Hello Brenton, so pleased you found my switch-on diagram useful. No longer a UK ham, G4PMY moved to ZL land in 2016, now ZL1PMY. Keep up the good work, good to encourage hams to dig in and have a go. 73s Joe
You probably don't have the radio available to you anymore for demonstration but I really wish I could find a video that outlines the use of the multimeter on the various components. I just purchased an IC-7000 from an estate sale that's doing the click noise/no boot up thing that wasn't resolved with contact cleaner and it'd be nice to see someone else verify the parts with me as I go. Appreciate your video!
LoL I was at the Channel Mens Shed here in southern Tasmania and they have a club station, anyway I was asked to make some changes to the IC-7000 used there... I got lost in the menu too! 😝
When I bought mine years ago I modded it so it actually did DXTV on low VHF and the test cards and tv signals showed on the lcd display. that was back when Europe used band 1 TV. I think only Poland and Russia run band 1 tv now. But It worked really well. Sadly I had to sell it to pay a big funeral bill. but hey ho, great lil rig. 👍

How was the mod done ?
I found that the fuses tend to corrode - the radio will come on but it won’t transmit. Take sandpaper to the prongs on both fuses.
