I grew up next door to where the F-16 Fighting Falcon was manufactured and it’s an amazing aircraft but there will never be anything more bad ass & sexy to grace the skies than the Viggen!!
During the coldwar it was mayhem, they were only restricted to 10m over the ocean & lakes, and 20 over land. Alot of people had their windows blown off in there houses.
I was in a military exercise in northern Sweden in 1989 and the Viggen flew so low that you could see the rivets on the aircraft from the ground and all the snow on the pine trees blew off. The sound was deafening 👊🏻
So i know this is a joke, but i will still ruin it haha :D flying to low is not good because you have to maneuver so much. Somewhere between 250 and 500 is a good altitude to work with :)

Still, I would like to see USSR launch an attack on Sweden when we had three hundred Viggen and a additionally seven hundred attack planes to go with them. The USSR was incapable to meet the Swedish air force combined with the marine forces Sweden had at the time.

Det skulle jag se som en grav missanvänding av pengar. Jag hade hellre sett att man byggde ut värnpliktssystem under mantrat "Keep it simple stupid" Då får man en mycket större uthållighet i försvaret.

For a DCS: Viggen driver, that literally is high altitude flying... just sayin' :D

To avoid enemy radar and other aircraft, flying really low and really fast can be of advantage, not in terms of fuel savings though@@whosfinn420
