Subbed. Your method of presentation with lots of useful information without the know-it-all demeanor is greatly appreciated.

At least you got out there and had some fun. I haven't activated in way too long. It's always great to get outdoors and relax.

When you said you got busted, I though maybe the park ranger came by to complain about your antenna. 73 KD5YOU

No I just didn’t hit my numbers for the activation. It was a bust. Thanks for watching. 73s

Keep trying! My first activation attempt was similar. Just had my first official activation a few days ago. QRP makes it more challenging as I’m not lighting up the scopes. Try park to park, most will pull you from a pileup for the p to p.

Thanks for the advice. I have learned very quickly to start with a Park to Park to ensure everything is working well. Thanks for watching. 73s

When I need a freq, I sometimes check the QRT list and grab one that has been abandoned.
When the bands stink and nobody answers CQ POTA, I bring up the spot page and hunt P-P till I get 10.
It takes a little longer than the days when you get a pile up,
but you know that guy is just happy to hear you.... AND it's P-P !
Thanks for the video.... keep up the good work

It's like fishing. Some days you get all kinds of bites and some day you get nothing.

Ed, Thanks for the kind words. I was just watching your latest video, and you came back the next day and hit a home run. Well, that is POTA in a nutshell. I always say with UA-cam, every video lives on its own.I have another channel I have had for years now @jacksphotoandtech. Thanks for the great content, and I hope to catch you both on the air someday. 73s

There's nothing that steps on my last nerve like someone poaching my activation frequency. What I've discovered (and I am no expert by any means) is that in many cases it is accidental. Sometimes, a person is just being a LID. Either way, I move on because I love radio and refuse to let one bad experience cloud the otherwise sunny skies that is amateur radio. Sorry this happened to you. Thanks for the video. I always learn something new watching the videos of others...73...KN6KNB

Hey Jack, You are doing great and having fun. I'm getting back into CW as well. I'm really rusty but having fun. In fact, I will most likely be starting up with the Long Island CW Club to keep me inspired. 73 Stan NX3P
