Mom got set up on her first date after more than 30 years without being on one. Dating is never easy, but starting over at 76 is especially hard. How do you guys think it went?
When she said she won't go on a second date because of his lack of table manners, I thought she had *too high* standards. But when she described how he ate, I realized she *just has standards.*
Also the fact that he didn't ask any questions about her or her life. He just sat there bragging about himself the whole time. She deserves a lot better. Next!
@@addicted367 Sadly this is a fault of many men - they are self obsessed and don't even have the basic manners/empathy to feign interest in the attractive woman they're having lunch with! I've been on a lot of online dates, and it's incredibly rare I want to see the guy again. I'm a journalist, so asking people about themselves and showing interest in even the dullest person comes natural to me. But it never seems to occur to the guy that you are being polite! So many men are only too ready to believe you really do find him fascinating - and are amazed when you don't want to meet him again! DUH! I bet Dolly was charming to that guy, laughed at his dumb jokes and made him feel like a king - and I bet he was stunned when she didn't return his calls after the date. Because so many men are raised to be conceited and accept women's good manners as their due. Good on ya Dolly - there are very few quality single men out there. The best ones are taken. If they are single, it's usually for a good reason, because unlike discerning ladies (like Dolly), guys are not happy being single and do not want to remain that way for long!
I love the way your Mom and your Grandmother look right in your eyes while you talk. They lock eyes and listen intently to you. You have a beautiful family. So miss your grandmother. ❤
I totally get it! I cannot eat with someone who eats like that! It’s a real pet peeve with me. You saw enough red flags on one date because you’re a wise queen and deserve everything you want in someone you spend time with.
Your Mom is so beautiful and sweet that this man was trying to sell himself to her by telling her all about himself. You guys are the most amazing beautiful people that I've ever seen. I love you guys❤
Yep, it's sad really - I've been on dates with many men like that. They bore you to tears showing off about themselves, when they don't realise it would be so much nicer if they only had the empathy to show an interest in the woman they are having lunch with! Asking her a few questions and actually listening to the answers - hell, maybe even laughing at one or two of her jokes! Women are so good at doing this for men, but men are rarely able to return the compliment. They don't even have the sense/humility to realise the woman is being kind/flattering them!
My youngest daughter taught etiquette classes in Burbank for Cotillion events, though young men and women, they had better table manners! I totally agree Dolly!
When I'm with a woman, the last thing I want to talk about is me! People tell me I'm good looking and a great conversationalist, but I would ten times rather talk to and ask questions from my date than be bored talking about myself!

I found my mate when I was walking my dog and he was building a dog park. I'm an attractive older woman and had quit dating out of frustration like your mom. She is a beautiful woman with alot of style and energy. I hope the one that's intended for her shows up just like that!
, I'm with you Dolly. He is not worth your time to learn what he could have found out watching television if his parents were too stupid not to teach him. You have tons of confidence my dear!

I'm 75 and have met several men through online dating and the one thing that happens absolutely every time is that they talk about themselves constantly and ask nothing about me - and I mean NOTHING! I always leave the "coffee interview" wondering if they realize they know nothing more than what they knew about me an hour ago. I don't online date anymore - it's an exercise in frustration and, for me, so very disappointing.
Totally agree ! I recognize the type man , I had a few narcissistic friends. I love the way this lady is speaking so honest about the awful date. Real recognizable ! Thank you for this video !
Dolly, I am about your age and totally relate to this. I went to lunch with a guy who began by pulling out physical photos of all his possessions. Then he leaned over the table and told me very seriously that “no one has done the things I have done.” He never asked me anything. Another time I went on a hike with a guy who was eating a nectarine. When he was finished, he tried to hand off the pit barehanded, to a lady who was heading back toward the entrance. My daughter tried to set me up for “friendship” with a guy who turned out to have only three teeth and they were pointed straight out of his mouth, but apparently, he was “so nice.” Dolly, don’t let Gio or anyone set you up. I will only go out with someone I meet organically, and feel an attraction too, and it is apparent he is attracted to me. Probably won’t happen and I am fine with that. I love my single life.
You are sooo right!! A grown man who has not learned any simple manners at that age, he’s never going to change! I totally wouldn’t go out for a second date with someone who’s spitting food from his mouth like that; sounds like you made the best decision, justifiably so. 👏🏽
I feel for Dolly! I also laughed so hard when she got to the part about the wine glass! That date sounds like an SNL skit! And you know what? Dolly stuck to her standards. That is so important.
