    I've never seen Farag bring any negative emotions to the court.
    Asal looked like he was turning a new page prior to this tournament. This tournament looks like he reset the last couple of years.

    This guy has perfected and masked the skill of decepting referees. He is doing these little dirty things of moving away just in the nick of time or restricting the opponent's movement. All these put the opponent off, or does not allow opponent to move fast enough to shots. At this level, even a split second will disadvantage the opponent. The last shot says it all. Instead of moving backwards, the perpetrator moves slightly forward, which prevented Faraq from moving diagonally to the ball, hence not being able to reach the ball. It's sad.

      I agree. It's frustrating because Asal is immensely talented, and even without all the shenanigans he'll be a multiple winning world champion. But his childish and diabolical antics are infuriating to watch, and inevitably taint the overall sport of squash. However, I guess football has its diving...so perhaps this is just the cross squash needs to bear.

    I clearly understand Farag's frustration. I haven’t seen the rest of the match, but the last point alone explains it, as it's clear that Asal always looks for some interference in the center with Farag. Asal stands out for his precision and power, but unfortunately, I clearly see that he also stands out for seeking the other player to interfere just enough. If this continues to be allowed, squash will start to resemble the worst aspects of football, where it’s not just about playing the ball but also about obstructing the opponent. And I’m sorry, but squash is a more dignified sport than that.

    Can't tell from the highlights, which mostly look clean. But Asal must have done a lot of borderline movement stuff to work Farag up like that. Asal is so talented, but it makes the sport much worse when the winner brings out the worse in competitors. It forces them to play a game that is antithetical to squash. We are supposed to collaborate in letting an opponent get to the ball. Asal forces players to either be dangerous in competing for space or get the officials involved. Not how it's supposed to be.

      It is fantastic how Asal frustrates Farag and exposes what a hack Farag is. Yes, maturity is a bit lacking at the top of the squash rankings. It's high time for WSF to review rules 8.1 to 8.12 with their 30 paragraphs (!), otherwise Squash will make a brief appearance at the next Olympic Games (like Breakdance).
    This sport, whose universality is equivalent to Basque Pelota, has become bland to watch at a high level, with its procession of interferences, judged in a surprising manner.
    This observation is highlighted by the excellent preparation level and game perception by pro players and a refereeing corp out of step with what is happening on the court.

  • @ahmedhameed7252
    @ahmedhameed7252 2 години тому +1

    Farag recovered well from his long Semi-Final. A very tough Final by the looks of it. Asal must have played really well to win.
    Asal's racket setup and overall preparation over the past two tournaments seems to be very effective. When he goes in short or for a kill shot he looks confident and not worried at all even if its not a clean finish. The ball seems to be bouncing and landing more in his favor than you would generally expect, even when he doesn't seem to execute well.
    Currently he seems to able to take a swing at the ball much more freely. That high volley backhand straight knick he hit is one you do not often see.
    With Asal exerting more pressure with his shots, any blocking from his side if it happens may become even more difficult for referees to notice.
    If Farag figures out how Asal is executing so well in his attacks and is able make the adjustment in his own timing and racket setup for his attacks then it will get very interesting.

    Este es el arbitraje que va a dominar la PSA hasta los juegos olímpicos.
    Farag se queja de interferencias y el árbitro tiene que verlas de oficio aunque sea una vez.
    El grito final, aunque obvio, es innecesario por lo que la victoria es justa

    I think Farag's frustration with the arbitration decisions in 2 consecutive games. He came on top in the first game, didn't in the 2nd! To me, he is one of the legends of this generation, if not of all times. What became obvious is how one sided the PSA commentators as well as some crowds againt Asal all the times! In the last 2 games, Ellis and Asal blocking (i.e. using their body advantages) and yet its Asal again.
