This is the best and the most detail review I've seen of this product in all UA-cam. Thanks, man. I'd probably grab this smartwatch later this year. 👍
Thanks!
How's the watch after 1 year?
I have watched numerous videos about the TicWatch E3. This is by far the best. Thanks. I have just ordered an E3.
Glad it was helpful!
You looking at and testing other than the well known brands, that’s excellent!
Thanks!
I don’t have any wear os or Apple Watch devices yet. I’d be curious how these hold up for triathlon type activities. Great review as always! Keep up the good work. You’re crushing it lately! 👌
Thanks Matt! There are dedicated Triathlon apps on the google play and IOS store I think that would make for a really interesting video! (get on it!)
Nice review. More favorable than another one I watched first. I'm interested in how the galaxy 4 watch does and aw7 release. I'm on aw3 that I love, but I need a new phone and there are so many great cheap android phones. I'm more tied into the watches and apps, hahaha.
Best review on this watch! Thanks so much, I'm planning to purchase this model.
Glad it was helpful!
Always you surprise me with new products. Thanks for reviewing.
Thanks Nima!
@@ChaseTheSummit your welcome 😊 👍🏻
Just wanted to report back. I went for my first long roll with the Ticwatch e3 today, and it performed like a champ in terms of the battery. I had a full tank at the start, and was only down to 53% after 3 + hours. So it definitely passed that test.
Wow ! Best all-round review of this watch I have come across. Most reviewers will talk about the functions but not really test the functions comparatively, as you have. For that you get a subscribe, thumbs up, and alert notification on. Also, as an update to your review and final thoughts, they plan to upgrade the wear-os to the latest for this watch in the third quarter of 2023. So the support is still there. Great job !👍👍
Love ur videos. I keep waiting for new ones!!!
Glad you like them!
I'm glad I found this video! I ordered this watch, but then I started hearing bad things about the battery life. I usually go out rolling in my wheelchair for 3 hours to exercise, so if it loses 12% per hour, that's not fantastic, but it at least means it'll get through a full roll without dying. :)
Solid review, thx. Couple things. 1, you didn't mention the essential mode feature that this and the Pro 3 have... That's a feature that was decisive for me in ordering one.
Also to answer your question in the vid, I think you nailed the niche for this watch: entry smart watch with the latest tech. That combo of hardware and price is what's drawing me to it. Glad to know that the sensors are good tho. Cheers.
Thanks! Essential mode is quite handy for saving battery life when not using the watch.
As a smart watch it seems pretty good!
Pretty slick!
I’m a new subscriber thanks for your review
Glad you liked it!
Thorough as always, Dave!
Curious, do you ever bust out the AW6 anymore? Not necessarily for tracking, but maybe for the smart features day to day, or when you’re at work?
Only when I need to test something or compare it to something haha. It's a great watch but I hate charging things!
thanks for actually testing the Sp02 for accuracy. Most people probably don't care about those numbers, that is until their heart starts acting up. Been looking for something to test oxygen levels 24/7 and this watch looks to be the solution. thanks
Glad you found it helpful!
Nice watch to have blood readings on it thank you for the video!
Yup! Thanks for watching.
Great review!!!
Thanks!
Hi, great review! what watch would you recommend for step count training in certain zones, i.e. cardio, fat burn - the E3 or Versa 3, or is there another one you would say is at the top of the list?
Thanks
At this price it's a tough call. The E3 has a lot to offer and is currently just $140 USD!
Great review as always. What's the best Garmin Connect like app available for the E3? I usually do hiking and cycling. Thx
You'd basically be relying on the Mobvoi app which isn't bad but it's not quite on the same level as Garmin.
Coming from a LG G Watch R (2015) i am mostly interested in the new SoC. I´m sad to see Wear OS hasn´t improved much. IMHO still the same bunch of laggy garbage as on my LG G Watch R (whichg i have to reset and setup likew 3x a week).
The Snapdragon 4100 is really nice. It allows Wear OS to actually... work. Comparing it to the Suunto 7, and Casio GSW-H1000 was night and day. Thanks for watching.
Ok business end time: would you pick the ticwatch e3 or the polar ignite 2? I can’t decide now haha. Thanks for the great vids!
