dear sir if you okay with (time period ) program calculated value then how can we learn about user define ! if you know the calculation of user define please make a video on it , try to make details video ,
For seismic Load what is the difference if i will use EX and check all 3 (ex, ex+y eccen and ex-y eccen) And the 1 u used Ex+ and check only ex+y eccen??? (Same with Y direction)
Asslamualikum sir I have design with seismic x and y with a correct procedure but it only shows deformation shape only in x direction . In y direction it doesn't show anything plz tell me. Sir my second question I have etab 2016 ultimate 16.2.1. can I use it some people said that their is error in some version. Thank you
W.Salam, dear, i myself using ETABS 2016 which is okay, i have not face any such issue........ I think when you have defined load pattern in Y-DIRECTION.... you have not selected for y-direction earthquake.....(please re-check your load pattern) ... if you still have issue.... please feel free to contact.
Hello Sir, Would you explain how to apply vertical seismic force in ETABs model? As here IS Code is in practice this is mentioned in IS 1893:2016 Clause 6.3.3
For Equivalent frame method; there is no option for vertical component..... If you want to use vertical component than you have to perform TIME HISTORY ANALYSIS .
@@civilmdc Thank you sir, I found the option for UZ direction of force in Response Spectrum method in ETABs but since there is no vertical component in equivalent static method to scale it with, the only option remains is Time History analysis which is a bit tedious! I practice in IS code so.. Hope the IS code ellaborates more on the issue in the future publications!
@@civilmdc On some Seismic Codes, it is required to take also vertical earthquake component into consideration, under some circumstances (e.g. on Eurocode 8, you should also calculate the vertical component, when there are columns which are not continuous to foundation)
if you apply a selfweight multiplier of 1.0 for super dead in etabs and run the same model with staad pro, the results are almost the same but when you make the selfweight multiplier 0 for super dead loads in etabs, the etabs results are far lower than that of staad pro, any reason for this?

Thanks
Learning alot from yuor videos
Thanks Buddy
How do I modify the angle of inclination, whether of the dynamic or static earthquake?
I appreciate your effort for us sir.....Could you please upload the video which describes applications of vertical load I ETABS as per IS1893-2016

Sir, can we define floor finish and wall load as 'Dead Load' with self weight multiplier as 'o'?
Yes... Use 1
@@civilmdc Thanks.

Hi, dear Bro, First of all , we ignore vertical component ,,,, because only Horizontal components are important for earthquake analysis.
For Equivalent frame method; there is no option for vertical component..... If you want to use vertical component than you have to perform TIME HISTORY ANALYSIS .

How are you sir ! Please upload here etabs file of this
Plz provide all the pdfs in descriptions also
Dear,
All links are available in the description of each video
@@civilmdc Thank you. It is quite an amazing experience learning from you. Kindly install etab detail V18 n upload some tutorials on it too
SIr Kindly Provide UBC-97 Code Book link.. I'll be really grateful... Thankyou.

Sir you have taken Earthquake In -x and +x direction separately, but some people takes it together kindly reply
Both methods are okay

You can get exact results and come to conclusion... Which one is good....
Perform manual and compare...

Thanks Brother.
@@civilmdc Wlcm Bro!
sir i have ETABS 18 so UBC 97 is not available in codes in my software
In 2018 ... UBC not present...
Use other versions of Etabs
