Just saw Iron Maiden on the 14th of October, in Portland Oregon , they have not been here for so long, it was so loud, the people were so into singing along, after the show I couldn't even hear for like 30 minutes, no matter when, I saw Iron Maiden, they have never disappointed, to me the greatest band ever. 🤘 UP THE IRONS 🤘
Saw them in LA,guys still rocks the world,Nicko 73 years still kicking drums,Janick still little child on stage, flawless Adrian & Dave duo,Steve keep his highest work rate, never miss a bit on his bass and Bruce, successfully kept voice 25 seconds of highest range,25 seconds, greatest bunch of all times
Infinite Dream is kind of like a ballad and so is Blood Brothers. Going back to early Maiden you have Strange World, Remember Tomorrow. Also Coming Home is another ballad like song. This is the best band in the world and the best live band I've ever seen. Hoping to see them in their upcoming Run For ayori Life tour where they will be playing songs never played life before. I can't wait. Great review Nikki. ❤
I’ve seen them alresady twice. One in Argentina and another one when I was living in Mexico. And the third one will be this December. Always great gigs. Up the Irons!!!
Bruce has said that when he sings, every song is like a movie in his head and he wants to act it out for the audience, that's why he's so theatrical on stage.
Yes, alot of their music is themed like this. They do have some ballads over the years. They have an amazing catalog of music, they have released over 40 albums since 1975.
You should see them! They're so Awesome! I've seen them several times in my country (Venezuela) and here in the US. Actually, I'm going to see them a couple of times at the beginning of next month. And a day after the second show... David Gilmour. And of course, we all are waiting for the World Tour next year, because they're planning to have a setlist for the first 9 albums. Iron Maiden to Fear of The Dark! It's going to be epic. I will recommend you Wasted Years and Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. (Phantom of the Opera is Another good one for Rocktober) Bruce is the Best Storyteller of Heavy Music. Stay Safe.
Iron Maiden's original vocalist Paul Di'Anno passed away in Oct. 2024 (R.I.P) ... he recorded the first 2 Maiden albums ('Iron Maiden' in 1980 and 'Killers' in 1981) before he was replaced by vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who is the current singer. Paul Di'Anno carried on w/ various projects but never experienced major success... He was performing in a wheelchair before he died. You should defenetly react to a german band called Helloween. I think they are right up your alley. They have a song called Keeper of the seven keys witch you can watch here on the tube. Search for the Unitel alive one,the official live video from 2017. Rockin Rolf. 😄😄 So if you wanna talk old school metal im here for you. Hugs from your swedish viking......🤘🤘🤘🤘
Iron Maiden ballads are very rare... a bulk of their songs are like Black Sabbath - starts slow and then explodes into the metal 🤘🤘 However, they did record a few mellow songs... 'Strange world' (w/ original singer Paul Di'Anno - R.I.P.) and 'Prodigal son'. 'Wasting love' - from their 1992 album 'Fear of the dark' (Bruce Dickinson on vocals) ...'Journeyman' (from their 2003 album 'Dance of Death)... Blaze Bayley was the vocalist of Iron Maiden from 1995 to 1998... they had 2 slower songs - '2 AM'... 'Como estais amigos'.
All I ever knew for the longest time was Bruce as the vocalist and never really bothered to listen to their early stuff because I didn’t think it would be worth it, then I listened to Strange World and it’s my favourite Maiden song by far.
The lyrics are an awesome tale. Regards from Portugal :) EDIT: from another post about Bruce Dickinson "I think this concert was 2001 so Bruce was 43 at the time. Now at age 62 he is as energetic as then and better shape than most of us younger fans. Bruce is awesome. Multitalent. Professional airline pilot, national level fencer, historian, beer brewer, author and has had his own radio show. He's also a surviver of cancer tumor on 2015. University of Helsinki promoted he for honorary philosophy doctorate 2015. He has also doctorate to Queen Mary University of London. And is a honorary citizen of Sarajevo. Fine man".