Eh... hard to say. Personally I prefer the ignite 2 because it has longer battery life and it's a more sports focus watch. The E3 is more of a smartwatch. Depends which one you're looking for.
Hey Dave! This question isn’t specific to this watch but I was hoping you could shed some light on which watch you would go with in terms of sleekness and design, like a watch that has gps but also would turn heads on a night out. Venu2/forerunner945/suunto7,9/vantageV2/apex pro?? Thank you!
This probably isn’t the greatest suggestion for the Turing heads thing but something like a Fenix 6 would work really well, especially if you like doing other activities, hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, etc. I hope this helped!
All of those will do the job but I think "turning heads" is really beauty in the eye of the beholder. Personally I think the Fenix 6 Titanium is a really nice looking watch, The Apex also looks quite classy, and the Vantage 2 as well. The Suunto 7 is a nice looking watch but really big. Hope that helps!
Great review. What would you say is the most rugged and gps accurate watch for ~ $200-250? I’ve gone through a Forerunner 35 and now 3 Forerunner 235s… All of them with cracked screens, HR accuracy doesn’t really matter since I use EHR but I just need something STRONGER.
Thanks! Love your videos.
Fenix 3 might be found in that price range, or instinct might work better.
The Garmin Instinct Solar has been on sale lately within that price range and it's quite rugged! Otherwise, I would suggest picking up a screen protector or looking at something with Sapphire Glass like a Fenix or COROS.
@@ChaseTheSummit Awesome, thanks for the suggestion. Where did you see it on sale?? I can't find anything in that range.
It's really awesome, I love it. Thank you for this perfect useful vlog , as usual. Get well
Thank you! 😃
I gave up on LCD or Amoled type screens for sports tracking. I just can't seem to read those screens in bright daylight. Nice review!
Yeah, I'm partial to the transflective displays as well. For sports it's just way more functional. Thanks for watching John!
I'm expecting delivery on a Vantage M2 today. I'll see how that goes!
Very good watch. I am waiting for Galaxy watch 4
The leaks look exciting!
@@ChaseTheSummit how does the E3 comapare to the Venu 2?
@@wjkkwjkf2980 E3 has more smartwatch capabilities since it's a WearOS device with Play store access. However, I think the Venu 2 is still a superior watch for tracking health metrics, wellness, sleep, and of course exercise activities since it ties into Garmin Connect. The Venu 2 also has significantly longer battery life and a punchier OLED screen. Hope that helps!
@@ChaseTheSummit Thanks for the response. If you were to use the Venu 2 as a daily smartwatch not just for exercising, what would you miss with the E3? I know that WearOS is better but do you find that there are apps that you can't download or you can't receive and respond to notifications with the Garmin?
How often does this watch sample your heart rate and stress levels compared to Garmin? Keep the reviews coming
1 second during activities, I'm not sure how often when in standby mode. I'll have to look into that.
What's the internal storage of the watch? I also wanted to know if this watch can download the NRC app. Please do let me know whether we can download the NRC app on this watch or any wear OS device and also shed some light on the accuracy of run stats such as heartrate and elevation gain recorded on NRC app in a wear OS device.
Your content is as thorough and informative as ever! Thank you for these amazing videos!! Keep up the good work!
I should have mentioned the storage! It's got 8GB of internal storage but only 7GB is useable. Yes, Nike Run Club is available on the TicWatc E3 (I just checked).
@@ChaseTheSummit okay thank you for checking that out! Much appreciated! Ticwatch E3 is yet to be released in India. I wonder how they will price it in India.
Anyways! Thank you for your prompt response 😁
@@gurusaisankar1301 waiting for same
@@ChaseTheSummit Hey Dave! I am not sure ticwatch E3 is going to be launched in India anytime soon. So, I was wondering if you could review some smartwatches that are ultra budget-friendly and readily available in India. I'm from India, and I'm a student, so I can't dish top dollar for a good activity tracker. There's a new smartwatch in the Indian market, Mi Watch Revolve, which sells for around 110~120 USD, an excellent budget-friendly option for students. Please review this watch in terms of fitness tracking and accuracy of heart rate monitoring if you do get your hands on this piece! Thank you for your content! 😁

Can you pair it with a chest strap for better heart rate results?
