    I really needed to hear this. I didn't realize how much I lived in a state of constant fight or flight until I started working on my OCD. Your videos really help because I can't afford CBT.

    I'm a member of a few online OCD support groups. I typically stay away from them because, with few exceptions, they're inundated with people making ridiculous (and to me, offensive because of how unscientific they are) claims that things like supplements or vitamins will not only treat, but CURE your OCD, despite there being no known cures for the disorder
    What are you supposed to do in situations like that? People frequently say potentially harmful and scammy stuff in those groups. Do I speak up or just let it go since the mods clearly aren't going to do anything about it?

      I would report the posts. In my online groups I have so many keywords and protections setup that those kind of posts rarely ever go through. It's sad people exploit and scam others.

    I’m curious if you have ever seen the ocd/anxiety/intrusive thoughts stick for a long time surrounding liquids, ie; water, etc or food? For context, maybe a person constantly fears they’re going to drink too much fluid throughout the day so over time they get to where they can’t tell when they’re thirsty or not leading to dehydration. Or, maybe a persons ocd has latched onto the fear of eating too much? Maybe it’s not to the point of anorexia but similar in some ways? CBT teaches the person to confront their fears. Do what the ocd is telling you not to
    Do. In the case of consuming too much liquids or food, you can in fact over do it and harm yourself. I’m not sure what advice to give someone in this type of predicament.

    Nathen what do you do when you can't differentiate from the anxiety that's driving you in ocd and rational fear that's evolved from a current situation even if it's real life ocd😢,
    And not make yourself vunerable around people that aren't safe

    Lol!!!!! How do you know a fellow Gen-x-er? He has a story in which he earns $300! Rides a bike to WESTERN UNION, and gets scammed out of $300 and his parents only just now found out about it. 🤣 Oh, and all this was done on the house phone. Not a sneaky cell phone. Loved this story so much.

    I have a real-event obsession that's been going on for a month and nothing I do (this included doing nothing and doing things that make me anxious) is making it go away. I've let it sit in the back of my mind for weeks and although sometimes it feels like I've gotten rid of it, all it takes is a few seconds for me to remember what I was anxious about and then it comes right back. I can't help remembering it.
    Also, my thinking is so obsessive that sometimes I disregard my conscious brain and act almost purely on gut instinct. This has caused me to make many mistakes, such as breaking things. Before, it was my OCD that caused me to break things. I have no idea how to separate a normal thought from an obsessive thought, as it seems that if I think about anything for even a few seconds my OCD is fueled.

      Trying to determine what’s OCD and what’s not OCD will make it only worse i have/had gender obsessions and trying to figure out what’s really me and the OCD just created more doubt, it’s SO HARD but you have to just accept the anxiety say maybe, maybe not that’s the only thing that’s gotten me through it this far I’ll pray for you ok how hard it is to cope with this I believe jn you
