Interestingly, the Sourcebook goofed with the Mauler. It claimed the design was from 3039, but the technical readout series stressed that the Mauler was a 3050-ish design. To handle this discrepancy, they created the Daboku in later editions, which had a reputation for ejecting its pilot if you hit it's lower center torso...a feature that is, in fact, a tongue-in-cheek reference to the animated series action figures.
an observation. You declared "torso twist" during the Movement Phase. That is not necesary, the torso twist is declared during Shooting Phase and it does not change the original facing for locations rolls against the torso twisting unit.
9:00 FYI, there actually are rules for enhanced imaging. Condensed form is while the system is active, you get bonuses to piloting checks and shooting through obscuring terrain plus a few other bonuses, but if you take internal damage, you’ve got a 50% chance of your pilot taking damage too
When a mech does a physical attack one level below a target, it can only punch (or use arm mounted physical weapons) and you use the kick table for the hit. The reverse is true for attacking from a level above, you can only kick and use the punch table. Also, you do add terrain modifiers cumulatively. Especially for woods, you can have a maximum of +2 modifier for woods or LOS is obstructed. This means a single hex of heavy or two hexes of light woods can be seen through. I also believe this adds to the modifier for partial cover behind elevated terrain. Loving the BT content, keep it up!
A max of +2 for "intervening" woods but its possible to reach a +3/+4 if the target is "occupying" light woods/heavy woods with +2 of intervening. For example if there are 3 consecutive hexes of woods (Say 2 light and 3 is heavy) and the target is occupying the 3rd set of (heavy) woods. It is +1 for each hex of intervening light woods (+2 total) plus the +2 for the target occupying the heavy woods (total +4). Everything else you said is spot on though
I'm so excited to watch this series. You built up my anticipation when you announced you were doing this and I'm glad the first episode is here. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning!
the partial cover modifier only applies to standing adjacent to and behind an elevation difference of +1 and only protects the legs, splitting the line between two different terrain is the defenders choice of which it counts as passing through.
Same with rolling a 2 on the hit location, you still have to roll to confirm the critical hit and that roll can generate more than one crit or even destroy the location outright.
A rough start for the Strikers--though, I doubt that is getting any easier from what I remember from these scenarios! Can't wait for the next episode of GuerrillaTech.
I really enjoy the battle reports with Jay. I think you and he have great chemistry and always make for a highly entertaining video. I look forward to seeing him in future battle reports!
Thanks for posting some Battletech content. Been playing for many years and still love it. The new plastic minis and new beautiful maps have revitalized the local BT scene. Enjoyed watching the video and hilarious commentary! Keep up the quality content.
pulse lasers confer a -2 to hit, not -1. Also, hit arcs are plotted from the facing of the mech's feet - not the torso (if twisted). Sorry I sound like such an asshole, pointing out rules. I love the quality of these videos and your minis are wonderfully painted. The energy is good and it is fun to watch. But even one improper ruling can make a huge difference imo so I thought you might want to get them right so I say these things. Also, you can torso twist during the fire declaration phase. Physical attacks are made after ranged weapon attacks. When your physical attack only reaches the legs of the target mech like here, it is resolved using the Kick table. When attacking from a side arc, the attack ALWAYS hits the leg on the corresponding side. Similarly, if you kick a mech 1 lv below the attacker - it is resolved on the Punch table. The punch table gives 16.5% head hits instead of the usual 2.7% ;) When using a Hatchet against a target ON THE SAME LEVEL , the attacking player resolves hits on the regular table BUT, MAY CHOOSE to use the punch or kick table at a cost of +4 to-hit mod (in addition to the -1 hatchet bonus). Also, I just realized you boys are not rolling for criticals. You have to roll crit. 2d6 8+ for one crit, 10-11 for 2 and 12 for 3 or blown-off limb/head. Also, you are forgetting fall damage. Tonnage /10 x levels fallen, in groupings of 5.
