I just built Smeagol as a mill and landfall deck. Haven't played it yet, but this convinced me that it's going to be fun.

Sméagol is fun and unique. Your definitely right you got unlucky with the top card, but he just ramps you insanely quickly

I have him as my golgari landfall, reanimate commander and he is super cool with how many lands you can get. Oh nix is so cool in his deck.

Eowyn is absolutely a "pedal to the floor" commander. After the first turns of setup she can rip right off the line and keep going which can be hard for "value centric" or durdley commanders to deal with. I love her.