To Tame a land Nikki. from Piece of mind album. another masterpiece from their huge catalogue. Amazing heavy metal band Iron maiden was, is and will be eternally! Up the Irons🤟 Greetings from Barcelona 👋
South american crowds are definitely out of this world... To answer your question, Wasting Love would be the one that could be considered as a ballad. Maiden is the band that introduced me into the world of heavy metal in the mid 80s. I've only seen them 5 times live, the last one being already 10 years ago, I think I should try to catch them one more time before they stop touring... And let's have a thought for Paul Di'Anno, singer on the first 2 albums "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" who passed away today 😢
Number of the Beast. Hollowed Be Thy Name 1982 offical video is live and videoed 2 months b4 the album was released. Revelations. Still Life is another Halloween one. Aces High and The Trooper. 22 Acacia Avenue is like a love song. Can Name like 30 great maiden songs off the top of my head.

Hello beautiful Nikki! They haven't made many really slow songs. "Strange world", "Prodigal son", "Wasting love", "Blood brothers" and "Journeyman" come to mind. A band you should try in my opinion is Helloween, and to start with I would suggest the song "The tale that wasn't right". Greetings and many kisses from Italy. P.S. I've seen Iron live about twenty times and they never disappoint! Pure madness!😊❤❤❤❤❤🥰
Iron Maiden is perfect for rocktober because of their imagery and their mascot Eddie he can be pretty scary looking, early albums like Killers Number of the Beast 666 and all that if you want a long one then the 13-minute Rime of the Ancient Mariner from the classic 17th century poem is it good one
Hope all is well since you didn't have "anything to ramble about " as you put it ,lol. And I see you lost your sticks and Pau costume.Oh yeah I have my freshly brewed coffee so bring it on 9 mins or 15 whatever and with IRON Maiden its a fun ride .For sure a great entertainer/frontman.Love how it picks up after the first few minutes of warming up .The crowd reminds me of TWA at some of the bigger shows now they just need to add Hey Hey Hey ,🤣😂Yes there is something about Fear of The Dark its an earworm as they say that sticks with you .
9 minutes is only a mid-length song for Iron Maiden! I’d say the thing that is consistent across the entire Maiden catalog is they do a lot of story telling so the songs you’ve listened to so far quite representative of what Iron Maiden do. You do need to check out a live performance of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner for peak story-telling!
One option I give you is that you do the polls with Iron Maiden and/or with the bands you want and the one that wins the poll is the one you react to and publish first and the second one you publish the next day and so on, depending on the percentage they got in the polls. The idea is so that you can do all the songs in the polls and not limit yourself to just the one that won.
You want a ballad, listen to empire of the clouds, it's almost 20 minutes long but trust me it goes by so fast. A love song, first that comes to mind is wasting love
I don't know if you want to check this one out or not but "Pet Semetary" by The Ramones is it pretty cool song for october. It's creepy and fun. Kind of punk rockish though
If you look across their song catalog which spans 40 years, war/religion or religion/war, other societal-impacting things like politics or the evils of prostitution, movies, literature, history, and mythology would take up quite a bit of it. They have very few ballad-type stuff; don't waste your time with Wasting Love. The live version of Journeyman or Blood Brothers from this show would be much better choices. From their early days, I would go with Prodigal Son.
Okay I pause this to write this though this is a great song you can say that for majority of Maiden songs this wasn't a song that was a single per se not like Aces High or 2 Minutes to Midnight or even number of the Beast it wasn't off of very popular album compare to the most successful albums what I'm saying is that there's so many better ones but like I said they have so many hits you'll probably enjoy every one of them I would try listening to Wasted Years or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son but I can name dozens so just enjoy the rabbit hole
I often say in most genres now music is so generic and boring simple chords and boring content matter Always about break ups always 3,4 mins long and stuff they often reply well it’s all been done before … I just point to iron maiden the pinnacle of music originality

Seeing a Maiden concert is an experience non-metal people need to watch. Nothing but people completely together in music
They are the fine wine of metal/hard rock.
I’ve seen them alresady twice. One in Argentina and another one when I was living in Mexico. And the third one will be this December. Always great gigs. Up the Irons!!!
The Clansman from the same concert (Rock in Rio 2001) is for me their best live performance
Gonna see them in June in Stockholm, Sweden. The 11th time and yes, they are one of, if not THE best live act you can see.
Best band ever. Best live band ever. Actually maiden is a religion
