this morning before catching the bus out of NYC after a weeklong trip. This is not a special moment caught on camera, this man is just kind and wholesome energy all day long. Every new chess player should watch this. I’m fairly new and I picked up chess leisurely because I like strategy games… but I’ve found myself enjoying the psychology of it more than the playing itself. I love the way techniques and strategies are so relatable to many life experiences. There are so many perspectives that you can tell that even two people playing the same game on the board are not actually playing the same game in their mind.

You don't need strategy at chess. The strategy led your forces to the battlefield. No allies on both sides will switch sides or join later. Now is the end of strategy and the beginning of tactics.
You open the battle with a standard formstion and build your swift and unexpected tactics around it.