Can you customize the data fields (e.g. pave, heart rate, time on first screen)?
Not with the native workout app. But if you download something like "SportyGo" You can customize the datafields and pair an external sensor. Hope that helps.
Hello, I am using a Pixel4 mobile phone. I originally wanted to buy a GW4, but I just read your review and feel that its GPS accuracy does not seem to be very good. In contrast, the evaluation performance of Ticwatch E3 is relatively good. If you are not using a Samsung mobile phone If yes, would you recommend E3 more? Thank you!
That's my take. The hardware of the Galaxy Watch 4 is nicer and it offers a few unique features like the bioimpedence sensor. Other than that though, I'd say the TicWatch E3 is overall a better value. It's got the latest snapdragon processor, likely to be upgraded to Wear OS 3 and it's cheaper.
Greetings from Rwanda! Great review! I've recently switched from iPhone to Android so I'm looking for a watch to replace my Apple Watch Series 4. I'm pretty much sold on the E3, but I'm hoping you can clarify something you mention in this review. You said that you can download Spotify music directly on to the watch. Can you confirm if this is true? I've been told it can only be used as a remote for your phone. Not a dealbreaker, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks for the great information. Your review is pretty much the one that solidified my decision!
Spotify recently updated their Google Wear and IOS apps to now allow offline music downloading. So YES! you can download music to the watch for offline playback.
@@ChaseTheSummit That's great! Thanks so much for the reply!
You can also download UA-cam music onto your watch, works perfectly
I have had one of these for a week now and for me the step accuracy is super innacurate. I don't know if thats just normal from something on your wrist but I'm waking up with over 11000 steps every day and I definitely am not moving around that much ! Also, the heart rate display on the main screen doesn't seem to refresh that often. I'll be sitting down relaxing and it will say my heart rate is at 100bpm. When I check ticpulse it scans for a while and then suddenly drops down to 65. I see so many good reviews I feel like mine must be defective
I've noticed the step tracking on all of the TicWatch offerings to be a little generous as well. In reality though it's just to give you an idea of how active you were compared to other days... and for that purpose it still works. It's just not great if you're comparing it to other devices.
Which one of the two I should go for? Samsung active 2 or Ticwatch E3? Or I should wait a couple of months for some other options as wear os 3 update is yet to come?
I'd go for the E3 but that's just my personal preference. The E3 is supposed to get the Wear OS 3 update soon.
Can you sync it to bluetooth headphones and then stream music over wifi with no phone? Wondering if I can use it at the gym in the pool
You can pair bluetooth headphones and play music that you previously downloaded without your phone. However, you can't stream music without your phone because there's no cellular connection inside the watch.
Its going for 139.99 rn on amazon... thinking I might have to take the plunge.
Great deal!
Awesomesauce.
Thanks!
Can the app you need be downloaded on to a desktop computer like Garmin or can only be downloaded to a smart phone. Otherwise can the watch be used without it interacting with the app if you do not want to add any apps to the watch?
Nope, only works with phones or tablets running Android or IOS.
Can I store music in it and listen using TWS?
I have options, e3, skagen falster 3, galaxy watch 3,active 2, tick watch pro 2020, oppo watch, which should I go for ,
E3 have the latest ones and it is guaranteed a wear os update, but it's a TFT display and plastic build ,I don't care whether there is a wear os inside or not ,my parents ask me what watch I need and I wanted them to buy me cheap smart watches that's like Almost a year or 2 old ,?? So what should I go for??
What about the Galaxy Watch 4?
@@ChaseTheSummit it's too expensive, I would buy it once I get a job ,now this one is offered by my parents so I don't want them to pay too much ,and its my first smart watch ,I would buy a premium with my own money after some yrs
Hey can you connect it to Iphone and check whether calls can be attended via the watch or not?
Yes, you can connect to Iphone.
Tenho um Tic E3. Gosto dele. Pena que é muito gastão de bateria. :(
How do you get stava on it
E3 is getting Wear OS 3 update.
Did they announce when?
It will support wear os 3, google confirmed it
Nice! I'm looking forward to that upgrade.
@@ChaseTheSummit do you use this watch as your main?
Im just here because of the HIIT promotion.
