- The skeletal muscle system is ready to contract,
It’s there when you need to fight and also to react,
You have around 640, but there’s no need to fear,
We’ll cover all the main ones - from your front to your rear!
There’s the trapezius muscle, from your neck down your back,
This muscle has three portions, so let us discuss that!
Superior, middle, inferior - that is what they’re called!
And around your shoulders, is where they are sprawled!
The deltoids top the shoulders, and each splits into three,
Anterior, lateral, posterior fibers as you can see,
These muscles help you lift your arms up into the air,
So you can wave your arms around like you don’t even care.
The biceps is a flexor, made up of two sections,
The short and the long heads, almost like reflexions.
The triceps is an extensor, with three bits you can see,
These are the lateral, long, and the medial heads actually.
Your two pecs help move your arms and they are on your chest,
Know that these muscles come in pairs, like weights that are bench pressed.
The pectoralis major lets you move your humerous,
The minor muscle lifts your ribs, as you’ll know if you are studious.
The rhomboids on your upper back let you dance your best,
The minor above major, remember for your test!
Your lats can be seen behind, always by your side,
Of all of your back muscles, these are the most wide!
The obliques help you rotate, and are found along your sides,
Beneath the external, the internal oblique hides.
The rectus abdominis, which are often called your abs!
Everyone has a six-pack, though sometimes under flab!
Glutes are the largest muscles, located on your rear,
Your glutes will help you to climb stairs without any fear.
The three gluteal muscles are maximus, medius, minimus,
So make sure when you study, that you are not oblivious.
The quadriceps has four muscles, which help extend your knee,
It’s found atop the femur, shown here as you can see.
Vastus lateralis, intermedius, medialis
Together with the fourth, called rectus femoris.
The hamstrings are leg flexors and they have three muscles,
Biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus,
Finally your calf muscles - the soleus and gastrocnemius,
With lateral and medial heads, which find cycling strenuous.

honestly exercising and working out helps learning the muscles. you literally almost know every muscle in your body just by researching which exercises work out which muscle groups.

yeah bro i think i surpass my class mates in bio just experience of exercising and i didn't even took bio as my main subject but maths... should i take a drop and take bio .. cuz i know more then my classmates who took bio... the reason i skipped bio due to my friends .. they told me its hard and lame... but now after working out knowing most of human anatomy i think i would have done great in bio as my main subjects...

I study in italy,I decided to do my anatomy test in English, the teacher ask me all these muscles, I sang silently in my head answering, after he ask what are you doing since it was an oral test I told him then he said sing,I sang everybody laugh and he gave me my mark,I was the happiest because not everyone pass his oral test😌😌

@@furiousspark3814 yeah last week was all the bones and little notches, bumps and curves and now its most of the muscles as well as the origin, insertion, and action for each. also histology will be on the test. that's just Anatomy classes, 2 weeks between tests and we also have a lecture going on at the same time with its own topics and tests every 2ish weeks. its a weed class for a reason.

@@vminhope3040 your knowledge will come with time. I'm in med school and I learned more muscle anatomy from UA-cam bodybuilders than I've been taught in class. The more you make your own workout routines, the quicker your knowledge will come.
This video wasn’t made for med school either way. You would have an hour long video to explain just these muscles in a medical way lol.

the song is really useless if you need to study, most mnemonic devices can often just confuse you. but the imagery is extremely good because he actually shows you the muscles moving while the person is performing the actions, which is what most people really need when studying anatomy. really helpful video

@@mariamtsulukidze2011 omg girl I read my book beginning to end and that was a mistake! I passed about 3 weeks ago. The bulk of my test was about under/over active muscles, the OPT model, and training techniques! Chapters like nutrition/supplements weren’t really covered, because it’s not our scope of practice, so they can’t ask us too much about that.
