Something pretty cool about seeing one of the best chess players in the world playing against someone smoking a cig outside a coffee shop on the sidewalk
Indeed
Right in front of the no smoking sign
😂
Next to the no smoking sign kinda funny but pretty disrespectful
@@scissorhands6653 Maybe "no smoking inside" who cares really no one gonna die

But not sexier
when do you battle with him?

All the old guys sitting around the chess board with the smokes is such a classic OG look
Yea the way he was smoking i was like maaaannn this guy used to transport packs at wholesale back in the day 😂
Mikhail Tal approves
Morons never seen a person smoking before

That 2nd mate by Hikaru coming down the stretch was great. I thought he was going to promote a pawn. Hikaru was like nah, no need...😂
Yeah he would rather that elegant bishop mate. Much cooler
hyuk! hyuk!!
I like Nakamura's modesty. He plays with everyone and gives them respect by playing seriously. To benefit and enjoy at the same time. With his special smile
You should see it when Naka loses, not a nice sight.
@@The_Invisible_Man
True, but this is during an official match and with a peer-to-peer competitor. As for these people. He treats them humbly and smiles at them. Even though they never compare to his level

to the commentator above...You guys can say what you want...sometimes there are reasons to lose not gracefuly. Everyone is human and you guys criticize but are not much better
I like this guy so much because he can laugh, play, match wits with others and seems awfully humble on top of it. Just a regular guy with very uncommon skills.
ya, thats exactly why there needs to reperations for ppl who have LOW IQ's

hikaru humble? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

I love how everytime he says "Yeees" after giving time to guess a move in the analysis, its never the move I found lol
Keep trying. On rare occasions, like today, I agree with the computer. But then I said, now what??
Yeah, it is a computer line. You don't want to play that ever. If you found Nf3 or e3 you are good.
thought i was the only one lol
Ow, wait. you were talking about the Don's game. I didn't even consider taking on c5 for JC's game. But that Don's game was almost an automatic to remove that Knight.
Indeed, I find it immensely annoying actually
never seen these guys... seems everyones coming out of the woodwork to play tha super GM lol

he nearly did! very impressive, a great match to watch
The guy is like "Congrats Don for having a missed opportunity"
These guys are holding up pretty well against a GM, very impressive.
yea don must be really strong but that first guy was the nail to Hikaru's hammer lmao
Well, the first player already has a losing position after 7 or 8 moves. Is that impressive?
holding up against hikaru is impressive yeah
@@rbnsWRLD Hikaru could beat me with queen odds in 20 moves so yea its ridiculously impressive

Don knows what he’s doing, that’s for sure. We are seeing some really good games lately. Thank you. Inspiration is good. ✌🏼😄
Mmmj
i wish i could see/read the game this fast. i’ve (shamelessly) lost every blitz game i’ve ever played cause there’s just no way i can read the board this quick. i discovered (and fell in love with) chess pretty late at 23, but man it’s so much fun. great video!!
Late?
@@2BTO i say late when compared to a lot of the chess community. i've seen kids play that are absolute BEASTS!
same, except I'm 24 and just play rarely
Practice. This is like muscle reflection for them
I started at 27, I only play blitz 5 or 3+2, and yes, the feeling that we started too late is always present. But don't be disappointed, if you really like the game and take seriously about the theory and practice and practice you can be a very decent player.
Love the vibe when Hikaru is there!
😍🥰😍
Really appreciate the after game “breakdown”. Very helpful to see available options / moves etc.
The end game by Hikaru was just beautiful. It's like muscle memory for him
Yeah yeah yeah
Wait i didnt see Don before. He seems really good. Him against Duck would be fun to watch.
Y'all make Chess look so fun. I used to play as a kid and got swept up in video games. I forgot how fun and stimulating the game of chess can be.
I mean...I kind of prefer video games tbh. Chess is just chess.

It always amazing to see a Super GM demonstrates their prowess against regular people, it shows what talent with hard work could produce; just amazing.