Very entertaining and I am looking forward to more! Im still learning so I appreciate the camera work and being close enough to read the dice and small details of whats going on.
love to see the inequality in numbers and quality play also the great fun with all those references to the series even by the players! On the other hand i would have liked you to use the rules for Honorable clan combat even though you kinda made up your own variation on it as you went on.
I'm amazed the Hunchback IIc made it through that. despite the low ammo count I have never actually seen one live to run out of ammo before as they are VERY dangerous and VERY under-armored.
Just checking this out... I was wondering if my Battlestar Galactica vipers (from the space game from Ares) would fit on these hexes lol. Would so use them as fighters as well 😂
I don't see why not. If anyone says the vipers are to big, you can easily say it's a zoomed in view or something to that effect. I don't have the Ares vipers, but I do have a few 3d printed from etsy that I plan on using once they arrive in the mail.😊
Super stoked every time I see CBT content! My favourite wargame on my favourite wargaming channel! One quick note on the rules, if I may: when a mech falls, it takes damage, determined by its facing. The bigger the mech the more damage it takes, so that Mauler would have taken a beating! Keep up the awesome content.
Unless I'm mistaken being shot in the head isn't a piloting skill roll (PSR) it's a conscienceness roll which start at 3+ but every time you get hit they get harder so 3+ 5+ 7+ 9+ 11+. On the 6th damage you auto pass out and can't wake up (you wake up on the next increment so if you needed a 3+ and rolled a 2 then it's 5+ to wake up but this doesn't get any harder and if you take another head hit it's still a 5+) There should a gauge on your mech sheet. Also if you ammo explodes on a crit or your lose a left/right torso I think thst damages the pilot too
It's like watching lil kids youth soccer. Everyone just clustering around each other, 'Bunch Ball'. Fun watch tho! I played so much BT 'back in the day' that I still know the Hit Table rolls, Weapon Ranges/minimums, Damage & Heat, plus a whole lotta Mechs readouts. You did tempt me tho, so much so that I stop'd watching these Batt[tletech]Reps. Many months later, yes, I'm finally baAaAaAck! & I caved, 2 different Starter sets & 3x Lance packs. More than enuff IS3025 goodness to re-gather all the old Mechwarriors for more than a bit of 'A Game of Armored Combat' awesomeness! Blaster was here... forward all my correspondence to me in 3025!
When ammo goes and case is involved with innersphere the torso blows but nothing else the pilot automatically takes 2 pilot hit and so at that point the mauler is dieded.
Ash, I love this series SO MUCH...but you really need to brush up on your rules brother. Alot of people will be playing based on how you did it! I'm not listing them as others have in the comments. PLEASE take this as constructive criticism Ash, it's so good that you're giving Battle tech the attention it's always deserved with your usual boyish enthusiasm 😍🤸
AWESOME!!!! Loved the show as a kid and my kids also enjoy it. What model are you using for the Banshee fighter? Only thing I'm missing for the strikers.
Well, intro to cover the Cartoon of MechWarrior. Little fun fact: The Cartoon is not canon to the lore of Battletech. Yet what makes the cartoon canon to the lore. The cartoon is in universe propaganda cartoon. The cartoon exists in the universe and you were all watching propaganda!
I love the concept, but you guys really need to brush up on the rules. I won't be a rule-nazi here, as others have pointed out some of the pretty basic things you got wrong, but I would like to point out an even more basic thing that you got wrong, Kristen Redmond is piloting a Vulture (Mad Dog) prime. This model does not have jump jets, yet you jump. This is basic reading of the record sheets, yet nobody notices it or calls it out?
Absolutely incredible! I cannot believe I'm really watching a Somerset Strikers campaign on this channel. On Cloud 9 here.

