Yeoman Warder Jason Woodcock was great! Wish I could've been there; I'd have asked to get my picture taken with him! 🥰 All the Yeoman Warders are wonderful representatives of English tradition and history. Thank you for sharing this video. 😊
These Yeomen Warders are great, they make the history a bit more interesting then what it would have been. Great job guys, great job. Thanks for up loading this video, I truly enjoyed it.
Great way to pass on the gift of History. Deviant burials of the time could also have been buried face downwards to deny the person resection on the last day. It was also believed that to be raised from the grave, a person must be buried whole and by ordained clergy. Not only were the executed condemned on Earth they were condemned to hell. I agree with the comment about Lady Jane Grey, Mary l was as evil as her father. Many reformed martyrs died because of her religious intolerance.
Did they not let you go near the altar? I'd die to see Anne Boleyn's grave plaque up close, and know she's just 4 inches down below. Thanks for the video!
I asked a warden if I could take photos of Anne's and Katherine s plaques ( 2 years ago now you can take photos in Chapel)he let me go and take them quickly. something I had wanted to do for years.
I still can't believe that executions were such an event, even in the United States. It's so crazy to think that children were bearing witness to deaths while enjoying a picnic with their family.
They didn't have TV or movies and the peasants couldn't read so this was their only entertainment. Their version of horror (live). Times were hard, people weren't easily shocked.
He was off on a lot of things. Anne Boleyn didn't beg for a French executioner. One was ordered before the trial even took place and she was found guilty. The executioner didn't hold Anne head in the air either. It is some of the facts that annoyed me about that tour
Let us not forget the War of 1812-1814 when the Royal Navy sailed up the Potomac river and set fire to the White House, the Americans had to white wash it to cover up the fire damage, which is why it’s called the White House, the Americans then sued for peace at the end of 1814, even though they won a battle at the end (the battle of New Orleans), but the war was already over at that point so the stupid fuckers were still fighting even though they’d already lost. That’s america and they’ve been working for us ever since!

That was fabulous. Thank you for posting this highly entertaining and informative video 🖤
I’ve done the tour a couple of times. Fantastic, the tower is one of my favourite places.

Gday. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Loved this ❤
Let us not forget - ALL of these former senior military personnel have likely seen things that you and I cannot even dream of!

In Lewes on Bonfire Night seventeen of those martyrs, local men and women, are still remembered

It's on the floor behind the yeoman
When we were in that chapel - the Yeoman Warder Gary would not allow us to take photographs.
Same
Probably had to ask permission beforehand
@@20PINKluvr in places of worship , like the Chapel , photography is banned
"Aaand this today is known as severance pay....." **Crickets.... 🤣
Is the audience allowed to file past the alter to see Queen Anne’s grave?
yes
I was in bucking ham palace
I thought your not allowed to film or take pictures in the chapel?
I was told it was okay and was not the only one taking photos and filming.
@@robrobthompson interesting. I wonder if it depends on the Yeoman or if they changed the rules
They've changed it now.
And in Westminster Abbey you can now take photos
Aha!!, could this be a suitable replacement for the one and only William Edward Callaghan?
NOBODY CAN REPLACE BEEFEATER BILL
Fingers crossed .

What a blood thirsty history this place has.
Below
The bodies are in the walls of the Chapel
At the altar.
very good video exceptional places need a good fire in their bellies
Hes a bit off. Its a palace not a prison.
It has been used as both.
