for people to learn and pass on knowledge, you need to take the time to fix this video.
