The step up from this if your saying 4-8 more channels is basically a XL Desk! The should basically make a 8 channel with ADAT 500 series version would be awesome
It's a shame they didn't put in something so you could extend it. I still think stick more channels in it and it's getting close to an affordable consul. Sort of lol
I think Live Analog Recording and Voice Over have more to gain from the Big Six....I have the SoundCraft LX7II Which is a little more Saturated and Gluey sounding like Tape....which works better for me because most of my music is in the DAW so I use a UAD Volt...alwasy on Vintage Mode and WA G Comp with it.....Ive got to have more Saturation and Ananalog Harmonic Distortion looping through my gear because 70% of it is Digital
feeling this, man my days of big old gear are through , i had a shock playing ezdrummer3 through my midi kit, it just gets it done, ok internal dynamics etc wont ever beat stick on brass, but im miles nearer a record or music, really thinking about outing a lot of kit and getting a lappy and this, the one thing i had a real journey of discovery is interfaces, thousands of pounds later a 7 years i ended up with a prism sound lyra i can get the latency down on a high basecore windows system running cubase 12 to around 8 secs roundtrip so i can monitor incubase to click, could you suss this one out if you can using a drum vst, much appreciated j
Great video! I'm curious to know how you setup the Big Six to work with Zoom. I attempted to use the Big Six with Zoom on my MacBook Pro and could not get it to work. I can select the Big Six as the device for input and output but it doesn't pass any audio back and forth. The Big Six works great with Ableton. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, thanks for the kind coment. The way I did it, I now use a DJI wirless mic, which is easier as the mic comes with me, as I kept shouting with the big six even though I didn’t have to. lol. The main thing is, is that you select the inputs and outputs correclty also that the mic you are using is going straight out the main bus not back through the usb. The switch, usb out fader may be the reason. To be honest it could be many things as the desk is so versatile. Sorry I couldn't pin it down exaclty.
Not really as they are line level inputs, so they have no preamps to amplifiy the signal. You will just get a lot of noise in the reocording. You have the 4 channels and the talk back you can use with mics. It's a shame they don't make a bigger one.
Hi, it may be because either the drums are ringing out when I speak, i normally put a blanket over them when recording, or it’s the camera mic. I don’t need to use a mic as the room is so good, as I have treated the whole room. I have purposely made it so you wouldn't notice any treatment. But thanks for the comment.
Useful video ---- and yes the name "Big Six" sounds like a preschooler was in charge of SSL marketing dept.

So can you use 8 mics with the stereo / dual mono ins?

First
Respectfully, I believe I was first.
Judging by the room sound on this vid, you need to do some treatment on your room Alex for accurate listening. Just saying.

Can you not see the massive amount of evidence of his room treatment? Lol gee drive by experts embarrassing themselves.
