All of those Black/Death/Hardcore metal bands wouldn t exist if it wasn't for the Kinks and Led Zeppelin. So ye, with them being the precursors to all of that it's kinda normal they would have experienced that same kind of stuff before everyone else. And the Clash? Punk was stirring all the controversies that Black and Death Metal bands were, years before most of those bands were even formed. The Beatles felt really out of place there tho I'd give you that.

As a teenager kid in late 70's & early 80's I was banned from having kiss, Judas priest, iron maiden, ozzy, basically anything considered hard rock in the house. Try being the son of a southern Baptist minister. I still had all of what I mentioned, just had to hide it and never play it while my parents were home. They would have shit themselves if they knew how much grass I hid and grew. Damn I miss those days. Don't get me wrong I love my parents dearly, for some reason I got a kick out of pissing them off.lol
