The insides remind me of my old Sound Stream Van Gogh series amplifier series, especially the VGA-1600.2. Blue boards, loads of capacitance, and quality resistors abound! NIce!

In regards to the new reviews coming up, I’ve got a Sony mini disc Walkman that last time I pulled it out, it still worked! I’ve debated on what to do with it for years. I don’t think it is in good enough shape to send to you though. You show some really nice old school electronics on here!!!
much as i dig the sentiment, the susan g komen foundation basically only spends ~1% towards actually doing anything meaningful towards funding research or other assistance (twas in a new article a few years back). the rest goes towards the salaries of the people in the foundation.
~3.4-10m of output. not tiny, but think about how much money basically just goes into their pockets when factoring that 1% out at those values.
lots of scandals about how they handle money and where it goes.
and sorry, but if this gives money to them? nah. not down.

This thing's a beauty, now all you need is a Pink Cadillac so you can have a pink system to bump to while you're cruising. Also, I love the vids you've been doing lately of all the old school stuff. I still have my SONY Walkman from when I was a kid. I also have all four of my portable cd players from when I was still in high school. Of course I re-bought the two original models a couple years ago off of ebay that I had in my late teens. Those being my first Kenwood portable as well as the SONY Discman that replaced the Kenwood when it broke and we had to return it for a refund. Then there's my two Philips branded models I had forever when I no longer had the Discman. Now they are all as one! 😁

I, for one, know a number of women in their 20s who would love to open their trunk to feature a huge pink amp. And they would all get into the "mine's bigger than yours" amp in the trunk.
I'm sure there's more than one metaphor going on here.
Edit: they probably have an easy market for at least 5 or 10 thousand if my personal experience is any indication. I'll bet with the right marketing, there's a lot more boyfriends who will buy this for their gfs car.

Request: can you test out the QSC model: spa2-60 powered amplifier? I wonder what’s the hype behind it. I purchased one off of eBay and wonder how much power it providers, how efficient it is, etc. It’s a great amp. I heard it and it has good high fidelity sound to it. It was clear.
Amps like this I see as running bridged @ 4 ohm for an SQ sub stage.
My problem is that they don't say who they're donating to. I'm all for helping with cancer research, but refuse to buy anything that donates to SGK foundation.
If you pay the extra $$$ for JP to sign it, it will do 500 more watts. He’s like the Jake Paul of car audio.
Looks nice, although massive compared to an Arc 2300SE with the same power. I don't know why on earth they smeared all that shmoo all over the solder pads for the gate resistors though, that's gonna make repair real fun... Looks like a very solid PSU and I'd like to hear one. Peace from Tasmania
I never heard the name "Tiffany Style" till discovering this channel a few years back, and debates go on over what they are at places that say "trust your ears not the oscilloscope" to this day (Spock raised eyebrow emoji), lol. Anyway, it would have been nice if the colored bands were something to indicate the channel instead of just black (or optional collard plastic washers in the "Allen's keys" bag to swap them out). just a nitpick, the amp looks nice. 😎☕👍

The testing on about 14 to 14.6V is the best you can do. Because on the european market, the cars produce 14.4, 14.6V.

Probably a dumb question but what is the difference between class AB class d. I know class d is supposed to be better and is more efficient but what is the actual difference between them.
It not Telephone style connector that would be a 4P4C referred to as RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 connector this amp has actually a 10P10C also known as RJ50 connector.

1. It never hurts to know more about products as consumers
2. He gets free content out of it
3. If the goal was to dyno every amp and see numbers from everyone and have a database to look back at he is just filling in what he can
4. Buy and send him the amps you want to see tested or email the manufacturer and tell them to send them to bigd,
I didnt buy the minimax because he didnt have a video on it and i went with pioneer because i know it will last 10+ years, i would have loved to see a video on the pioneer i have regardless if he had made 50 pioneer videos showing 50 pioneer amps in a row or not i just wanted to know what my equipment was going to do sadly pioneers not sending him every amp. Im sure he would be willing to dyno any equipment you have if you sent it too him. Its not like he is buying these amps
What many fail to realize is the reason you see so many D4S amps is 1) because they have so many new models constantly coming out 2) they are super easy to work with - send me the amps and don't have any restrictions, truly want my honest input - good and bad and 3) I'm a big fan of these products as I believe they provide great price to performance value for the consumer
Many other mfg's 1) won't send products without proofing the video first (which I don't allow) and 2) don't think UA-cam reviews are helpful for their products or 3) are scared to hear my opinions of their product(s) - only want positive reviews. It gets really expensive to buy products for testing and I've spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years buying products to review.
I do my best to provide honest, as unbiased as possible reviews. Yes there are biases, especially for products I use, have used and really like. This is only human. I appreciate all feedback on my videos. Thanks!

I’m a Rockford guy too, but a lot of these Chinese/Korean/Brazil guys are really encroaching in Rockford’s territory. Rockford hasn’t had an update in almost 10 years in the mobile side.

My old school class A/B amps all have a fair amount of dynamic headroom. This amp does not. Was this by design? Perhaps the power supply was tightly regulated? Anyway, love the look of this amp, but my goodness it's big! Yes, I know A/B amps are bigger, but I doubt this amp will be installed in many sedans.
I bet they’re using a “power guard” type setup where when they clip they’ll cut output.

@@samwise4me903 if you look at the old school McIntosh, once they hit .005 they cut back the power, and regulated the power supply to 12.6v

If they only make 100, how are they gonna warranty them? We all know they don’t fix amps anymore, they just replace them and these jp amps do go bad quite often.
Look up *"Dr Burzynski documentary"* on YT, he's been fixing since 1977!

He showed them at the end 4 ohm 74% , 2 ohm 72% , 1 ohm 62% if I remember.
