...and all this time I have thought that if you get a really bad case of the blues you go bar hopping. If 8 bars ain't enough, you hit 4 more! I do love playing the blues but I don't go to the bars. Life is good! Happy Thanksgiving Michael! I am smoking a turkey at the moment.
@@johnwashburn3793 Got to love those 8 bars plus 4 bars blues. We smoked a turkey last year, it was great. Enjoy your turkey and have a happy Thanksgiving, my friend. M~
Great lesson as usual Michael, definitely sharing this to my cuz, I built his first cbg dog bowl resonator a few weeks ago. Thank you for that inspiration, 23" scale , he's loving his new journey 👍👍🇦🇺
This is awesome!! I'm currently building my first cigar box guitar I'm also currently waiting on parts and stings. I love your teaching videos they are very helpful And I think the 12 bar blues is the first thing I'll try and learn !! Thanks from your friends in Canada !!!!
Hey Mike, Steve from Perth Western Australia here. Love the Cigarbox Guitar that you personally made for me. Quality, Sound, and ACTIOn are just right. Perfect Mate. Can I ask you to do a video on how to go about selecting the right slide? Tried a few just cannot get it right like you guys, you US guys have been born with it. Either too big too small, too fat or too loose to fit in between my other finger to get the action you guys get. The US guys have many users I see but not so many in the Land of OZ(Australia)
Experiment. Have you tried 22ml copper pipe, or whatever is used in Australia to carry water. I made a few from wine bottles, with the added bonus of getting a little drunk. If you look on You Tube there are a few video's on how to make them, and they cost nothing.
@@dougscrivens4002 Thanks for the heads up. Not tried copper yet. Will give it a red hot go. the Wine bottles necks were too fat to work between my fingers, not comfortable. Will re try thinner and not as tapering, neck. Thanks again
Hi Steve, had the same problem, ended up with about a dozen slides that all doesn't seem to fit right. Then I found a short ceramic slide, just about 4cm long, so you can play all three strings or just one string with a little practice. C.B.Gitty has a video about it, he sells them too, or you might find some at amazon.
@@hazlehurst thanks for your follow up. I ordered one and got it all the way to the basket and the freight knocked it on the head. Freight from USA to Australia kills most of my dreams . Even getting the Making Poor mans Guitar book from "What's the Deal with Mr Shane Speal' doesn't justify the freight from the Freight companies. So I am on the look out for an alternative.
Start out with I enjoy all your videos both the building and playing. I am new to both and have never played an instrument before. So I was wondering can you do a few videos on exercises/drill to work on. I am thinking like up and down the neck drills with and without a slide, plus maybe some picking drills so its easy to learn the songs that you walk us through on your videos. I have been looking for drills/exercises everywhere and no luck. Thanks for all you have done on you tube to help all of us out………
Michael - thanks for another great lesson! Your explanation is very helpful! Sometime in the future could you do a lesson of the JJ Kale "They call me the breeze" 12 bar blues pattern? I know it's a little different and I have seen guys doing the Skynyrd version on a three string, but I like the Kale version better. A cup of joe is heading your way in advance! :)
Your very welcome, David. I like that version by JJ Cale and will look into a possible lesson on it. Thank you very muck for the cup o joe. It greatly appreciated. M~

Hey David. all is good, thanks. Ive only installed a few, but never done a video on them. M~
Only have little finger on left hand ,can I play one of these looks like fun.
Hi Butch, it may be a challenge at first, in till you get the hang of it, but you can play a lot of tunes using only one finger on these guitars. M~

Question, what kind of sneers are you using? 🙏💖🦌
Thanks Robert. Not sure what a sneer is. 😀
