    I think you might want to reconsider your target AFR table. You have it set up so that your AFR is changing based on RPM only rather than MAP. MAP goes up, AFR should get richer. The top few rows should be your WOT AFR, then a few rows of part throttle, then the remaining your cruise and idle AFR. That's generally speaking. Basically, your AFR should be more Y axis based than X axis based. I don't think you want 12.8:1 at cruise or 14.7:1 at WOT from a dig.

    Great video you really explained a lot. Question for you, on your target AFR table, on the wide open throttle at lower RPM why do you have it set to 14.7 instead of 12.5? Even though the RPM is lower wouldn't you still want 12.5 at wide open throttle?

    Maybe you'll see this comment but I've been watching your channel for awhile. I'm currently trying to learn hp tuners, I have the mpvi2 in a 99 trans am. Ls1 nitrous car with a th350 trans, nothing just wild but I've been debating on swapping to the holley terminator x setup for the simplicity of the tuning and ability to control the nitrous and all that which you cant do with hp. What's your opinions on this?

  • @Wrensspeedshop
    @Wrensspeedshop 2 роки тому

    Had a question about different types of setups. I recently purchased the Terminator X system but have yet to install everything. It’s going in my 99’ TRANS AM. I went ahead and purchased a splitter CAN cable so that rather than only being able to plug in the 3.5” screen to the car/system, I’m able to plug my laptop into one of the leads as well as the 3.5” screen into the other lead. By doing so I’m able to have both plugged into the terminator system at the same time. Have you done this or know anybody that has? If so, do you still have to go through the process of making any tune corrections then uploading them from your computer to the terminator system via the SD card, Or are you able to utilize the direct connection using that splitter cable? I hope that question makes sense.
    Appreciate the video and all of the information in there. For a beginner like myself, little things like the fuel tables and how to set it up will make a huge difference.
    Keep the videos coming!

      Being a tuner for 14 years, I can tell you from experience (60ft at the track, and butt dyno lol) running a richer AFR like 11.8 or even 11.5, and pretty high timing (around 32, but that depends on combo of course) below 3400 rpm will make more power on most LS based engines. Stock gen 3 GM tunes usually have them leaned up a bit down there for better overall fuel economy, but time and again, most every customer of mine claims better launches when I setup more PE AFR down low (stock converters of course).

    what determines which afr do you use per cell. Meaning Im pretty sure that I want 14.7 at idle but what about different loads and different rpm's. I guess the simple question is do you have a afr map that you suggest? procharged sbc roughly 700-800 hp on 93

      snail5341 under boost, 11.8-11.3 is generally safe depending on what your temps are looking like, 12.5 usually is about the max you want under max “NA” load(max load before boost) and 14.7-14.0 for cruise depending on temps and random conditions. You can actually go kinda lean on idle to save fuel if you want, as the car is under almost no load at idle. You’ll want to blend the cells between these conditions as aggressively as you need to “ramp” the fuel in depending on what you’re asking the car to do.
