+sam torres Thank you, you're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
LongviewGarage You sure could but my black ink is a little thick so I used the 160. But a higher mesh count with a thinner black should make a nice soft feeling print. Thanks for watching.
You are a great teacher. Glad you do these.
You’re very welcome, glad you liked. Haha that was too much fun ;) Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
@Slow Release, You’re’ welcome, my pleasure. The answer is on the About Us page in the section where it talks about the name and logo. Swan Song is the answer. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Bought most of my equipment from Catspit. Been binge watching your videos. Highly informative and entertaining. That slow motion sequence was awesome LOL!!
Awesome. Thank you for your business. I'm glad the videos are helping out. You might like the new tutorial website I'm trying to build. I want to put all 10 years of my screen printing videos and articles, which include my book about screenprinting, into 1 organized online course. It will put the relevant videos in the appropriate sections of the book so you can learn the process in sequence form one place. Hopefully it will work out. Should be like $19.95 per month. It will also have other features like tech support, exclusive videos and a Q&A video live stream each month plus more as we grow it out. Thanks again for your support! Thanks for watching! Thanks for the sub :) I appreciate your support. Check out some of my newer videos too. I'm going on 10 years here on UA-cam in 2019! I produce about 1 video each week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But I am still making screen printing videos. I'm very happy to know you enjoy my video work. Thanks for watching! LOL ;) Thank you! You’re very welcome and thanks for watching & commenting! ☠
I really appreciate these videos. I am a self-taught screen printer. Your videos have been instructive correcting some of my bad habits. Thank you,
@OldSkoolSkateHouse, I do all the video work myself. I did 2 or 3 strokes because that black ink I was using was a bit thick and it was on a 160 mesh. And I needed it for the size. Otherwise I would have used a 70 with 2 or 3 strokes. Thanks for watching!
Always a pleasure to watch your tutorials 😀I should comment more!!!!

I've only had those bumps of emulsion when coating an 80 mesh or lower (fly screen basicly) with the blunt side of the scoop coater (2/2). Great tip on spraying out the stencil. Don't over work it folks. Stacking tips are also spot on. If you are printing on an automatic press by yourself or manually printing this lets you load and offload like a champ. Take the extra two or three minutes while stacking your shirts to lay the hems flat, unfolded, and even. It will pay off, especially if you are printing both sides of the shirt. People tend to role up the bottom of the shirt when loading. Unrolling that hem makes it great for the press operator/screenprinter an it also makes it great for the customer. The shop where I work just had a customer compliment us on how our shirts are always wrinkle free and flat. The little details count.
I usually always use the thin edge of the scoop coater but sometimes I get a little excess at the sides and top when I stop. That can dwell into a dimple especially at the corners. But it's not in the way of anything so the screen is still usable. Yes, I agree. Those details count. I remember in the 80's my brother had a shop and we used to throw the shirts in a box just as they fell into the dryer basket all crumpled and wrinkled. LOL... then at some point I do recall flat folding them in sizes and dozens. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/

Great video! I’m looking at getting the cool cat start up set up soon, but I have a couple of concerns. I’m doing the printing in my garage due to a lack of space, and I obviously don’t have a wash station like you do. Do you have any suggestions or advice when it comes to washing the screens and working in a garage.
Side note I love the fact that this video is several years old and you take the time and reply to comments!
Thank you! Yeah you'll have to either work in a slop sink or try to use a shaded space outside the house where you can not worry too much about staining. Some people work in their showers somehow. You may need to get creative with what you have. I try very hard to reply to all comments on all of my over 550 videos. Glad you noticed. I have been making videos on UA-cam for 10 years now and have consistently answered questions and comments all the time ;) Thanks for watching! good video.
Do you not find that keeping a factory edge on the film positive to be helpful when pre-registering on your screen before exposing the emultion?

like the way you did with the shirt on slow mo.
question can any one could learn screen print at home or do they have to take classes for it
Dude....I love your videos. ..I have an old Atlas silk press like the one you had maybe 20 years ago lol.. I seen a video you posted and I seen the press you had... im just getting started with silk screen and my downfall is when I print my shirts they come out crooked ..
Thank you!! Yeah that old press had roller skate wheels on the indexer. It's just a matter of experience loading the shirts straight.

