- Samsung; Fossil; Motorola. These are the names that come to mind when you think about non-Apple smartwatches (with occasional cameos by other classics like Casio, Citizen and Montblanc). In this crowded establishment, the name “Mobvoi” doesn’t exactly stand out. But with its new TicWatch E3, the nine-year-old Beijing-based, Google-backed company has delivered something none of those other brands yet has: a smartwatch with silicon powerful enough to run very well today … and hopefully, tomorrow. Join Michael Fisher for a look at the second Snapdragon 4100-powered smartwatch to hit the Wear OS scene, in MrMobile's TicWatch E3 Review!

Your genuine love and passion for watches makes this review so much more genuine
I know right?
He never sugar coats anything or advocates any device. He is damn truthful about it and that's what I like most. A very reliable reviewer indeed.
Genuine
@@BigBampot It truly is genuine!
Touché. 😁
Kaaahhhhnnnnn!: We need those Star Trek quotes periodically. That was cool!
In before that's copy-strike-able too
Thank you to Mr.Mobile for the absolute most enjoyable, beautifuly shot, peotically worded reviews on youtube. Pure joy to watch.
I love how you are best reviewer for smart watches and so much more. You also have disclaimers at the end for products which is so awesome. It is so nice to have a review were discussed at the end that these are 100% their thoughts. Not a lot of reviewers do that
2 videos in one day, you are on fire 🔥
A human on fire, is a human well done. I like the way you think.
I miss the designs and “Tickle” Bezel Movboi used to utilize on their past TicWatches. These past few rugged looks have not been it for me. This model actually looks pretty good for the price
I missed the fun color and transparent design of Ticwatch E, but this one also looks nice.

Great video (says Ilpo from Finland who sill isn’t going to buy any smartwatch ever but still keeps on watching every smartwatchvideo Mr Mobile publishes)
Michael and his trekkie geek out 😁 always a pleasure to watch.
Great review as always! Keep up the good work
1:14 "I've done far worse than kill you. I've hurt you; and I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me. As you left her. Marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet. Buried alive, buried alive."
Also, I know it's a different series, but, Happy Captain Picard Day, Michael!
I literally looked in the comments to see if anyone would finish the scene. And you did sir! My hat's off to you. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
Your reviews are works of art. Big fan here
Love what you do on your channel and have literally watched every single video on it. It's clear you hold yourself to a higher standard, and it shows in the quality. So now that you're back out in the world again, do you have any plans on making a 2021 Everyday Carry video?
Good review. Appreciate the advice.
Being LCD and no auto brightness is an automatic deal breaker.
And with reading your comment and agreeing with it... Stopped watching the video.
Same thought. It makes the watch almost senseless
No auto brightness? Lame!
180 nits....my Apple Watch SE goes to 1000 nits. What were they thinking?
@@adaml.5355 if they increased it to 300-400 nits then it's arguable
MR .Mobile your spoiling us ☺️ 2 reviews in a week. Back to back
I'm still enjoying my TicWatch Pro 3. Happy to see a more budget friendly option from Mobvoi. Awesome video Michael! Also: KHAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!!!
Pretty nice review, this time i might get one so waiting for it
Your videos are a cinematic masterpiece. I love to analyse movies and camera angles and all that. I sometimes just watch your reviews cz watching them is pure joy. Keep the good work up, Capt 2 phones and stay mobile my friend. ❤️
Your genuine love and passion for Star Trek makes this review so much more genuine
Always good reviews very professional of course xXx
Another fantastic review. 👍🏻
I'm here not really for the product but for your butter smooth voice and amazing quality video.
Loved the ST2 recording :)
Awesome review! Keep up the great work ❤️🇨🇦❤️
I like your format awesome video
Nice review Michael 👌👏👍
Bruh, you make the best reviews. Thanks for doing what you do. Stay classy.
Finally! I've been waiting for this thing. I refused to buy a laggy 3100
Same, I ended up with a cheap 2100 when the 3100 launched and was shown to be barely an improvement
Don't buy a watch now. Wait for new Google wear os.
The Ticwatch Pro 3 was a couple bucks cheaper than this on Prime Day. It'll likely back down to that price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday if you're looking for a SD 4100 that doesn't make all these compromises. I bought it at full price and still love it 🥰
Love my Ticwatch Pro so glad I got this watch off your review
Both watches are coming tomorrow, I guess I'll have to see which I want to keep, which Mobvoi would say if they'll be upgraded in the fall.
Would love to see you do an extended bit on smart watches with stamina! I love the idea of a smart watch but can’t stand the idea of taking it off every 1-2 days to charge it, gone through too many flag ship watches only for them to gather dust because the effort of taking them off and on every day just didn’t fit into my routine, plus what’s the point of sleep tracking if it has to go in charge every night!
Currently on a Garmin Instinct solar which is fantastic - give or take 2-3 weeks life with all features enabled albeit very VERY basic as far as smart watch features go. It was an arduous task trying to find something, would love to hear your thoughts on the long battery life sector.