@avenginggoddess The SNL skit is a perfect analogy! I can totally see it now that you said it LOL Kudos to mom for keeping her class in such a horrid situation! I'd expect nothing less though from Dolly! I agree with sticking to your standards and believe in run, not walk, at the first red flag! No use wasting time to see if things get better or having to teach a grown man things he should already know!

I just found your channel and am hooked. I LOVE listening to you both talk and laugh. Dolly is simply a gorgeous woman and Giovanni is simply a very handsome man. I've watched some of your other videos and love them. I'm so sorry about grandma being gone, it hurts so much to lose a loved one, and the pain and tears come at the strangest times. Thank you for being who you both are, you. make me smile and I need that so much right now in my life. But Dolly, never settle just to have a man. I'm 67 and have been divorced for 19 years. After a 22 year marriage and severe abuse from him, I will never settle again. A nice man in my life would be wonderful, but I'd rather be single than be in an unhappy relationship, plus, so many men are just so ridiculous I can't stand it. After dating for a few years after my divorce, I was done. If it's meant to be, the right guy will come into my life as he should. Wishing you all the best❤
Oh poor Dolly.... I think she is now done with that?! She "friend- zoned" him in the end! Dolly is so cool and sassy too! Thank you for sharing the date story.
Ohhh Dolly! I almost fell out of my chair laughing! I totally agree with you regarding manners. And talking about himself always…ugh! You are doing fine Dolly! I think you will meet someone when YOU are ready! Thank you and Gio for sharing with us! Thank care and see you next time!🙋♀️😘
Sassy Gran would be so happy to see you two. The vlogs you put out are absolutely hilarious. Both of you are so funny. Your mom has a million dollar smile. So, so pretty.
I don’t blame you Dolly. No one wants a grown man who needs table manners training. Thanks for sharing your date with us. Gio was Tracking you that’s so sweet . I Need a Gio in my life, he’s an amazing son! ❤
You are SO brave, I was so hopeful when this video started. He sounded so good! I won't blind date either, if I'm supposed to meet someone at 67 years of age it will happen. Maybe at the grocery store! ;) Good on you for giving it a go, proud of you!!!
I'm glad Mom was open to go on a blind date and had the confidence to know her limits. Kudos for Ubering home. No matter how much you might want to find a love interest never deviate from your standards and always take care of yourself first.
Dolly, I totally agree. Talking with mouth full, leaving napkin on table(before or after using it), slurping, smacking, burping, picking teeth, are all major turn offs.
i’m happy to hear that you’re both picky regarding expectations in a “potential” partner. never lower your expectations…you both deserve the very best!! sometimes being single is better. every relationship costs some degree of time, energy and money. make certain each relationship is worth the total “cost”, and stay true to yourself. i love you like family! abundance, perfect health and prosperity to you! 🙏💐
Your mom is absolutely stunning but just being a woman we always worry about the stupid things like am I pretty enough and my young enough LOL... I'm glad she has you and your tracking her 🥰
Oh goodness I feel her totally !!! I've been through that exact thing and it is a turnoff . You would think by that age people would have it down but there's just as much drama and all that no matter what age. I swear dating is hard
Gio you're so protective. You tracked your Mom's movements. So sweet and these days you just can never tell. I watch a lot of True Crime videos and so many things can go wrong on blind dates....spraying and projectiles being one of those things. 🤣 Gio, were u hiding behind the menu sitting at another table?
She’s so beautiful. I can’t believe she’s 76 and can’t believe she hasn’t dated all those years but I admire that. Stay safe and wise and so smart to Uber.
Why is that admirable? Having high standards is admirable, but it’s not even like she was dating at all during that time. She was just alone, which is fine if that’s what you want, but I’d hardly call it “admirable”.
Thanks for sharing your date experience. I shared with my adult son, so he can take note for advice. Got to train up our sons to have manners and be gentlemen.
She says hes probably used to younger, prettier and a professional girl.....oh you are that and so much more..you are geniune and real ..that is priceless.
Wow, you both dodged creeps! Hang on to your high standards! Mom's date sounded horrible, but I hope it doesn't keep her from still considering others. I love how you watch out for her!
Awesome video, I’m so glad your mum is smart to figure her date out. The last thing she needs is a narcissist. She is very beautiful and intelligent, she deserves someone who is genuinely interested in her. God bless to you & your mum, keep up the great vids 🙏❤️
The firecracker beauty just made my day! ❤ I totally get the table manners and the narcissistic me-me-me turn off! I’ve seen some men who are pretty gorgeous and then… they open their mouth. Done. So Done. So funny to suggest she cook for him! 😂 Believe me, “catching” a man with food is not all it’s cracked up to be. If I were a man I would definitely go to charm school before even thinking of this Beauty!
