Every time I see Floor cry I cry
I’ve watched every possible documentary featuring Floor. She is an interesting paradox. Such a confident and dominant persona on stage, but relatively shy and humble in everyday life. Both Floor and her mother are very emotion individuals and are also extremely close. You should really watch some of these gems. They are all on UA-cam and really give a fascinating insight into this charismatic woman

Strong is a hard song to listen to for me, because my mom suffers from chronic pain and she still pushes through that pain, same with Floor's mother.

The whole show was really good. I watched it thanks to the subtitles. I loved all the songs they sang. For floor, my favorites were Sound of Silence and Hotel California.

It was wonderful, and Floor sung this song too. The festival was on the death Memorial Day of my mother, so I shed some tears that night... 💕

Emma Heesters is a UA-cam star doing covers and her carreer started by performing in this show. The concept of this show is that singers from different genres each sing a song from each artist during an episode. In 2019 the collection of singers was so enormously great... Really great singers with a lot of respect for each other and all performed great songs. Emma really did a wonderful job here with all of these strong emotions building up even before she'd sang one single note. The syncing problems alas ruined what could've been a perfect video bcz the before/after talk in Beste Zangers is always so informative and endearing, especially here. Read in your replies it's something to do with "overdubbing in English"? What I see/hear is no English overdub (since that would mean an English language audio stream on top of the Dutchie one, right?).
Could it be that simply turning on captions lead to syncing probs? Dunno. EDIT: syncing mystery solved: you reacted to a video that was horribly out of sync to begin with and thought it was due to "overdubbing". Would've preferred you guys having taken a second look with a/v syn issues solved [i.e. reacting to a video from another channel] and then just telling us afterwards how the software scr3wed up your initial response. All the same, lovely comments you guys and playing wolfhand harmonica was just epic! Cheers from Amsterdam!

Nice reaction ,like some others told you,this whole season was very good , I’m not a fan of any tv show but when I discovered this I have to watch it completely, my suggestion is (watch it all) to react to Floor singing ‘ mama’ for Samantha Steenwijk , it’s song in Dutch but you can find it with subtitles,, think you love it

I was very happy when I saw you were covering this - I know I'm not the only one who requested this but I'm so glad you did! It is a very personal song for me because my Mother (who is now 80) has suffered from crippling rheumatoid arthritis since her early 30's - "I see every smile you fake" was of course lost on me as I was just a youngster who didn't fully understand - but when I was diagnosed with Epilepsy (mid teens) you begin to grow up quickly and that phrase becomes all too clear in your understanding. Floor's reaction always sets me off too - you can find videos of her trying to sing this song at one of her solo shows - she can never quite finish it! As I said before, you might like to do Floor singing Samantha's song 'Mama' to her (makes my Wife cry every time) such a powerful emotive song. Also if you want to hear a little more from Emma - she does a gorgeous duet with Henk Poorte, 'Vivo per Lei' by Andrea Bocelli. Btw Samantha performs Nightwish's 'Our Decades in the Sun' which Nightwish have never performed to my knowledge?😃 I wish you all the best - onwards and upwards, as we say here in the UK. Take care. This is a song I can hardly ever listen to Floor sing. She sings it beautifully for her mother, but she always starts crying. When Floor cries, my eyes start welling up, and I am a big tough guy that hardly ever gets overly emotional. Can't stand to see her start crying.
This was a very nice show from start to finish, very good singing from all of them. Didn't really get into the German version with Floor at all. Floor became known in her county and the others became famous outside Netherland because of the interest of Nightwish fans.
Just sit down and enjoy this season songby song episode by episode you will love them all.

I gave myself a smack after seeing the first episode,as i saw this stunning young blonde,and somehow my thoughts went into a somewhat judgemental direction. But i stopped myself,and said to myself: Never judge a book by its cover,lets give her a fair chance. Luckily i had seen several seasons of this same concept in my own country who bought the licence for this show. Amazing concept with artists unfamiliar or familiar with eachother come together,and honor eachother week by week and just in general celebrate music. No competition,no drama,nothing disturbing as with other "reality shows". Just wholesome and good vibes.
From the first note i heard Emma take,she won me over. I guess my devil on my shoulder feared she would be some "Britney Spears" sounding young lady,but im so glad my Angel opposite beat some sence into that red devil😆I took it upon myself to make it better again by contacting Emma in the days after this show,where i completely praised her. And she is just as sweet as Floor i swear,she responded super quickly,humble and sweet. Down to earth,and super interactive.
She said she had no experience with being in a setting like this,from before. She has a good following here on UA-cam where she has done ALOT of covers of famous songs,where also artists have become aware of her covers of theyr songs,and gotten a direct reaction from thoose artists. I know 1 artist that LOVED Emma and her cover version of his song is Shawn Mendes. So Emma has gotten alot of love over the years for doing covers on YT,she has perfected in how to use the microphone in any position,setting. Thats why some thought she did playback in Beste Zangers. Have you seen her do James Brown - Sex Machine for Henk Poort? One of the few performances where she gets to dance and sing at the same time,and she still sounds flawless.
Thats years and years of practicing microphone techniques,so on YT people in the cover music side of YT might know who Emma is,but other then that she was the youngest and least experienced with television shows,concerts and all that. She got her first record label deal after her first show,wich was Beste Zangers. She admitted it was outside of her own comfort zone,but if you ask me she looked and sounded like a professional throughout the season.
I lost my own mom to cancer at the start of my 20s (and i only had her as a parent),and she had the aggressive spreading kind wich had already reached the most crucial parts of her body and mind,so when we discovered it,i only had her for barely 2 more weeks. So virtual hugs goes out to you! Emma told me in a private message that the reason why she closed her eyes abit during this performance,was to prevent herself from tearing up,she didnt want to mess up her tribute to Floor and both theyr moms.
Emma has been called back after this by the same production to do a musical for them,wich speaks volume. She has one amazing career ahead of her!
Okay you guys, I think I've solved the mystery of the sync problem. Three weeks ago, in the Shallow version Floor did with Tim Akkerman, I posted several time-stamped links to several episodes of Beste Zangers with the before/after talk. You added them to the list, but didn't use it. Unfortunately, you reacted to a worthless video instead, which was simply horribly out of sync. You attributed it to "overdubbing" which wasn't the case. You say something abt it at 10:55 if I'm not mistaken. So mystery solved! Now let's hunt down the one who recommended that dud to you guys ;)
