This all well and good but the one Major thing you are missing out on is that it is best to buy A HIGH ENDURANCE Memory card. A high-endurance card, designed especially for heavy use and write-intensive applications, is critical in dash cam usage. Over time, a dash cam will write and rewrite hundreds, if not, thousands of times. High-endurance microSD cards are engineered for this and for use in harsh conditions such as leaving your car parked on the street in the dead of winter or in the crazy heats during the summer. Some are durable enough to protect themselves from extreme temperatures, shock, and water. So even though the card you buy is big and fast enough tor work great in your dash cam chances are it will still begin to fail down the line especially when you need it most. Also of note using Sandisk ultra cards in a dash cam will void the sandisk warranty on the card.
@Jocular-mt3jb Isn't SanDisk Max Endurance better than High Endurance? Max Endurance would be up to 15,000 hours and have a 3-year warranty. The High Endurance would be up to 2500 hours and have a 2-year warranty. Sandisk also told me to use one of those instead of the Ultra Plus, but if they're only going to last 2 to 3 years, I didn't know if that was good or not. That's why I used the Ultra Plus for the same price, thinking it might last longer having the lifetime warranty. But now I realize there's a difference in the way the cards are made. The other other two are made to be recorded continuously and many times over. I think that would wear out the Ultra Plus faster. Is this what you think?
3:49 Format cards monthly. That is a good tip. I have noticed when I don't do that, entire videos get dropped from my more well used cards (Samsung High Endurance 128GB U3 V30)
This is all wrong. You want a high endurance one designed for constant usage. Samsung Pro Endurance or Sandisk High Endurance or Max Endurance. Regular SD cards like Extreme are NOT designed for constant usage in dashcams or security cameras and will fail.
This is so correct, as you can see from my post earlier had the camera fail after a month and thought I should dump it but read about the endurance aspect and immediately the dash cam jumped back into life and no trouble at all since.
I was looking exactly for someone with a comment like yours. This guy is absolutely right. One I was at first got my dashcam I thought Extreme Pro will work perfectly and then spent more money on getting a new Lexar microsd. Until a week or 2 I realized I made a huge mistake. After getting the Max Endurance one, the problem didn't come at all, and that was 5 months ago. So far so good with my last choice!
Hi, I have Arenti P2Q indoor Camera. Can you please confirm what’s the maximum storage memory card I can use with this camera. Is it 128GB or I can use 1 Terabyte card as well. I appreciate your quick answer as I have to order a card for my camera I bought today . Thank you 🙏
I got u3 500gb card on HD 1080p cam and when it record and I want to watch the files it always says damage file and sometimes it says I need a fast card. Any tips?
Had a load of trouble with my dash cam and then I read that there is a card that can take the constant rewriting over and over again, soon as I changed it the dash cam came back to life, I will hook the card out next time I pop into the car probably Friday am. and let you know which is is.
Hi There not all SD card what is printed on it... AliExpress only sell fake one. Even on eBay get cheap fake as well. OK All the fake one is slow and maybe 8GB usable, all the rest is looping trick. Also The Card is should be one partition only. If Have 2 fix it. Delete the 2nd one, format it again. Black Vue formatting issues fixed with this trick.

@@L-xj2xs You have me guessing now Max or High endurance not sure but the standard card is NBG for this purpose.

For 4K cams:
1) Class 10
2) U3
3) Endurance
save the day. What would 256gb recording time on 4k cam?
That's all I was looking for too

How come in the questions area on best buy it says to use the extreme and not high endurance
Viofo recommend Sandisk Extreme (as well as their own brand) 🤷♂

@@brendandax i agree with you man Extreme the best for dash cam 👌🏼