Had to watch this more than once. Several helpful tips. Emulssion, masking tape (saves money) off set. and of course, s-l-o-w motion. (too funny). Do you do your own post production work? By using the 60 dirometer did you do two strokes or is that a normal count on strokes? Thanks for another great, instructional video.
👍
@Melissa Palardy, thank you!
What kind of lights are you using when exposing your screen? It looks reddish in the background so you can see. Thanks again for all the tips
Loved the slow motion part!!! What camera are you filming with?

very helpful video! What brand of t-shirts do you use for your blanks?
***** Thank you very much, I appreciate your support! That depends on the print job. These were Next Level tri blend tees. But I do not have a default favorite. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
When you do a 1 color print job like this do you usually just load and print one shirt at a time or do you load all of your stations , print, then put them on the conveyor?
As long as you're not flashing, loading all the pallets on a 1 color print is not necessary. It won't speed anything up. I use 1 pallet for stuff like this. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Dude, you really remind me a college crush :P
+Adriana Pérez Awe, thanks.... I hope in a good way ;) Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Nice video. very informative. How does the manual press compare to an automated one? What do you recommend to start with a manual or automatic press?
Print Papa Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. I would start with an manual press and learn all the basics before goin auto. There are many differences too many of which to point out here. But suffice it to say they will print much differently. Thanks for wacthing!
How do you determine how much off contact to apply on the press? How long will it take for emulsion to dry on a screen with no fan contact?
I coat a bunch of screens at once and let them dry overnight. Off contact should be ideally about 1/16th of an inch off the garment but it can be difficult to adjust. Always remember when in doubt lower is better because too high off contact will cause more problems. Thanks for watching my video and leaving a comment!
Do you any tips for how to flood your screen, ever time I do it and place down for contact it smudges the image. I am using water based ink right now, but will be moving to plastisol this week.
Sure I have a video about flood and stroke methods and most all of my printing videos will show my preferred print method. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Your silly for the slow-mo and sound effects lol good sh*t!
Ai dope
That slow motion part was the cringiest yet most amazing thing I have seen on a screen printing video!!! LOL Well done!
LOL... I've done more stupid stuff than that in my 10 years of making these videos ;) Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
HI there, love th video. Just a few quick questions. At 5:52 after you let the screen drip dry do you vaccum the screen? or what are you doing? Also how hard do you flood the screen if you are doing it four times?? regards
Shaun
Twentythreenineteen I just used very low air pressure to blow out the water form the mesh. It's a pretty decent flood pressure since the ink is thick and the mesh is a 160. Thanks for watching!
Thats great thanks, I love your stuff, you have helped me out in my wee shop in Ireland so much! Keep up the great vids and work! - Shaun
Twentythreenineteen You're welcome. Awesome, glad I could help out so far away. Thanks for your support!
Hi can i ask you what software can I use for graphic design
For screen printing art I would work in vector. We use Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw a lot in the industry. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Hey broo may i ask a question ? Is it possible to. Make cmyk screen without using halftones in the image?
I do not think so since CMYK is done with halftones. You need the halftones to create the colors with just CMYK screens. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Broo good day... I am using ordinary paper to burn out my positve image, i put a cooking oil to make it transparent to the Light.. What are the things you can suggest for me broo...? Im just using L360 epson printer.. Pls respond.. Tnx a lot
Yeah that's a very old home brew method there. I'm not sure what you mean by suggesting things. If you ask a specific question I can help out better. We usually use inkjet film with an inkjet printer. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
What does OFF CONTACT mean? Is that the angle between the screen and the t-shirt when the screen is down?

Hi there what ink is the best to use for printing tshirts tried to sign up to your forum but can't find the password on the about us page
That's a very difficult question to answer and would only be my opinion. But I think the ink is best matched for the specific job. Thanks for watching. Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
Hellow Bro...i was just wondering how can i make an artwork that include one color halftone (black en white). i wanna know the angle values for water based ink. To be specific am using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop....Any help please
Check out this video playlist. It's exactly what you want. I used plastisol inks but that should not make any difference. You should be able to use either inks keeping in mind the thinner the ink the higher the mesh count you may want to use. But for a 45LPI a 230 mesh is fine and should work well with water based black ink and a 80 durometer squeegee.

What do you use to print onto that plastic? what is the plastic, thank u
nzreggae That is inkjet film. It is printed with an inkjet printer using a computer. Thanks for watching!

nice videos.. what online site can i order materials?
Thank you. If you're in the US you can order on my ecommerce site. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
Why not print through a higher mesh? I use the Batman Black ink and I print it through 230 mesh.
Hi, Could you tell me if there are other fabrics you can print on? or is it only cotton! Thank you!
Most plastisol inks will print on cotton, poly/cotton blends and polyester. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Thanks for the advice :)
paddy6062 My pleasure.
CatspitProductions
Maybe my prints looked bad because I was holding the squeegee at the wrong angle, so maybe it was pushing too much ink through, rather then smoothly going across the screen
That's certainly possible. You flood and print stroke methods along with pressure can affect the print result greatly. Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
oh my goodness your slow motion hahaha funny
LOL... thank you! Glad you enjoyed my silliness there ;) Thanks for watching! Screen Printing Equipment & Supplies - CatspitScreenPrintSupply.com/
I have a design on my screen can I use another design if I clean it and if it doesn't come clean can use another design?
Yes, you can remove the stencil and create a new one on the same screen. You need emulsion remover but if that does not work with a pressure washer then the screen could be ruined. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! www.catspitproductionsllc.com/ - catspitscreenprintsupply.com/