It is a good day when you see some battletech stuff here, more if it is classic battletech. I have see all the series last week ! Good call
I love the way you tackle a fiddly game with such joy. Sure, you get some rules wrong but you keep it fun and moving along! Nice job.

A Battletech battle report is always a welcome sight!
Yes!!!! Finally some battletech! We need more uploads! MORRRRRRE battletech!!
the partial cover modifier only applies to standing adjacent to and behind an elevation difference of +1 and only protects the legs, splitting the line between two different terrain is the defenders choice of which it counts as passing through.
When the internal structure takes damage it's only a chance of a critical. On an 8 or better.
Same with rolling a 2 on the hit location, you still have to roll to confirm the critical hit and that roll can generate more than one crit or even destroy the location outright.
LMAO I loved it whenever "For KERENSKKKY" was shouted.
A rough start for the Strikers--though, I doubt that is getting any easier from what I remember from these scenarios! Can't wait for the next episode of GuerrillaTech.
I am so excited you are playing through this sourcebook!
Haha it's been a thousand years since I saw that show. Great idea digging it up for CBT scenarios!
So great seeing this on the channel! Loved it! Remember crits don't automatically happen, you have to roll to confirm
Information is ammunition!

Love seeing this channel grow. Been following for a few months and feel like it’s grown even since then. Like these battletech matches.
This is such a fun game to watch. I would love to see more air to air action myself. Can't wait to see more CBT battle reports.
Absolutely love these. Huge fan of this series and source book! Thank you for making this series. Keep up the great work
Awesome stuff. Thanks for sharing classic Battletech. Add in those attacker movement modifiers could cause some missed shots.
Pulse lasers are -2 to target number not -1
Very entertaining and I am looking forward to more! Im still learning so I appreciate the camera work and being close enough to read the dice and small details of whats going on.
I had no idea this even existed. No nostalgia. But lots of fun watching you guy enjoy it.
love to see the inequality in numbers and quality play also the great fun with all those references to the series even by the players! On the other hand i would have liked you to use the rules for Honorable clan combat even though you kinda made up your own variation on it as you went on.
We need more! I´m missing Battletech lately
This brings back memories. I used to miss on sixes all the time.
In classic you can see through the mechs for LOS
I'm amazed the Hunchback IIc made it through that. despite the low ammo count I have never actually seen one live to run out of ammo before as they are VERY dangerous and VERY under-armored.
All that Tonnage goes to those weapons, so yeah usually they are a priority target because they are under armored but also hit like a truck!
Partial cover only counts if youre in the hex next to it in CBT
When a 2 is rolled there's a chance of a critical not automatically a critical.
Love that you guys are playing battletech!!!
I love it when you play Jay! That dude is great.
Thanks Dustin!
Just checking this out... I was wondering if my Battlestar Galactica vipers (from the space game from Ares) would fit on these hexes lol. Would so use them as fighters as well 😂

Wow I remember watching that animated show.
Let's torso twist again, like we did last Somerset! Great fun, still not enough standing in puddles to shed heat though.
There are a lot of bad jokes out there, but this one is in a category all by itself. My hat is off to you, sir!
Looking forward to watching your series 👍🏻
CASE only prevents damage transfer, not the explosion itself, if I recall correctly. That mauler was toast!
Super stoked every time I see CBT content! My favourite wargame on my favourite wargaming channel!
One quick note on the rules, if I may: when a mech falls, it takes damage, determined by its facing. The bigger the mech the more damage it takes, so that Mauler would have taken a beating!

For my next action I would like to spend 2 heat to refuse your batchall.
Jade Falcon for lyfe!

I don't know, losing an assault to gain a medium doesn't seem like a Pyrrhic victory to me :D
Stompy robots and wacky fun! I’d like this twice if I could.
Remember Valten Ryder's rules for dating elementals. 'No concussions on the first date.'
Can't wait for the next one
Hey guerrilla there's a new mutant chronicles warzone table top game coming soon would love to see you play some bat reps in it
Been so long since I played some mutant chronicles warzone, was definitely a classic. Would be great to see it again
It's like watching lil kids youth soccer. Everyone just clustering around each other, 'Bunch Ball'. Fun watch tho!

