Goaded creatures can't attack planeswalkers if there's a player they can attack other than the one who goaded them. Marie's Kor Spiritdancer could not attack Tezzeret.
A goaded creature must attack a player but you can decide to attack that player directly or a planeswalker that player controls. So yes, that play was legal.
@@RyanS001 No, goad's reminder text is absolutely clear about it. It says "a player other than you", not "a player or planeswalker other than you or a planeswalker you control". Goaded creatures can only attack planeswalkers if they're unable to attack players other than the one who goaded them (for example, if they all have Propaganda/Ghostly Prison).

Shorikai provides you with the tokens you need to crew your vehicles, so I think you're fine in that department. I think you need more creature board wipes. They don't touch your vehicles unless you crew them, making it easier to make Shorikai tokens and swing afterwards.
A drumbellower goes a long way in this deck, and a mirrodin besieged makes for a cheeky wincon or extra tokens to pilot with, depending on circumstance
After the austere command destroys enchantments Felix should have lost their smuggler's share. Sure it didn't change the game at all just wanted to let you know :)
the problem with targeting the goad deck and not the voltron deck the goad deck was taking advantage of, was that after you deal with the goad deck the voltron deck still exists it's better to get rid of high danger goad targets than try to stop the goad from happening
Haven't really been doing to much with mtg lately so I haven't been tuning in as often. But I recently started watching again and its great to see some good consistent content after all this time. Thanks Muddstah
Hey Muddstah! I had a shorikai deck for a while and has really good luck with digsite engineer, Sai Master thopterist, and especially Doomed Artisan (just because the tokens can't attack doesnt mean they cant crew) for tokens that crew vehicles.
Hey just wanna point out that to remove Marie's board Félix with his Austere Command should not choose to blow enchantment. If he chose to kill all creature there Mazzy and Kor Spiritdancer will die and the aura will fizzle as a state based action. Since it only checks if it's enchanting a creature after the creatures are dead. That's why enchantment sac outlet are so good in Mazzy. Sorry have a crush for this commander it's my new favorite deck. All that being said I make a ton of mistakes don't get me wrong. I loved the episode. Thanks for sharing ! Edit: Clarification : Mazzy won't see those aura hitting the graveyard since she will leave before the aura that way !
@ Shorikai I usually kill opponents with commander damage. I have several cards in my Shorikai deck that give it some sort of evasion (Manifold key, Whirler Rogue, Key to the City, Wonder, Akroma's Will, Rogues passage) which also support other deck's strategies AND several cards that give it double strike (duelist's heritage, Sigarda's vanguard) or buffs it via some thematic cards (Lion sash, Born to Drive). My friends spams the board with lots of mechs, evades boardwipes (and goads : D) because his vehicles are not creatures most of the time, and overwhelms opponents. We also focus on mechs with flying ; )
I was actually playing when Future Sight was out, but I don't think I've ever seen Emblem of the Warmind. SUch great tech: triggers enchantresses as well as aura-chantresses like Sram; gives haste and gets you extra value for being an aura. I was just going to jam Concordant Crossroads in my own list, but this is way better.
Marie kept Utopia Sprawl after Austere command hit enchantments? That's the biggest issue I find to auras on lands. They get forgotten or ignored in board wipes. Even wipes that *should* hit them.
Andrew, I feel like we're on the same deck wavelength. I built Shorikai recently and am considering a big creature cheating Satoru Umezawa deck. But watching some of your videos it seems like you disliked the deck. Did you feel like the strategy was always getting interrupted or that it wasn't consistent, or what did you dislike about it?
I think Voltron can be a very frustrating strategy to play, especially Aura Voltron, since all the stuff goes to the grave with your creature and people recognize you as a thread very early on Mazzy's great card design takes this frustration away and makes the strategy more fun to play in general. Can't wait to pick her up
Beggars can’t be choosers, and I support letting people enjoy the things they like. But man, I feel as if I’ve seen enough Shorikai decks for a lifetime. 😅 Almost every major YT channels features multiple Shorikai decks, tons of people online play him, and it always goes the same way with the same gameplay. It’s as if the people who play him FEEL like they’re really playing a lot of magic, but it’s just so valuey/ordinary. Can’t wait til content creators move on from him🥲 Glad people found a commander they’ve enjoyed though!

Unsure why you were all so afraid of kitt kanto, when mazzy was drawing 5 cards every turn
Halvar says equipped creatures “have” double strike, so there was no choice in whether it had double strike when it was swung
Yeah that was really weird when he mentioned that.

I saw so many judges in the comment section before I watched. Been watching since 2017. You a legend

So glad to see Mazzy in a game! Build mine last week with more of a sacrifice focus, but man does that deck pop off. Great showing by Marie!

FYI, turn 6 Marie attacks Tezzeret with a goaded creature. they can't attack planeswalkes (with a few exceptions to this)

Loved the Kitt Kanto precon!
Took Jetmir and made it the commander of the deck and didn’t have to make too many upgrades to the precon.

is this commander replay in the intro?

I bought the foil edghed Mazzy a while ago.
Thinking of switching up my Uril and go more wide with Mazzy.
im impressed by mazzy, having her as a voltron or a "goad" deck is very versatile

could've exiled two Auras in response to Mazzy's trigger. Would've definitely made Marie less of a threat.

Pretty new to the channel but I'm enjoying the content here
14:00 Felix missed his Sun Titan trigger to reanimate a 3 CMC or less permanent
He had nothing in grave to return

I mean despite being a problem the Kitt player still died first. I don't think goad is a problem. It's strong early but struggles to secure the win.
Austure command should have also destroyed the smuggles share from Felix right?
Yes, we missed that sadly.
Ah it was adressed in the aftermath :)
Same with the Utopia Sprawl - but it could have just been cast again with Mazzy either way, not much of a difference overall.
Kitt Kanto was naaaasty I love it!
what is the best wincon and why is it going wide combat damage?
I always forget that Shorikai doesn't have flying
Will I be able to get a goblin coin again?
The remainders from the KS campaign will be made available to my Patrons first, then publicly after that.
I have the same issues with my Shorokai deck.

Uril is the best aura/voltron commander. With hexproof (and totem armor auras), it's quite difficult to get rid of.
Kotori is a Better vehicles Commander, shorikai Is more combo
Dang really wish Maxine read their card. Orzhov advokist let’s each player put counters on their creatures this includes the advokists controller
He was putting them on his controller. I opted not to narrate that part because I felt it was obvious.
