    Neen said that he only does this sometimes and I'm pretty sure it's because when they press boards they press 10 at a time. So the boards at the bottom of the stack of 10 are steeper than the ones at the top and those boards at the bottom are the ones that Neen has to run over. Also if I remember correctly Paul Rodriguez said in a nine club podcast episode that he specifically asks for the 4th board in the stack.

    • @nw8488
      @nw8488 3 роки тому +14

      This is correct, the place i worked (PennsWoodMFG, PA USA) pressed 6 at a time iirc, this is done for obvious manufacturing reasons. I think the amount pressed at a time varies due to the presses used. I think ours were made custom so they may have been smaller than what a big mass production shop would use.

    I really appreciate this man for making a choice to live a clean cut, and healthy lifestyle still skating! At that to be from the Baker team which was most notorious for living the party life, and skating. Not trying to offend anyone, but just have to express my appreciation for Neen. I’ve come along ways in life in general, to better myself mentally, spiritually, and physically. I have always loved skating ever since I picked up a board when I was 11, and I’m 26 now. I work out now almost everyday, been completely sober for almost 3 yrs, and I love Jesus(-: so thanks again Neen for being the awesome skater you are, and big inspiration to many people out there! God bless everyone!

      I just got an 'almost: yuri twisted' deck with steep kicks,full shape, and resin 7 construction and it definitely feels like I get more pop on flat ground, but it took me a whole day at the park to get used to ollieng while going up banks again with the same height and consistency, still not sure if I have it down as good as I did with my standard deathwish deck. I could have just been coincidentally having an 'off' day. I think once I am used to it I will like it a lot, for the most part it already feels pretty great. I understand the logic behind flat decks too though, mostly a matter of preference and being accustomed to a specific specification.

      Skated a TON of Almost/Blind Dwindle decks and I love the concave and depth. That being said I’m 260+ lbs so I think mellow vs steep has been less of an issue skating through the years, my bigger issue comes from strength and resilience of the board. Dwindle’s resin7 is the strongest epoxy I’ve used on a standard deck (not impact) and that solves my issues of breaking boards left and right. I think when you skate for so long, you learn what the issues you experience are and find ways to address them just like Neen has done here.

      I microwave my shoes (maybe 30 sec total) then bend and flex them then wear them for a little around the house before I skate them.

    Doing this to Santa Cruz Everslick. Way too steep tail n nose for my taste. Thanks for the vid!

    I believe daewon song used to run his car only over his tails and would leave the board squashed overnight. This was back when he skated for almost, now he moves his boards further on the board press to have a flat tail and a regular nose. He says he likes to feel like there is no tail, i have no clue why, but It definitely works for him...

I was so pissed...i immediately dried it off and also used a heat gun. i was so worried but the board actually still feels and sounds the same...didn't loose that new board poppy sound..coudln't believe it. Sold on Deathwish boards!

    It really does come down to what is personal preference and what makes you feel comfortable and connected to your board. I do think it makes sense that mellow boards give you more control, which is great IF you have that control - for me more control does not mean easier to skate - it makes it harder. Same way super loose trucks give you more control - you need balance, like Daewon, to actually take advantage of it

      For reference, if anyone cares, on thunder teams and 52mm wheels the tail measured 5 1/16” from the ground before and about 4 7/8 after. There might be a little more flex, but it’s much more to my shape preference now.