Genuinely my favorite tech reviewer. The watch reviews are different class to anyone else's.
That's a very fair review. I would go back to Mobvoi in a heartbeat if they just put in a rotating crown instead of relying on the swipe.
Good video
I go the Tic watch 3 gps and I haven't looked back and a major upgrade from the Asus zen-watch 2 I had before. I can't wait for a more tactical watch though with the 4100 though.
What is this? A review that doesn't just repeat the factory specs?
Thanks for this honest review! Very much appreciated! If it's gonna be on sale on the prime days it might be worth checking out but other than that I think I'm gonna hold off.
I love my TicWatch Pro 3. Upgraded from my 3 year old Samsung watch.
I used to ticwatch pro 3 and I'm getting sometimes 4 days of battery life. It is a great chip, and I hope it's not wasted
Wow the battery life lasts that long? I mean for Wear OS. Is it worth paying that much though? Considering the app choices are not as many as Apple Watch.
I get 2 days on mine? Did you do any configuration to get so much days?
What about the full android kospet vs this. Seems like full android will be better than any watch specific nonsense for many many years to come
@@RH-nc8uu But the user interface wouldn't be that ideal on such a small screen... Plus a smartwatch is meant to pair with a smartphone. Devices like the Kospet is like a miniature Android phone instead of a smartwatch. lol
Me planning to use my Pebbles for years to come still watching:
My pebble is slowly dying. Things just don't work as smoothly anymore. This might be a nice replacement....
Please review the Pixel Buds A-Series and Beats Studio Buds? Thank you very much! Outstanding upload as well!
I am still loving my Amazfit GTR 47mm Titanium. It holds battery for at least a month if I don't actively use it (just sleep and heart rate tracking), and at least a week when I use it's GPS for cycling. It's not running Google Wear OS, but I don't really need the features it has over this and definitely not the battery drain Wear OS also has.
You should cover the Huami Amazfit Smart Watches/Fitness Trackers. I don't know about the US, but I can easily buy it here in Europe.
Two vids in 1 day don't spoil us man
I have a Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS and I will still be getting this.
Good review. Gonna get a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Keep rocking 🔥 u look tired 😴 sleep well , by using all those gadgets, keep making more videos 🔥
Good Video
I will for sure wait the new wear OS software !
The only two biggest offs for me in this one are, the lack of an amoled display and no auto brightness. Like auto brightness sensor might be cheap, don't know how they skipped it. It irritates whenever you've change brightness manually. And lcd like in 2021? 199 for the latest silicone is fine but having an amoled could've made this one an excellent all rounder.
Now THAT's different!
I didn't know smart watches with LCD displays existed..
I have been using cheap fitness bands for a few years now and all of them have had OLED screens.
2 videos in a day!!!
4:00 Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon Wear 3100 is capable of running Wear OS 3.0 and that it's up to the OEM to implement the update. The 4100(+) obviously got confirmed too.
that last shot was so fuzzy 6:11
I wish they'd bring back the Ticwatch 2 with all the updates. Just keep the watch looking as is, but upgrade all the internals.
There are newer watches out there, but I still like the form factor of my original Galaxy S. It worked as a stand alone phone (once setup), detected heart rate, counted steps... It had few detriments. It only worked with Galaxy phones, it had no camera, no GPS, and used a weird custom charge cradle and band. OK, little more than a few. But the curved screen was great, I use Galaxy phones, and the bands and chargers were cheap. An update to that form factor, with more horsepower, a camera, and a friggin' USB C port would be cool, even better if it allowed normal bands.
I don't know about the intro, because I think Mobvoi is one of the giants when it comes to wearables. Maybe it's just because I'm into my WearOS tech and general consumers might not be though?
This does look great (esp with the Moto strap). But my worry is that my TicPods failed after about 3 months. Claimed the warranty and the replacement pair never worked. Just not sure I can trust Mobvoi after that (although the TicPods were a kickstarter launch)
I'm still concerned that Google won't update them. :-(
I wish Mobvoi could somehow guarantee an update, then it'd be a no-brainer.
And remove their suite of apps which no one needs and give that precious space for users to use!
@@Aditya-tt1ws I actually use thier suits of apps. It's better than google fit
@@Aditya-tt1ws Both the Pro 3 and the E3 are gonna get the uptade, but in like 2022
0:08 did someone say cameos? VATICAN CAMEOS! 😂
You're spoiling us 😆😂
Any review on Fitbit Versa series?
I bought the ticwatch pro 3 because of your review keep up the good work
Can you do a review of the vwar rex pro?
Good review. I'm sure there are people who will buy this solely on price
I don't know why but I only trust your REVIEW when it comes to TECH UA-camrs.
THANK YOU
Am i the only one that noticed that his intro at 0:00 is like the powerpuff girl intro where its "Cinnamon, Spice, and everything nice!"
I have such a struggle on trying a smartwatch or even a fitband, because of the ageing and tech cicles. Is like you said in one video before, good watches are supposed to be heirlooms. I use the same cheap Sekonda watch since almost a decade ago and I don't have to recharge it (change battery) for years. I don't know... fitbands may be useful in the way they work more with your health tracking, but I can't take the last step to buy a smartwatch... btw, I miss the Razr fold videos. Give me more of that please!
