    My car has been sitting for 3 years thinking 🤔 it was the transmission. Bought a rebuild transmission and resent it made no change. GONNA CHANCE..TPS...AND ...IAC SENSORS. THANKS FOR SHARING

    My LS 5.3 IS DOING THE SAME THING. IT RUNS LIKE CRAP AND SHIFTS HARD. WILL LOOK INTO THROTTLE BODY SENSORS. THANKS FOR SHARING

    Thanks for this video Joe. My first and only build is still sitting in the garage after a year and a half because it was acting exactly like this rig in your video. I got frustrated and went back to finishing the inside of my house. With that nearly done, I’m saving this video for reference in my newly demotivated efforts to get the truck running and on the streets in time for summer. Appreciate you!

    Excellent info. Never thought of how the Accelerator Enrichment parameters could affect idle if the TPS is changing. With DBW the TPS value does change and I now know to check if the enrichment is sensitive to it.

    Data is definitely the King when it comes to seeing/finding issues (and or improvements)👍
    I recently got connected with a new tune that was reving and surging really bad (at high idle). Between him having slow/lagging internet, and me not being able to hear how it was running via phone (couldn't see or hear exactly what was going on real time, live). Long story short, his Data showed that his "Global File was corrupted" (several years of tuning Holley EFI on bikes and this is only the second time I've ever seen a Corrupted File). This one was literally "very quickly turning his injectors off-on-off-on-off-on" (every time the rpm reached and or went though the 2,400 RPM cell on his Fuel Table). I could tell his fuel flow was "inconsistent" while we were connected but what I didn't see until later was, his Fuel Flow, Pulse Width and Duty Cycle were ALL "going to ZERO" (just for an instant, even though there was obviously a number in that Fuel Table Cell). It took me longer than I thought it should have but in the end it was the DATA ❤ that showed why it was revving and surging really bad...

    I just had this very thing happen. tps was 1-2% and it was surging up to a high idle type deal Iac was maxing out. love the videos. thanks

    I’ll have to look at my sniper bbd TPS. I’ve been having the same sort of issues for a year after installing my sniper bbd. It’s weird, if I have air, lights and stuff on then my IAC will stabilize, but with no heavy draw the IAC is all over the map and the idle is terrible. Fuel pressure is good, but I have noticed that after running for a bit the TPS will start showing 1%. So hopefully it’s just that simple. Great video.

    Veeery good video! I have similar problem with my Microsquirt ECU on my bike but with significally lower frequency of the TPS signal wobble. Unfortunately my TPS sensor is good but the 5V reference voltage has some brief voltage sags. Very unpleasant as I just can't get away with this and the unwanted accel enrichment triggering. Thanks Joe!

      Check on your charging system. If it is raising and lowering the voltage that might be causing it.
      But I am NOT an expert AT ALL!!
      I am battling a crap idle but TPS stays steady.
      I have to wait to take mine to get it tuned until I can get some money in.

    Normally if there are fluctuations that can't be eliminated a filter would be required, either digital (like moving average) or a capacitor based. Depending on how much you need or want to filter it out you can might less throttle response.
    I suppose the software doesn't give you access to filtering parameters so the alternative would be a capacitor.

    Hey joe I’m pretty sure I’ve been having this exact issue with my truck it’s basically a stock 5.3 lm7 with a TSP chop monster cam kit w/ springs and pushrods. Numerous issues I have had with this issue such as bad injectors so I got them tested and rebuilt that’s good. Bad high pressure fuel regulator. Swapped that out and now when I crank it, it won’t want to start but my buddy told my to crank down the idle screw and and I set me rpm higher on my terminator x max and gave it gas and it started but I have to baby the throttle and it’ll stay on but everything now is leading me to a bad tps sensor. So if this fixes my issues I thank you so fucking much and if not I still thank you.

    Hey Joe, what are your thoughts or experience on having old school style dual plane manifolds having injector bosses installed at the ports for MPI ? Do you think there would be an imbalance between air flow and fuel injected causing some cylinder to run rich/some lean ?
    I have this setup and engine has always run rough especially at idle considering its got quite a mild cam. O2 sensor in the exhaust would only read an average. Manifold runs a large 4 barrel throttle body.
    Any feedback would be great.

    Fuel correction per 1000ft of elevation? New LS turbo setup, driving from 7000ft DA to Sea Level.
    Any idea of what percentage of correction I should leave the Holley at to compensate for that kind of elevation change?

    My 5.3 with Terminator X idles well after startup, but when warm, wants to die when coming back
    down to idle target, requiring some throttle to stay running. I have a generic Holley tune that works really well everywhere else, and I have not tuned it nor enabled learn. I had a Megasquirt with the exact same sensors and it idled just fine, so it must be in the Holley settings.

    @Joe Simpson I noticed your live data channels while in online mode have that little delay when the laptop screen displays them...like they don't immediately all show up and pop up (get drawn) one at a time from top to bottom. I've seen that happen too like it's a computer graphics problem, but it's not consistent. I use HP ECU with dedicated USB cable on v4, not via CAN BUS. It was never an issue until I upgraded to v5 or v6 so much so I downgraded everything back to v4 and it was usable again. Any thoughts? The "i'm dumb" and "poop" channel group names had me ROFLMAO 🤣

    Don’t think it was the fact it was off because you can just relearn it, it’s more of the flicker of voltage from the TPs causing problems

      The irony here is they replaced the sensor that came with the throttle body with a new oem sensor. They tried to do the right thing haha

      Tps auto set works just fine as sensor reads perfectly until you start the engine

      @@jasonbrinegar6759 nope. 100% perfect and normal. Usually it’s obvious when it’s the sensor. This is the first one I’ve seen act this way
