Until roughly 2 years ago I had almost no idea how to cook anything, how to correctly prep or chop anything. Suddenly I gained interest and appreciation for cooking and I'm not too bad now. I cook most the food at home for my children but everything I've learned has been from educational UA-cam videos like this one. I'm 29 years old and after 2 years of cooking I've managed beef wellingtons, proper roast dinners, beautiful dishes like curries and chilli con carne, lots of pasta dishes, various desserts (can't beat a cheesecake) and all I can say is I wish I had this love for cooking 10+ years ago. Just glad I found it eventually
@@ezrabuckman2843 same! Whenever I have my daughter, I encourage her to be in the kitchen helping me. Last thing I want is her being like I was in my 20s and, to be fair, she's already a better cook than I was
Tried cutting an apple yesterday. Struggled a little with the core and wondered if there was a more efficient way to do it. Gordon Ramsay to the rescue!
I've cut apples like this since a teenager. My father asked me where I learned it when I was 13. I told him from math. Divide one into two, then four, then take the core out because if you cut it into 8 you have to take out 8 cores instead of 4. Then lay it flat so it's stable and easy to cut. I was obsessed with efficiency. Learned the lemon juice trick in college. It also has the same effect on the body (antioxidant). Putting a couple oz. of fresh lemon juice in water and drinking it down after cardio sessions can help your body recover a lot faster while still adapting. Oddly enough taking Vit. C tablets doesn't work the same. Lemon juice is the way to go.

Because it makes very little sense to through the trouble of taking out a whole different tool when you have a perfectly suitable tool that is easier and quicker to use already in your hand. The assumption here is that you have enough confidence with the knife to not need the peeler.
I’m 42 and this video just taught me how to slice apples
It's ok
How u 42 and don’t know how to cut a apple at 42 I’m 14 and Ik how to make them
We can learn anything at any age.
There's much better ways, you can just cut off centre and not piss about with cutting the core out after
@@alex48267 Why are you watching this video then
The intense silence and music while he’s showing how to slice apples is too good 😂
Yeah lol. Well it’s Because if they can’t cut apples after he literally just showed them, then they really ate donkeys
"Don't worry about speed, worry about technique". Very true. Speed never produces technique, but mastering technique does give speed.
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. (Doesn't have to be slow but don't be an idiot) lol
Same concept with working out. Perfecting your form is more important then how many reps you do.
But at the beginning, he says to try and be quick to prevent oxidizing.
Not what he said and not true

Love him. Hes always talking you through. Saying the right things and already answering the questions you would have. He’s truly an expert.

Watching GR chop is such a beautiful thing.
Something as trivial as cutting an apple but when Gordon Ramsay does it, it's so damn mesmerizing
they watching him cut the apples like 😮 and the random ahh dramatic music 😂
Gordon is an amazing chef and I have always loved his teaching methods.
I am 59 and this video just taught me how to properly cut an apple and keep it from turning brown
After 13 years of living I finally found out how to slice apples thanks mr Ramsey 🤝🙂
That’s probably years of practice. Makes it look so easy♥️
Never thought that slicing apple could be so scary

I just watched...what?
Wonderful darling
“Like” if you’re here after trying to cut an apple yourself, failed and nicked your finger with the knife 🥲
Why use a freaking knife to cut out the core of an apple when you can just use a peeler???
Because its easier to use it.
