- Pacifist speedruns and challenges have existed for what seems like forever in gaming. But what happens when our friend Mario tries this same challenge with the potential legal repercussion of going to jail if he fails?

Just to clear things up, when writing the script I was aware the broodals "come back" later and that the majority of the game doesn't take place in the mushroom kingdom. However if someone killed me and I came back later I'd still be upset, also I prefer to think that peach is the de facto shadow leader of the entire world Mario takes place in.

Technically Peach's law on murder only applies to the Mushroom Kingdom, she doesn't govern anywhere else in the world, and since you start in cap kingdom, there's no illegal murder. Run solved, Mario can kill legally!
Ah, you fail to consider that when Mario and Cappy return to the Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the game they are still murderers.
@@Shadow-cp5er They did all of them in other countries, you can only be prosecuted if you did the crime in that country, and since no other place outside of the Mushroom Kingdom made murder illegal, you can just go back there and be fine! Tho since the Mushroom Kingdom is a monarchy, Peach can do whatever she wants, she could put anyone in jail or banned from her kingdom without anyone being able to oppose her, so it's kind of pointless to point out the flaws in these arguments I suppose. 🤷🏻♂️

There's something about Mario about how even the most pacifist of runs ends up causing multiple families great grief.

I love how this is a challenge video with no hard set rules but is instead more creative. reminds me of when I was a child and tried to challenge myself but didn't really have them to strict in a way I could get very creative!

One of the reasons this video is so good is simply how much effort was put into it. The paper models, editing and simply figuring out what footage to get must have taken a super long time

Another way to take this: the broodal fights just make topper, harriett, etc… teleport to a sleeping chamber where they regain their strength, and you know they are all fine, because they are all with each other on dark side. :)

Technically since Princess Peach only rules the Mushroom Kingdom, she has no control over the other kingdoms meaning that murder is in fact legal as long as it isn’t in the mushroom kingdom.

They do die but they have infinite lives so they come back after they die

*technically* a ghost, they can just phase out
and given their known abilities, they can, at any time, take over the body of anyone, and change appearance to not only take over their body; but make it seem like that person is still normal, and not possessed by a ghost

When Cappy lands on the head of something, Cappy takes control of their mind and (by proxy) allows Mario to control them.
When Mario first puts Cappy on, he gets "captured", and thus cannot control himself.
Provided the bosses are killed without Cappy being thrown, you could argue that it was not voluntary, and thus not murder.
Dang Cappy really went all out. Poor innocent Mario. Loved the editing and how the story was being built as the video went on! Ahaha

Technically, since Mario is acting on behalf of the Mushroom kingdom he could be considered a police officer (saving the ruler multiple times) and if that doesn't apply you could plead Good Samaritan laws (helping the princess) which means you could be found innocent even when technically committing crimes.
