    Gotta love chronic fatigue, naps are necessary but often don't make you feel better. I stayed up until nearly 4am watching your livestream (I'm paying for it now)

    So the reason you may have threw up formula is because you should be sleeping at, an at least 30 degree incline to prevent reflux and backing up of formula into your stomach when you are sleeping. Never stay flat when sleeping because the gravity can cause issues and even aspirate into you lungs. Just a recommendation to help you keep your feeds down and prevent problems. Even with a J tube it is necessary. I have had an NJ for 4 months nows and they always told me sleep sitting up

    • @oneseeker2
      @oneseeker2 7 років тому +12

      I have been saying that, and w/meds, food, fluids. Aspiration is a serious concern! Why hasn't her medical team educated her on that! Sometimes a person has to sit up more than 30degrees. Maybe she will listen to you

    • @jessnic8886
      @jessnic8886 7 років тому +16

      That's exactly what I have to do too! Never sleep flat on your back! I have to prop my bed up with lots of pillows for when I do the fuel overnight; it will help I have had no problems:)

      I have extreme GERD cause of a hiatal hernia and I actually have a wedge pillow to prevent reflux. I sleep at 45 degrees every night. took some getting used too but now I cant sleep without it

      Sharon J, I had to stop and reread your comment to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Wow. That was extremely rude and uncalled for. It's frankly none of your business what medical information she conveys to him.

    Hi guys. I'm a new subscriber. I like watching your videos because I really identify with what you are going through in a fashion. My husband has had terminal heart disease since he was a teenager. it was brought on by two lots of leukaemia he had when a child and the chemotherapy drugs they used back then. Against all odds, and living on the streets, we eventually met and pretty much were a couple that very minute :) Just two years ago, with only months to live he received the greatest gift. Someone had ticked "yes" on their donor card and my husband was the recipient. In Australia, it's the law that we aren't allowed to know the donor's name, but i give thanks to them and their family every day I can wake up next to my husband. Life after transplant has not been easy. It's definitely not like what they portray on TV. It's messy and painful and emotionally draining, and you are constantly on edge and questioning even the little things...like the foods he can't eat any more. But it's also wonderful, and he can now, two years later, start to feel the benefits of this gift of life. Sorry for my rambling, but I just wanted you to know that I know what it's like and I love you guys for sharing it with so many people. xxx

    • @renyputman7118
      @renyputman7118 7 років тому +3

      theboutique1 really? I would image it feeling better (as good as vomit can be) than all the chunks and stuff. The only reason I can think of it being worse cause it is in Mary's jejunum so it's deeper and harder to throw up. Please tell me why now you made me very curious!
      Sincerely, a very experienced vomiter😂

    • @theboutique1
      @theboutique1 7 років тому +4

      I think feeding tube formula smells disgusting anyway and its worse regeratated. Obviously that dosent matter on a day to day basis because you dont have to smell/taste it, but you would if you are vomming it up. Also I feel like because its more liquid, it comes up faster/more easily and is just generally more gross. But this is just from me working with people with tubes, I dont have one myself. I can see your point though that it might be more pleasant( as it can be) to not vomit up somthing with chuncks.

    • @renyputman7118
      @renyputman7118 7 років тому +2

      theboutique1 That makes sense thanks! Throwing up is just something the body shouldn't be able to do because it is so unpleasant. Vomit doesn't tastes nice on its own and if it has a horrendous smell and taste before you throw it up it must suck really bad. Thanks for the info😊

    This might be a little weird to ask, but could you give ollie some extra snuggles today for me? My dog had to be put down on Saturday (she was 12 and had really agressive cancer) Ollie reminds me very much of her :) Love you guys

      TheAlmutz So very sorry...my sweet guy was put to sleep on 11/2/16 @14 yrs due to the same & it's still so hard. Ollie's mannerisms & gentleness remind me of my Rocky. The daily Frey vlogs help me remember all the good memories

    Mary and Peter, I can't decide whether to laugh or cry either! So I have an IDEA!! Let's do this division of labor: I'll cry for you, and you two laugh big time. When I'm done crying, then I'll watch your vlog over again and laugh UNTIL I cry!! Do you know how I came up with that great idea? It's because I'm secretly a genius! ;)

    Be careful not to spill any of your fuel on the carpet. I take care of a guy that uses Jevity and if it gets spilled on the carpet, it doesn't come out, even if you shampoo the carpet. It's like concrete.
