i came into a shop new job with one here - the nut was on so tight i couldnt get it off - came here to make sure i wasnt crazy. I had to get a piece of pipe for a lever on the allen key with the saw in a vise. thank you. be nice to have the dust catcher - its long gone.
The "Allen" Wrench or Hex Key is 5mm .. like most circular saws the hex screw is LEFT HANDED and the washer, or "blade clamp" has two flats and is marked with arrows for tighten and loosen .. EDT: As Jenny says so in the video :) As she says the blade diameter is 4 1/2" (115mm) and the ARBOUR Hole is small 3/8" (9.5mm) ... keep this in mind there are LOTS of blade 4.5" / 115mm blades with arbourt sizes from 1/2" up to 7/8" that won't fit! Dewalt does not recommend Saw Blade Bushing to adapt over sized holes (and most experts agree :) on this small 9.5mm arbour hole ... I don't mean to indicate the small arbour is in any way negative in this application .. it actually helps increase blade stiffness on these thin small diameter bades.
Hi Patricia! I mentioned the kerf indicator around the 2 minute mark. If you’re just freehanding it, you look down through the little notch. If you want a precise cut, you can use a straight edge clamped down. Measure the distance from the blade to the edge of the shoe plate. Pay attention to if you’re cutting right down the pencil mark or right/left of it. Hope that makes sense.
I have this saw and its my go-to for most stuff. Where was the event that you got this at? I am in Cleveland Oh. I have found Ace hardware to be the best for tools. Cheaper also. Never Amazon.
Hi Miss DeWalt! Do you think that the compact saw would be able to cut through a bamboo countertop? Or a regular particle-board style countertop? I want to try to cut down a bigger piece of counter for my very small laundry room myself. I currently only have a mitre/chop saw, and a jigsaw, neither of which would be useful to cut wood counter with. But I was thinking of buying this tool if I can use it to cut the counters. And for future projects of course! Let me know what you think?
Hi Christina! This should be a good candidate as long as your material isn’t thicker than 1 9/16”. I believe that’s the maximum depth for a straight cut. Since getting this, it’s my preferred saw because of how light and easy it is to use.
That's the one thing I'm no help on, mine was a display tool and the accessories were missing when it was given to me. I'm going to see if I can find a replacement online and if so, I'll do a follow up video.
Your demonstration of this product was the best I could find on UA-cam. This was my first time using this little circular saw. It's pretty awesome!
Wow, thank you! Glad this video was helpful, enjoy!
That saw is perfect for just cutting 2x4s light compact and all the power you need .
Exactly! As with most tools, it has its applications. Since I predominantly work with wood, it’s useful to me.
Thank you for the video! I am so glad I found it! It made is so easy to get the tool working !! THANK YOU!!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching. 💛
wow looked at this for like a hour trying to find the brake , I did try and press it but guess not hard enough , .... Thanks
Glad to help!
Good overall view of the tool. Thanks!

Looks like you solved the problem! Yeah, mine is without the accessories, I’m gonna see about finding them online.
Very helpful! thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting. I have the shorter version. Good piece of equipment
A concise, helpful, and fantastic review-thank you!
That’s the best compliment, thank you!

Is there a Mr. Dewalt?😀
SOLID VIDEO..
KEEP THEM COMING...👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿💯💯💯💯💯
Great. Everything except how to line up the blade when making a cut? Please say how to line up your cut etc.

Can i use my existing 18V battery?
Is it the slide on type? If so, I believe it’s compatible.
I have a question I need to grease up the tool?
Not that I’m aware of.

Hi Ted! This was at Scott Electric.
Bought it on Amazon. It's perfect.
👍👍👍👍
I wanted to build some birdhouse so this was very helpful
Call Dewalt to send you the missing key for free.
Thank you for another excellent review. I bought that saw earlier this year and love it. And now, thanks to you, I don't have to read the manual! 😂😛
Lol, thank you for watching!
@@Jennyfromtheshop ❤
I purchased the tool only and it didn't come with the dust port
adapter. Does anyone know the part number?
Found it. Looks like the part number is N594300.
@@robertmontgomery3892 Thank you!

@@Jennyfromtheshop thanks so much! The counter is 1.5” so hopefully this will work! Picking one up later today :)
@@Christina_De_Melo It might just work. Let me know how it goes.
Can it cut tiles, mozek, metal if we change to diamond blade?
The manual says no.
I'm a milwaukee guy but becuz ur not married snd ur super beautiful I'll sell every Milwaukee tool I have and switch to Dewalt.
Best comment of the day. 😂
Good work I want to be a DIY
Any tips on using the rip fence that comes with it would be great.

@@Jennyfromtheshop thanks! I usually use a tape measure from blade and just set it. The rip fence guide seems off and hard to read.
My question is, should there be any wobble of the blade once it's attached to the tool?
No. Is the blade on tight enough or is something bent?
@@Jennyfromtheshop Thank you for your reply. After another attempt, I finally got it to sit tightly.
@@kathleenray6070 Awesome!
Great Video Jenny
Thank you!
