How to sheath a home without removing the siding - alternative vapor barrier method

When remodeling an older home, water intrusion is always a concern. We reinforced the sheathing without replacing siding on this Hyde Park bungalow remodel. After this, a great paint job sealing up all trim boards.

tyvek tape to hold in place, then the pressure of the vapor board secures it

Would this work on a home with stone exterior where the original weather seal is failing?

That sounds like the same principal as this old home. Original siding wasn't airtight, and the old felt paper was failing behind it. Sounds like great method in your case!