That soundtrack at the start is amazing. Which one is it ?
Yea.. I also want the name of the track
@@crazysomu it's also there on Nicki swift videos. Hope somebody knows the track
I heard somewhere something like "buy the product because of what it's today, not tomorrow"
Can you tell me what smartwatches have the rotating crown?
I prefer a samsung active 2 design. Sleek and wearable for fitness and a wedding. Bought one for my wife and brother but im waiting for the samsung active 3 or the up coming google/fitbit watch
While I'm excited to see what a reboot of wearOS can do. I'm also gonna be hella sad if my Fossil Sport becomes a functional paperweight considering I've had it for just over a year.
I'm rockin the C2+ which while having 1gb has the 2100 ;w; If you can get it at a discounted price it runs really well. I'm not that much of a fitness person and would rather use my phone for gps stuff, I use it more for organizational purposes and thus can get 2-3 (or more if I put it into batt sav mode during the night) days out of it.
With the wearOS update i'll most likely try not to install it. Since it will probably be more optimized for the newer snap....kindaaa wish I waited since the e3 looks basically like an updated version of the c2+. Eh oh well
Michael, do you plan to review the new Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds? I preordered them cause I've spent way too long without true wireless earbuds since my last pair broke, but I'm curious to see what you think about them.
Interested! Amazfit has been less than great lately. Especially with odd/poor name change to Zepp
Coincidentally i was planning to buy a GTS 2 mini. What exactly don't you like?
@@adaskalov I prefer this E3. I have GTS2, notification size is small, prefer GTR2 bigger total screen.
@@paccm333 i see what you mean, but I'm looking for fitness, great battery life and alwayd on display. I think it's a good match for me, but let me know if it has some flaws
Could you do Garmin venu 2 review?
Fischer, How are you liking that Star Trek podcast with PFT and Tawny Newsome?
00:10 which Casio GShock is this?
So how on Earth did you manage to get Google Assistant working?
I'd go nights without sleep watching MrMobile and still never get tired. These videos are real art and Michael should be applauded for his efforts!
How on earth does Mr Mobile have ONLY 1.12m subs???!!
Damn I just realized something. Hear me out on this…
Michael Fisher is a tech-specific Alton Brown.
OMG i can't unhear ot now
I'd give a serious think to selling my fossil 5 for one of these... If it had a crown.
I like the aesthetics and don't mind the plastic, but I don't really want to give up the navigation.
Wait for Pixel Watch or Fossil Gen 6 coming in July
When I get a job again that might be the smart watch I buy (the pro one at least) as, well, sure I have an iPhone 6s+ but its not my daily. That reward goes to my LG V40
Only got pebble time almost 6yr, still got 3 days on.
Will you review the Samsung Galaxy Book Go? I feel like it's the best budget laptop out there, but there are probably even better ones if I went out that price range just a little. :''
i was thinking to buy this watch it fetures just about every thing i want, battery life, easy band replacement not an ideal way to charge it but it works would prefer a wireless option, no crown does make me want to wait till it gets one... it being plastic.. doesnt phase me much but all of the tech specs are good so i gues ill wait to see what comes with this os update
Hopefully the charger on this I better what the have been using my tic watch s2 is great but mobvoi has had to replace the charger 2 times and my 3 one just died a few days ago so now I'm going to have to source another one
@Mr. Mobile what is face name on 0:05 ? it looks so sleek
Mr mobile?? Ohh yeah... He the one na who's reviews don't bore u?? Ya I knw him... He is cool🔥
2:15 180 nits? thats gonna be an oof from me doc
I've had the tic watch pro 3, and i returned it because the sensors were not accurate. My Galaxy watch 3 which I bought after I returned the tic watch pro 3 (it was on sale) has much better and more accurate sensors. But I do like Wear OS better. I'll be getting the next Galaxy watch for sure
I feel alone still wanting this watch over more expensive options (right now, on sale, this is about 200$ CAD with taxes while the pro 3 is over 400$ CAD)
I understand most of the choices Mobvoi made here, but LCD? AMOLED was in the previous E2 and S2... They probably didn't want to make this one too good, so it doesn't hurt the sales of the Pro 3. Either way, it's worth to wait and see what google has come up with. I've bought the S2 last month, but it's because it was $100. Yes, 2100 and 512mb ram make it slow sometimes, but I get 90% of the experience I would get with 4100+1gb...
I have a Tic Watch E and its not terrible, but is showing its age on CPU.
Does this take phone calls LTE? I heard AT&T doesn't show the same sim phone number on Caller ID with watches? Is that true?
Where can I get that watch face on timeline 6: 04?
What's that song at 00:33?
both of these watches give me hope for future watches, but I'm really tired of the giant black ring around the screen and the lack of wireless charging on all wear OS watches. still rocking my huawei watch (1) cause nothing has been worth $ to switch or it's lacked features.
