Thanks so much for sharing! I join you as fellow pilgrim. It is a lovely place to work for a couple of months voluntarily, for the general reasons as you say, Christian history. I would describe the working atmosphere as "fun, and happy". Unforgettable for the best possible reasons
I went there a couple of times over 30 years ago now, and stayed a few days each time, not in the community but independently. It was an extraordinary experience, quite transformative, I hope one day to go back.
Lovely place, love this Scottish islands, they radiate peacefulness and a slow paced life, and that church ❤ 🙌, well done and thank you for sharing 🤗 🥰
Thank you for sharing your trip Paul. It was lovely to see. Iona is 1st on my pilgrimage list when I get back home to Britain this year, after living in Australia for nearly 30 years. God bless.
Thank you Martin! It’s the stories too that go with it that really make it. If you keep an eye on the channel I went back a few days later with the sun out and a different mindset and the place became this amazing jewel. Stunning!
Lovely area for sure! Quite the history with those finds! Give me a little place there and the provisions I need and I think I could make that place home. Looks like there could be some very quiet and peaceful places found around! Thanks for sharing...Bruce and Otis
Hi Bruce and Otis! It’s an incredible place with a really special feeling. There are a few places there that if you got the chance to buy! But absolutely was on my bucket list and there will be another film from here but it will be the pop film, just full of views only! Hope all well Paul
Thank you for that. I went to Iona because I am often called IONA. People can't pronounce my name, ILONA, and I joke that I am not a Scottish island. I call it my island. 😆
Great presentation of the view, history, and especially the feel of Iona. Is there any evidence of the destruction brought about by the Vikings remaining?
Hi Mark thank you! I was nervous putting in some vocals this way for the first time so much appreciated. I quietly did listen to the tours going through and Vikings were not mentioned. The narrative at present is definitely focused on the here and now. Paul
It was actually 3000 souls who perished during the skirmish re: the manuscripts. He vowed to win 3001 souls to YAH’USHA HA’MASHIACH. THE British Isles is where the TRUE CHRISTIAN CHURCH FLOURISHED after the death and resurrection of YAH’USHA, NOT Rome. The EARLY CHRISTIANS were there long BEFORE the Romans.
Now the figure of souls I actually got from a textbook not Google but….. it was many souls. Having traveled to Jerusalem 3 times what is very clear is this. The island does feel way older as a Christian place of worship than anywhere I’ve ever been. It’s feels literally in the island itself. If you get the chance to visit I hope you can experience this too.
Well worth a visit .
Thanks for making this video...I hope to visit this place sometime!
Better than Jerusalem and I should know. P
