My name is Samantha Wayne and I have been creating advocacy videos on UA-cam since 2009. This channel was formerly known as Live Hope Lupus and was created in order to start a community for those living with chronic illnesses. In September 2019, I transitioned to a plant-based diet and I have found my body is responding well to it. Along with my lifestyle change, I am learning to alter my focus more on the positive. My current content will focus on my healing journey, what food I am eating, and everyday life. I will still be posting an occasional update about my health. I hope you all are ready to join me on this crazy journey of healing. We are all learning how to navigate this life together. If you have subscribed, thank you! I appreciate your support and look forward to talking with you all in the comments.

I appreciate your videos. I recently was diagnosed with costochondritis and totally relate. I just got the back pod and your video on it gave me hope. It seems there are times when that’s all we have…hope…to keep us going!

    1. Sciatica flare (full blown without any relief) for 6 months straight. I wanted to die. It started getting better at 7 months and subsided fully by month 8!
    2. RA hand flare when RA first manifested ( so far).
    3. Lower back/ Cervical neck flares.
    4. Migraines
    5. When I was 22, impacted wisdom tooth.

Thanks for sharing your list! I can’t imagine having sciatica for six months straight. I had it on and off for months and I remember that being frustrating.

100% agree with costochondritis as number 1. So painful. Had it for months found your video and heard about backpod. Between the backpod and prednisone really helped. Didnt help that i was in the middle of a massive lupus flare either.

Was diagnosed with Sjogrens 11 years ago via labwork and lip biopsy, which showed at the time that I was at Stage 2 (already affecting exocrine glands.

Ugh so sorry 😞 I have Sjögren’s & had surgery in March to diagnose & remove endometriosis…so far that has been my most painful condition 😖 I was on so many painkillers for years, but thankfully the surgery (which was really painful in itself) has helped SO much & im on Orilissa now. The side effects aren’t fun, basically menopause symptoms, but not having the level 10 excruciating endo pain is an absolute miracle! I’m just scared it’ll come back in a couple years when I have to stop the Orilissa 😣

I also have gotten costachoditits. Which is a very painful condition. At present time, I am having the skin rash. Due to the hot weather, where I live. I have made it top priority to stay out if the sun.

For me the costochondritis flare ups are the worst up there with my migraines and I live with endometriosis which was number 1 until I had hysterectomy 5 years ago and fibroids and cfs and to many other conditions I don’t want to complain about 😂 love your videos

My worst experience pain-wise was when I had a pneumothorax in my left lung. If you don't know, that is when your lung leaks air into the area between the lung itself and the chest cavity, meaning that air is outside the lung, taking up space that is usually taken up by the lung and therefore pressing on it as you breathe. It was so painful I simply couldn't take deep breaths, so I breathed vary shallowly instead to minimize the pain, gasping for air as I felt like I was suffocating. When the hospital staff asked me to try and take a deep breath I nearly fainted from the pain. It was very traumatic. It's the only time in my life that I have had morphine. I was in so much pain the hospital staff had to help me sit up and lie down - I just couldn't move by myself.

Ugh only loving this as a virtual hug. That sounds awful! Sounds like Costo times ten. Sorry you had to experience that!

    • @MrsHjort
      @MrsHjort Рік тому

@@HealWithSamantha Thank you, sending you a hug right back. Times like that really helps you get perspective on life, don't they? Healing fully took a lot of time and I was short of breath for about half a year after the pneumothorax itself was gone. It has made me thankful for every day that I have the ability to climb a stair or take a walk. So even though the experience was absolutely awful, it has also given me something. It's so cheesy to say that whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but it totally does.

Hey Sam, my fiance has lupus, she's currently having a roller-coaster of mood swings for quite a few weeks now and it happens everyday, while we were talking on the phone, just poof, suddenly she gets mad for no reason.
I just moved far away for a job promotion, and now it feels really really bad. How do i handle this situation, i don't wanna lose her or fall out of love, but this is extremely tiring, with my new job and her current situation.

Lupus caused a pulmonary embolism that would not go away which then turned into CTEPH and needed open heart surgery to correct otherwise it was fatal...thanks lupus 😑
Also up there was delayed wound healing and tissue death after delivery... That was another fun surgery I have lupus to thank for

@@HealWithSamantha May I ask why? I'm assuming it didn't work and that's why you stopped? I followed her protocol for a few weeks but had to stop due to symptoms of gluten consumption (I have celiac). Had bad hair loss, swollen eyelids, bad skin breakouts etc... Everyone says the protocol works, it would be helpful to hear someone's experience on why it didn't work for them...

@@dragonflyspirit I actually went into clinical remission last time I went full out on the protocol. Overall, I just don't find it sustainable long-term.
