Indeed it’s everyone’s opinion that your voice, your content your length of videos and your choice of background music pretty much everything about these videos, freaking kick ass
Beholders are from the Great Mother, who resides in the Realm of a Million Eyes. Due to how the Beholders exist, creating the reality around its immediate reality from its thoughts and dreams (none being the surface thoughts), the Great Mother would be one who is perpetually dreaming. She creates reality through her dreams, but only through those who are part of her, or worship her. This is why Beholders should have a book unto themselves, much as the Draconomicon is, and was, for Dragons. All Beholders should be unique, with a list of things they can typically do, but with variations. They should never be just 'generic' enemies. They might have some stalks that are the same as others... but always should have some that are 100% unique to them, or at least rarely found among others of their species. They dream things into reality, too. This means a Beholder 'boss' who fights the party, but manages to live, could dream themselves into being stronger, or weaker even, than they used to be. Perhaps the next time they meet them, they are MORE effective with fire (the Beholder got the 'yips' basically, but they are also 2x worse with fire attacks against the party). But, also just as likely, the Beholder no longer has that weakness, but has another instead. Dreams either bolster, or worsen things. I DM'd for around 3 decades... but life ended up destroying that. I'd love to run again, at least one more time. It was probably the best part of my life's efforts aside from children. To have one more chance at it... I spent so long, so much, to that end. Sorry for tangential arc...
@@Lorebrary_EG I'd love that '2nd chance'... But, I only ever had 1 TPK, and it was the last time I ran. So, I have the yips, badly. I ran from when I was ~6 years old until I was ~36. Players would constantly ask me if I was going to run again. My players in the Army asked if I could find a way to run even after leaving the military, Even though this was back in 1998, when the internet wasn't exactly great yet. D&D, and games in general, were my main purpose in life, honestly. So, yes... being able to spread my games, my dreams, my everything... beyond those I grew up with? Priceless.
Just found your channel and this is absolutely awesome! The music, the writing, your delivery, and the lore itself add up to an amazing video. Subscribed immediately, keep up the good work! Edit: just realized what this reminded me of, I think you have a pretty similar vibe to vaatividya’s lore videos on the soulsborne games. And if you somehow don’t know who that is that’s a very good thing.
I have to ask since your poping these good videos out really quickly, is this AI generated, or have you been preparing to start this channel for the last year?
Hey great question, I write the content and research. Part of the reason I started the channel is because I love reading and writing. Stitching together stories is something I’ve learnt to do quickly from being a dm. I also have experience in my other job creating videos and content for Airports. As I’m a planner and engineer, so I feel at home within the video space. Great Question!
Me: "Hey man have you ever thought of deep dive into iconic mons..." You: Hold my beer! Jones aside I am thoroughly enjoying these deep dive vids. Please keep them up! I do need to yo ask though, did tou use the 2e books on Illithids and Beholders for their digestive and biological information?
That was discussed in the video, they are and that topic is a section with the video! Beholders were originally created from the great mother. They want to be seen in her image.
Out of curiosity, if a hive of beholders existed where one dominant beholder keeps the others subservient by blinding their central eyes and removing unwanted eye stalks that don't meet the ruler's needs. How much of a c.r. drop would the subservient ones get? To let the party start to understand what they were dealing with before confronting the hive as a whole.
Indeed it’s everyone’s opinion that your voice, your content your length of videos and your choice of background music pretty much everything about these videos, freaking kick ass
There is a familiarity of your voice that leads me to wonder if you have other channels 🤔 swear I’ve heard it before ……
Cheers MDDG!

Exactly, so many monsters to take a look at!
I actually used the 3rd edition mainly. Great lore in there.
Awesome channel
Appreciate it PD614!
Doesn’t really fit that there would be a great mother, or that they would consider any other beholder the perfect beholder.
Wait… I thought beholders were created as a living beholder dreams of another beholder?
That was discussed in the video, they are and that topic is a section with the video! Beholders were originally created from the great mother. They want to be seen in her image.
Beholder in my Top 5.
Hey Pando What’s no. 1?

You could look at beholderkin initially, might give them a taste of what they might be in for
So do beholders sorta remind anyone else of an angler fish?
pufferfish?
Sooooo, they're Daleks?
Brilliant
Please stop the rain and snow effects.
