Everyone says you can't find dogma anywhere, but it's been free on UA-cam for years.
I made a youtube video about it on my channel, and that's where I got all the clips I used.
They mean that you can't find it *legitimately* anywhere. The UA-cam upload is technically illegal. What people are complaining about is that the movie isn't officially available in *any* format.
So you’re saying it became a movie only one person watches at a time?
You can find the DVD very easily. Streaming sucks anyway.
I really appreciate that Smith is mindful enough to realize that he was using marijuana as a crutch to fill a void and had to quit... while also still being able to embrace the culture and recognize other people can enjoy it without it being a crutch. That's very much how I am with alcohol. I can't drink because I know I'm an alcoholic and can't control it, but hey... a lot of my friends love to go out to the bars and it can still still be fun! I'll just be getting soda and mocktails when they're having beer and shots, haha.
Well, now he's an alcoholic. Thank his garbage wife for that...

One of my favorite samples is Bleeding Through using Willem Dafoe from Boondock Saints at the beginning of a brutal breakdown
So many good metalcore/deathcore/hardcore bands using samples in this regard that rule.
This reminded me of “1958” by ADTR, they use the prayer from the end of the movie in the beginning of the song

When Billie Eilish sampled The Office in her song 'Strange Addiction', all the actors in the sample had to be asked for their permission.

So either Kanye got the blessing from Harvey , or he sampled without permission. I believe it was the latter because Kevin smith has said he can’t get ahold of Harvey to buy the rights to DOGMA.😢

You do not need to get permission from the artist to sample them. Memes would never have movie quotes if Kevin Smith was correct, he is not. You need to pay for samples and get permission when the audio is ripped from another copyright protected piece of work. And thanks to over litigious labels there is precedent you have to steal the whole song not just one word. So a quote from Dogma is safe because you are not playing the movie in entirety on your song. You could probably find someone to sue. But you will lose.

They use the lyrics from the film in the soundtrack version of the song Electric Dreams. If I hear it now without the quotes it just sounds wrong...

Its business. There are plenty of drug dealers that dont use. That's how you make a profit instead of just getting high for free.
Also. Weed imho should not be a constant companion. Just like any drug, there is a time, place, and often a period of your life when it helps. But the same thing is true that sometimes it hinders.

Kevin Smith is another example of someone in Hollywood that USED to be awesome. I don't understand the trend of becoming Vegan, Liberal, and obnoxious altogether in one.