It would be fun to watch some under cover dates with your mom and all of her reactions that would be a show in itself she has so much spunk it's going to be hard to find someone she really likes the older we get the more hard it is to please us especially if your ok with being your on person.! Good luck 👍 ❤
Girl that is the truth!! My upbringing was too, strict at the table… it’s a MUST. It’s just part of the basics! I so get you, please., run…don’t walk! “Check yourself before you wreck yourself!’ I’m crying I’m laughing so hard! ❤️
Lol I’m like your mom when it comes to the chewing thing ugh. That’s so gross. I love her honestly. She’s adorable. She deserves the best. ❤️ She deserves someone who’s INTO HER & not just himself geez. Gio your story was creepy about that woman constantly asking you to kiss her. You’re extremely attractive but for her to randomly ask over & over is weird. You have A LOT to offer as well. What a great man you are & it’s so hard finding that anymore. I can relate as I’m still single, no kids & never been married. Constantly being asked why I’m still single it’s annoying. My response is, “ I don’t know, ask God.” Why do people ask that question? 🤦🏼♀️
I’m with you beautiful Dolly. You’re happy with the life you already have. Many years ago I had a date with a man with lots of money. At dinner he treated the wait staff horribly. He was rude, obnoxious, and cruel. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Never went out with him again. Keep your high standards Miss Dolly. Love you both ♥️💕. Connie Gross
I’m with you girl. I don’t know how you sat through that. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a companion, but hearing your story just reinforces my plan to stay single.
Table manners is very important to me too. At the age of 55 i meet a man, and we date but did not go out for a eating experience. He himself come out of a very bad divorce, his wife left him for a other women. He get hurt very badly. He too just talk about that, and never move outside of that rage. Shortly after that we attend a braai at a friends house, and later catch him in the kitchen eating all the leftovers on the plates, with smacking sounds and weird noises. Unfortunetely we work in the same building, but i never go out with him ever again. Shortly after my 57th birthday, a friend phone me that he have a heart attach and died. He was laid off at work, took his severage package and bought himself a petrol station. It was not successful and lost all his money. The shock was too much and he died. I am 65 now, and never date again, i just simply didnt want to teach him manners, or teach him anything. Most of them are smokers and with asthma, is a big no no. Then these old guys all have prostrate problems. Or are looking for someone to look after him, clean and cook, and seeking a place to die. And a place to be fed. No thank you. I am now on my own for 25 years, and i am okay on my own for now.
I 100% agree w you. I'm in my 60s. I went on a date with a very similar.... actually almost exact. I decided that I can't do it again...if someone does that on the first date, can you imagine what the future would be...anyway...I said I was done too and I am. I don't blame you.......
Omg... As your mom is telling the story about Mr. Manners and his horrible table habits all I kept thinking was Good Lord, I can see the look on Sassy Gran's face, laughing and rolling her eyes, all the way from heaven! You guys are so delightfully funny! 💜 👀😂
I laughed out loud so many times during this. You guys are funny, and very entertaining to watch!!😂 Gio, I also almost 🤮 at one point! lol lol Thanks for the laughs, guys!❤️❤️
It's just one date. I hope she hasn't given up already. I want her to go on some more, plus I love hearing about them. I was cracking up when she was imitating him smacking his food 😂🤣🤣
It's very hard to get back into the dating scheme as a senior. I have been widowed for almost 12 years and the idea of looking for another life partner is scary. The online thing is not for me and the grocery store or church or hardware store even might be the best place to meet someone. Be satisfied with your own single life first. Never be 'desperate' for a +one.
Gio, your Grandma & Mother are exceptional. It is lovely to see your Mom shine ✨️ now! My favorite thing about all of you, despite all you may have monetarily, you are truly good people who are not snobbish in any way. Such strong, smart & beautiful women in your life. I think they are rare jewels!! I kinda feel bad, it cannot be easy for a woman you date to live up to their example!!!!
At our age we need to be picky! Good for your mom! And a man not asking about you is a really bad sign! They are egotistic. Plus you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
You could not pay me enough to deal with a grown ass man I had to train. Even with Dolly's good looks, pickings are slim (to none) at a certain age. Thanks for sharing, Gio..I miss Gran, but, love you guys. 🤗💕
I totally agree! I recently met an older man, I'm 53, and his table manners are atrocious. Smacking, stuffing his mouth while he talks. Then he goes to fix me a plate, cuz I said I wasn't hungry at that moment. He spoons some potato salad on my plate, then takes a bite of my food & dips it back into the food. Ugh! I asked him why he was double dipping, he got very defensive & I left; w/o the food. Oh, and all he talks about is himself, how he's the greatest. Its almost like he's trying to prove something. Well like Mary J says, "u can't raise a grown man". I'm too old & really like being single.
