    Just enjoying my Classic 350 as is at the moment, as it's only a month old 😁 Thinking about changing to the touring seat with cosmetic spring kit and take the pillion seat off though 🤔
    I've not test ridden anything else as yet, more out of protecting my bank balance than anything else 😂 I certainly will at some point though and will have a go on different types too. I'd really like to have a go on something really old too 👍
    I find the whole community thing awesome, just having conversations with people that I've known for ages through work, or complete strangers and finding out they ride, all different styles of bikes, but it doesn't seem to matter. That's really special. The closest I've ever come to that before was when I drove a Triumph Spitfire some 30 odd years ago, and would always get a wave, but only from other Spitfire drivers.
    Anyhoo, time for lunch. Ride safe Vinnie and have fun... well you always do 😁

    If you could have only one bike…which would you pick between the Interceptor or Himalayan? The problem I see with the Himalayan, is riding with friends. I don’t think it could keep up with the pack on longer trips. Cruising speed is 70ish mph.

    • @roadblastmedia
      @roadblastmedia  2 роки тому +1

      Id go the interceptor if riding on road with buddies mate! The himalayan is more comfortable and handles way better off road but the 650 has the looks and the power you need! Plus you could always do a scrambler build on the interceptor if you dabble in some gravel road riding!

    Strange that in English riding reckless causes more wrecks. I enjoy having 2 very different bikes, one better for 60 mph and one better for 80 mph. If one needs a battery or new tire, just ride the other one till you get around to fixing it.

    I pickup my Himalayan yesterday. 40 yrs ago was the last time I rode. Riding classes should have come first this time. Between trying to shift, use the clutch, remembering to brake, the turn signals, the weight of the bike, an then traffic. I really fill I've made a mistake In starting to ride. I had trouble with the mirrors. Not being able to see around me. Couldn't get my foot under the shifter. I have a size 13' ft. So I feel the dealership should have made sure the bike fit. But it all falls on me thinking I was still seventeen. I still wanted to ride. But need some help. Take a class if you haven't rode in a while. Be safe out there.

    • @roadblastmedia
      @roadblastmedia  2 роки тому +1

      Wise words mate! Its really easy to adjust the shifter theres lots of tutorials on youtube and yes take a few classes or even find a parking lot and do some low speed skills for a few hours it does wonders for getting to know this bike! Im quite a small guy so the himalayan was quite big for me but once i got used to it its one of my favourite bikes ive owned!

    It's a fantastic brotherhood. I've been on the road riding 34 years now and I am still learning. I love seeing young riders pull in and park so I can chat with them about their bikes. Still not many ladies though apart from pillion. Be good if you sought out some to include them in a ride out and promoting them into the ethos. Few UA-cam ladies but mostly USA. I've lost a fare few friends along the years to. You learning to treat every part of the road and its users as possible accidents is a very valuable lesson indeed. My none riding friends don't understand how I can keep riding but it's either in you or not. I don't live in the sunniest of climate but I ride all year round regardless. Vinnie, those were all good points! I especially like the one where you don't need lots of power to have fun on a bike. Can powerful bikes be fun? In a way, yes; there's a rush when cracking the throttle and taking off like a two wheeled rocket sled. However, because powerful bikes are demanding, one can't relax and enjoy the ride. When I had my ZRX, I felt like I was riding a cranky, temperamental Thoroughbred racehorse looking to toss me for the slightest provocation. On my old W650 and now, my Meteor 350, I don't feel that; I can just enjoy the ride... :)

I learnt 4 things that day. 1 Don't try to get up until you've finished sliding because the results of doing so can be seriously funny. 2 Bikes can be tricky to pick up on wet slippery roads and also seriously funny and nobody ever helps. 3 Council workers can fall about and laugh hysterically without having heartattacks. 4 Don't give the bike a fist full when u get back on the bitumen,rear tyre full of clay because side up like a flat track slider and u nearly fall off again. Results, half clutch lever, bruises.