Dunno if it would be possible for me to get an avg. Of 130BPM consistantly for 18 days...
I saw that too! Cool idea!
You do not have to have a 130+ BPM heartrate for 18 days, that'd be pretty cruel. You just have to do the 20 minutes workout each day and have the 130+ vg PBM in those 20 minutes. That seems doable.
Anytime anyone says Dangle, I have to yell "New boot goofin'!"
Did I say Dangle?
magically scratched ug wish i could find a way to get rid of it
Bummer!
For $200 I'd rather get the Affordable GOAT, Coros Pace 2
It really depends. As a Sport Watch the Pace 2 is certainly superior. But as a "smartwatch" the E3 has a lot to offer that the Pace 2 can't touch. Kind of depends what you're looking for!
Can you connect this watch to external HRM?
With the right app you can. I like "SportyGo" from the play store. It can connect to external HRM and also Power sensors as well.
they're doing a promo.. do 20 daily workouts and post it on twitter.. and the watch is free...
Pretty neat! I wish I saw that before posting this video as I would have mentioned it!
@@ChaseTheSummit you can probably still do it. Google it. Just do the workouts. But you have to buy it from them
@@ChaseTheSummit waiting for my chase the summit hat. Going to pimp it by in NYC
@@raulshum8755 I should be mailing them within the next week! I got tracking info today!
@@ChaseTheSummit can't wait. because of you.. i now have 2 GPS watches.. the ignite.. and now this thing.. and my apple watch...
all about the gear.. yo.
Can smart watches only connect to ur smartphone or is it just every reviewer is just rich…O
I'm not sure I understand? The very idea of a smartwatch is to show data from your phone on your watch like text messages, emails, etc... That is unless the watch itself has a WiFi or Cellular connection like the Apple Watch Cellular version. Without the phone being paired the smart watch or TicWatch E3 in this case doesn't do much of anything and there would be no way to view your health stats over time. Hope that helps.
This one or Fitbit versa 3?
Tough call. They both have pros and cones. The TicWatch E3 is an overall more feature packed watch but the Versa 3 is probably a better wellness tracker.
Does this watch have wireless charging?
Nope. It charges using a provided magnetic charger.
Duplicate apps are making me crazy 🤪
Yeah, it's a little strange. Though, I do prefer TicWatch's apps over the standard Google Apps.
I ordered it now. It's 110$
Great deal!
@@ChaseTheSummit would you go with E3 or Realme smartwatch S pro? They are same price
It's a cool watch, but Google assistant barely works on this thing which is a huge drawback.
In what way is it limited?
Warning do your research do not buy Mobvoi products they have no mechanism in place for repair go on their website and check. They will make you start a ticket and then offer you 20% off a new device if that doesnt work for you they will make a final offer of a 50% discount. Buyer beware! Was a big fan of their products and did plenty of research before I purchased. However what good is a product that can't be repaired.
Thanks for sharing your experience. That's unfortunate but not too surprising in todays climate. Repairing tech devices is more costly than outright replacing them at a discount. Even brands like Garmin typically offer a discount on a replacement after the warranty expires but it's all in how they handle it. Hopefully you have better luck in the future.
Stay away from salt water with all of these watches as salt water doesn't mix well with electronics
Thanks for sharing.
Chutiya watch 8 hrs on one charge , abhi li hai is week bekar hai mat lo
thanks for sharing
The watch is absolutely worthless. It does nothing needed for a watch to track fitness. The stride length is inaccurate and the steps are inaccurate. This has been a probem for teh last year and no fix yet. Better off buying a Coros Pace 2
Thanks for sharing. I think it depends what you're looking for in a watch. If you want a sport watch the Pace 2 is certainly a better option but the Pace 2 is also lacking in the "smartwatch" department.
@@ChaseTheSummit Thank you for your response. I have many watches and can never find the right one. The Apple watch is a great smartwatch but the battery life is horrible. I need to charge every time I workout so the watch is on the charger three times a day. I have all the Garmins but they have been having many update problems. The new glances do not always read the data. I have all the Coros watches and they last forever and very accurate. I keep trying by buying a new watch each week.
I have to tell you I love your reviews. I trust you and you do a beautiful job at the reviews. Thank you for many hours of entertainment