When she said she won't go on a second date because of his lack of table manners, I thought she had *too high* standards. But when she described how he ate, I realized she *just has standards.*

Your Mom is Gorgeous!!
Dodging Spittels , Hilarious!! Dolly give it another try. I love that you're doing videos with Gio.
OMG. This is so awesome. You're Mom knows what she wants in a man, and he certainly wasn't it. 🥰
I agree with your mom. I would not give him a second chance.
She's a smart lady. That guy doesn't need to know where she lives LOL
I can totally agree with everything your mom has said.Your mom has the most beautiful personality & sense of humour.✨💗
Table manners are very important for me too.
I agree with Dolly. Talking about himself the entire time is a major turnoff. Thanks for sharing. Love hearing more about your family.
Love you guys! "Check himself before he wrecks himself " love it!!
“Check yourself before you wreck yourself” 😭😭❤️ Love ya Dolly
Gio you're so protective. You tracked your Mom's movements. So sweet and these days you just can never tell. I watch a lot of True Crime videos and so many things can go wrong on blind dates....spraying and projectiles being one of those things. 🤣
Gio, were u hiding behind the menu sitting at another table?
I love your mom interview about her date, there is nothing wrong being particular.
Hi Giovanni. I am so delighted to see your mom has recovered from her care in hospital. Please God it will continue. Slainte. 🇮🇪
Getting out there is hard. Don’t give up.
I agree Dolly!!! No narcissist or bad table manners!
Wow, you both dodged creeps! Hang on to your high standards! Mom's date sounded horrible, but I hope it doesn't keep her from still considering others. I love how you watch out for her!
That lady in the bar hitting on Gio sounded wasted
Awesome video, I’m so glad your mum is smart to figure her date out. The last thing she needs is a narcissist. She is very beautiful and intelligent, she deserves someone who is genuinely interested in her. God bless to you & your mum, keep up the great vids 🙏❤️
Oh Gio, you cracked me up when you mentioned Pickled Pigs Feet! That was hilarious! You & your mom are so funny!
She's so beautiful and honest I feel for her experience she deserves better
😂😂😂 that would be entertaining.
@@Luciacrestina , It really would!!
Girl that is the truth!!
My upbringing was too, strict at the table… it’s a MUST. It’s just part of the basics!
I so get you, please., run…don’t walk!
“Check yourself before you wreck yourself!’
I’m crying I’m laughing so hard!
I totally agree with your mom that table manners being humble and sense of humor very important
I’m with you beautiful Dolly.
You’re happy with the life you already have.
Many years ago I had a date with a man with lots of money.
At dinner he treated the wait staff horribly.
He was rude,obnoxious, and cruel.
HE SOUNDS LIKE NARCISIST TO ME, ITS ALL ABOUT THEM
Omg... As your mom is telling the story about Mr. Manners and his horrible table habits all I kept thinking was Good Lord, I can see the look on Sassy Gran's face, laughing and rolling her eyes, all the way from heaven! You guys are so delightfully funny! 💜 👀😂
Your Mom is adorable!
I love when Dolly said she was confident enough to leave!! ~💜🌻
Your mom is hilarious, she takes after her mom. She should be Sassy Mom, Dolly.
I suffered through those type of dates….it is exhausting. Narcissistic, lack of manners and not asking about me.
I laughed out loud so many times during this. You guys are funny, and very entertaining to watch!!😂
Gio, I also almost 🤮 at one point! lol lol
Thanks for the laughs, guys!❤️❤️
Omg! Sassy Gran came for a visit. Watch Mom’s face. Love these genes ❤❤❤ Go on another. This is a new refreshing chapter. Mom’s dating diary.
Gio, your mom is an inspiration to me!
100% with you regarding table manners! Such a wonderful lady, and hilarious.
😂❤good to see you out there having fun
Gio, your Grandma & Mother are exceptional. It is lovely to see your Mom shine ✨️ now! My favorite thing about all of you, despite all you may have monetarily, you are truly good people who are not snobbish in any way. Such strong, smart & beautiful women in your life. I think they are rare jewels!! I kinda feel bad, it cannot be easy for a woman you date to live up to their example!!!!
At our age we need to be picky! Good for your mom! And a man not asking about you is a really bad sign! They are egotistic. Plus you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
She is right! Keep her standards! Love following her. Beautiful, wise & classy!
That’s right Dolly! Be choosy! You are more than a bag of chips! ❤️
That's gross 🤣🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
@@celticwarrior777 Exactly!!! An I'd only known this man 5 days at that point.