Blaster was here... forward all my correspondence to me in 3025!
No wonder Victor Steiner-Davion called him Ciro the hero ironically
Great game, the current rules seem a bit more kind than I remember in the 90s.
More Battletech! 🥰🥰
You know I just noticed you skip the declaration phase for attacks and I don't think anything was lost doing that lol
thanks Ash, great game! Check Etsy for custom made Movement dice, makes things super easy. :)
Coloring in my etsy dice that just showed up in the mail while watching this. ;)
When ammo goes and case is involved with innersphere the torso blows but nothing else the pilot automatically takes 2 pilot hit and so at that point the mauler is dieded.
Classic Battletech joy
Watching this as I boot up Mech Warrior 5 for another playthrough.
What green paint did you use for the jade falcon mechs??
Aw yis moar BattleTech!
I miss BT. I could watch this all day.
Loving the Battletech!
Ash, I love this series SO MUCH...but you really need to brush up on your rules brother. Alot of people will be playing based on how you did it! I'm not listing them as others have in the comments. You DARE refuse my BATCHALL
Awesome
Mauser only has 2 ac2. Thought it had 4.
AWESOME!!!! Loved the show as a kid and my kids also enjoy it.
What model are you using for the Banshee fighter? Only thing I'm missing for the strikers.
I found an STL to 3D print online.
Mauler has four ac2s not two.
Will you be doing more gamma wolves? Love the game. Me and my mates have played a few games and we love it.
What is that Mauler model? I didn't think CGL made one yet.
Information is Ammunition
Where'd you get the Mauler model from? 💕
It's a 3D print
Don't ultra acs have the option to fire twice per weapon ...so the hunchback 2c could have shot 4 times Vs the mauler
I would be really keen to see some Battleforce 2 for the larger number of Mech battles. Possible?
CIIIIRRROOOOO JENKINS!!!!!!!!!!!
Did they ever make mech minis with twistable torsos? Seems like an obvious feature to have.
People tend to make them themselves. Cut them in half and ad magnets.
13:00 Intervenining terrain doesn't effect ASF strikes
😍Any chance you'll share the link to obtain the AXM-2N ????
Absolutely love that Mech and the best variation by far. @Guerrilla Miniature Games
Iron Wind metals actually had that version for retail I believe so any place that carries IWM should be able to get it for you.
I didn't see the Mauler take any fall damage.
Thought she had Jade Falcon Vulture Prime (2 LPL 2 MPL and 2x LRM20 no jump jets
Yeah I was surprised to see a vulture jumping, not something they are known for and only one does it.
Hello, when part 2 ???
It’s already up!
YEEEEEEEAH MORE BTTTTTTT
I was unlikely the last game I played.
It was Mad cat Prime vs Nova A one ER ppc killed my mad cat by headshot
CBT you say...
First Movement: Vulture Prime CAN´t jump
The critical hit are being done wrong. Need to roll an 8 up to get any crits.
2 on 2d6 is just a crit roll, not an auto crit - at least I think :)
Much better on the rules (e.g. ferro-tibrous) though. Hope it was fun, looked it.
Oh, and leg is not attached to the torso. - I think they link to the CT ruleswise.
@@hedleybrowning5448 no bud, goes to side, then to centre. Even though you don't lose a leg when a side torso is lost 🤷🤯🙏
@@tompayne4945 I think we mean the same thing, but I may have worded it badly :)
Was this Jayknight Jay???
It would be nice if you played actual Battletech and observed the phases the way they are written
I've seen the show no way was Adam a 2/2 more like a 6/6 lol
being in forest is a subjective thing, you might not be able to see the forest from the trees, if you look to the wood only
look whos back, back again :)
what is a imperial guide in his dune uniform
a robot
have you got any pc or mobile or ar version of the game, with the table top rules
campaign mode that you are not just playing scenarios, variable mission conditions
awesome :D good callback to the comstar propaganda show ;)
great game and minis but I think you guys need to brush up on the rules.
Refuse your what?
Unfortunately you guys got so many rules wrong…. I appreciate the effort but you guys need to learn the rules!!!

He said he got it wrong himself later on in the video, said he looked at the wrong sheet.
@@carabus0354 Way to simp in the comments 7 months later bro.
CBT is so cumbersome compared to contemporary games. 😞Alpha Strike is much more enjoyable to watch for me.
Not a fan of Alpha Strike TBH
