Yes, that is right. I was talking about how much it cost to operate a vehicle on average during that clip. Just a bit different. That number is from the Department of Energy (.58 per mile on average).
I respect your video but as a driver my self I disagree. Base pay need to increase. A lot of customers pay more than $5 dollar on just delivery fees. Tips are optional not a requirement. Us dashers need to start complaining to the company.. Also believe that they need to get rid of acceptance rate and just not build orders pay just let it float to all the drivers around at the same pay. That would fix most of the pay problem. Maybe I should one day make a vid myself. I agree with some stuff you mentioned but with pay and tips. It really the base pay that needs increase not tips
I can appreciate that. Base pay used to be $3-4 and now when a customer tips $10 it’s only paying $12 which depending on miles could be great or could be mediocre. The base pay has hurt both drivers and good tipping customers
Base pay is only going to keep going down. Coming soon $1 base pay. Doordash or the other gig apps have no reason to raise base pay, the orders are getting delivered. Too many drivers willing to work for peanuts is the problem.

I have driven for DD going on 5 years and all along i thought if somehow drivers would ban together and all decide to stop taking low and no pay offers it would force DD to change, but sadly the opposite has happened. Drivers take anything and everything allowing DD to control them. It sucks