As an English opener, I'm always on the lookout for that bishop stab and retreat!
Also, that early mid-game for an English opener. Any time a knight jumps into a center square, take the extra time to explore lines. Almost always a tactic regardless of whose knight it is
"Carefull, no need to rush thought it" hahaha Real solid advice from the rushiest of them all; Speed may not beat Timing but S-squared will.
Hikaru's time with down to earth guys vs the usual chess pros. Must be great stress reliever
"How could I lose 5 to 1?" 🤣 Famous last words!
oh did someone forget to tell you... Hikaru is one of the best if not THE best bullet chess player there is.. kinda his specialty. So... giving him just one min to play a game is like putting a fish into water.
1:35 i loved that laugh so much
I love these videos, the variety of people willing to sit down for a game of chess is just great. I'm more inspired then ever to get good after having watched videos similar to this.
Grinning from ear to ear, Hikaru gets it done. Brilliant viewing.
That guy is smoking that cigarette like he's in the trenches.
Chess is war
@@suezuccati304 ehh no definitely not. It's a pattern recognition game.
No general uses or has used chess as a war game simulation or practice. Chess starts with a premise of 50/50 , equal pieces, equal value pieces and such. War is hardly ever fair or even.
But chess is definitely a smart 🤓 person's game
Because he was fighting for his life.
I really appreciate these post game analysis explanations. Just subbed.
I started playing chess like 3-4 days ago and ive only played like 3-5 games, for some reason youtube is flooding my feed with chess vids and ive never looker even one up before. Loving it so far
I really enjoy watching these! Love to get the insights to the game of chess. Want to definitely get back into playing.
Hustler : 16 seconds only
Hikaru : You mean infinite time ?
Hikaru playing IRL: Just vibing with other players
Hikaru playing online: Opens with H4
ive just started learning to play (im 33!) and this channel has made the game feel so damn hype, i really appreciate it. and excited to learn and get better!! and of course to eventually talk some trash!! :)
Starting to learn myself, have you been following any plan or just practicing on your own?
00:29 That's the fastest resignation I've ever seen, knocking over his king while shaking hands.
I say this all the time but every video I see of him confirms it… Hikaru is such a class act! Thanks for sharing this!! 👏🏼👍🏼👊🏼
“thats nice of you man” (proceeds to gift the queen)
I like how Hikaru is an elite level pro worth millions of dollars showing love to regular players who enjoy the game. Truly you have to respect him for that.
I really respect Hikaru turning up to play these wonderful folk.
You would CERTAINLY NOT convert that extra pawn into a full win vs Hikaru. That's impossible, even absurd.
Yeah no chance
Maybe not. Very, very likely not - but it could have slowed Hikaru down enough to let him time out. The extra pawn could've been worth the 4 seconds
@@Ephedr1n I think hikaru is the fastest GM blitz player in the world (OTB). If he was down a pawn, he would probably play differently and in accordance with that situation.
Being a pawn up vs a player 1000 ELO above you does not mean that you are in the lead. Even positionally, let alone winning the game. If Hikaru was down a pawn against Caruana or Carlsen etc I would understand that this is significant.
The thing is, that the pressure Hikaru have in the position he built almost makes it impossible for you to want to go for that pawn. Anyway Don played really well
@@michaelmurray6577 exactly being down a pawn vs another 2500+ he'd almost certainly lose but being down a pawn vs someone who isn't a GM or at the very least IM means he's still winning 90%+ probably 99%
That is such an aggressive pawn. Really beautiful to see it used so effectively.
This channel was already amazing but now that Hikaru showed up.... I have no words to describe how much adrenaline I feel
adrenaline and chess are 2 words that should not mix lol.. If anything I play better sedated lol
Wow that 2nd game was brilliant!! love the post analysis too.
He loses 5 to 1 because Hikaru is a SUPER GM- even if someone was up material/position, Hikaru will always out play them with the time pressure
Yeah 95 percent of the time but once the ratings get well over 2000 everyone loses once in awhile.
Magnus: hi
I've never seen a biship - pawn mate like that before. Very powerful
Man so awesome! I love the post match breakdowns. I did not find the move.
That first game was a disaster lol
Hikaru is the only hustler here lol

@mike trenton The era of soy boys. How is that disrepectful, he's not blowing the smoke in his face and they're outside. How entilted do you have to be to think you have the right to decide what people can or cannot do.

that checkmate was amazing
Maybe because I've never watched competitive chess, but man them bois schmoovin!! I need to learn how to play it still 😩
congrats don for the MISSED opportunity! lol
When I see an older American chess player like the smoker guy here who can talk about Fischer I give them respect because there is always a good story behind it about how they learned chess and played while serving in the military decades ago (usually in Europe) or similar.
Love the no smoking sign on the window lol
Last move you made at the end was a dope move nice
If they ever make a movie of Nakamura, Randall Park would be perfect for the role
Ten minute video that contains 2 games and analysis. Speed!
Perfect example of how unknown talent just out there in the streets could be the best in the world, but you’d never know. The best singers, artists, musicians, athletes, any of them could walk right by you and history would never know it. Insane.
wow... that was a really great game! Well done!
6:30 was filthy mannnn
Hi Coffee Chess! Loving the games + the analysis. I feel like it would be slightly more useful to show in the analysis why a certain move was bad, rather than showing a line that is good :) Love your content, cheers!
“GM Hikaru Destroys Chess Hustler in 49.4 seconds… in 10+ minutes!”
That was amazing. Don did great!!
Don was awesome, he played really well; but Hikaru is the grim reaper of chess lol.
It is fun watching GM Hikaru play against mere mortals, it shows how skilled GMs are...
Those "mere mortals" are not random people though. Pretty decent players.
These are just plain awesome!

02:43 for Hikaru chess is like music.
Well he technically resigned when he knocked his king over in the first second of play
