Live your life the way you want to and make it as beautiful as you can. I'm heading into twilight years and wish I'd been more focussed on living my life for me rather than others.
These times are exactly about that....living life for yourself. These are times of healing, self-discovery and empowerment, and all this can be achieved through what we know as celibacy. In fact is sort of self-marriage. Doesn't have to be official, of course. So, Nicolas and all the others in the same situation, please take off from your shoulders the idea of having to explain to others how you feel when spend so much time on your own. Whoever is not happy in her/his own company, can't be happy in the company of others either. It is just busy....and that makes them feel better for that moment. That's a very superficial and unhealthy approach of life....thing that won't be supported by the planet for too long!!!!
In respect of moving to Italy, good idea if you feel like doing that, but your community and your under-construction brand revolves around English things. I would suggest that travelling around the rural UK and presenting all sorts of cute traditional English B&B cottages and the rural world around them could be something that your community would appreciate and you can make some money promoting those places too.
Please be like me. I love your life and I have travelled the world but.. I never in a million years thought I would live to be in my 80s. My husband, died at 80 . All my friends have passed. You need to save for your future. Don’t expect family or friends to leave you anything. What we did was buy homes to lease . Then upgrade. It worked for us. You do need to think of your future. ❤
I’d like to request while you’re still in Scotland for future videos of antique shops, book stores, tea shops and gardens. I love the history of Scotland too so perhaps some treks to castles and moors. Just some ideas and requests for future videos.
I enjoyed your answers to the questions sent in by your viewers. I have lived alone most of my adult life since leaving college and having college roommates. I was briefly married in my 30's and then divorced. I have had a few long-term relations and lived with a guy for about three years. But, alas, my relationship history has been one of highs and lows. I am 70 years old now and have become quite comfortable alone. I travel alone, go to dinner alone, and in general enjoy my solitude. I do have several good friends and a much smaller social life than I did in my younger days. Life changes so much. Many of my friends from years ago have married, formed families, moved away, and some have sadly passed away. Only occasionally do I feel lonely. Especially holidays when my friends are involved with their families. Where do I see myself in ten years? Hopefully still alive and well and still enjoying travelling. I love watching your channel. Just keep doing it and enjoying it!
@SBooher1 I could have written that comment myself. My life seems to parallel your’s😄 I was thinking that my ambition for the next ten years is to stay as healthy as I can so I’ll still be enjoying life.
Dearheart, I think you are exceptionally handsome today and your sweater or whatever you call it, is most flattering! Enjoyed this Q&A and you sound like you know yourself and are making the right decisions for you❣️ Blessings 🙂
Nicolas, this was such a lovely video. I am a new follower. You are delightful to listen to and I am enjoying your You Tube Chanel very much. I will be 70 in January. I have had a beautiful life in many ways. You asked us to tell you about ourselves. I grew up in a very special town named Belmont , outside of Boston , Mass. I graduated university and became a flight attendant for 15 years. It was a glorious time to travel. My 2 husbands were a professional footballer and an airline captain, who sadly passed away in front of me very young.. I have lived in many cities in the USA, Canada, and Europe. I lived under a lighthouse in Maine for 34 years, and in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which resembles England very much. I live in Maine now. My partner of 13 years is a retired physician. Life for 10 years has presented me with many health challenges. As you so beautifully said, " You never know what life is going to throw at you" very wise for a young man to say. Enjoy every moment , as I believe you do. My Mum used to say never give up your dreams. My dreams for my next decade are of better health and to travel in the new England states .to some of the very special places and hotels I have yet to see and enjoy a stay in. Like you buying a few special pieces of clothing, I believe in staying in very special hotels if you are going to leave your home. Be selective yet splurge and live your life to the fullest! Don't ever let go of your dreams Nicolas! jannieo❤
My advice would be to tuck a little bit in a savings account every month, and start a pension fund, old age sneaks up on you more quickly than you expect it to. I'm so glad that I invested in a pension fund, because there is no way that I could survive on the miserly state pension that we get here in the U.K. Even when I was at my poorest, I still saved every month, and it's easier than you might think,so go and talk to your bank.
Very good advice. No matter how much you earn, usually there is a chance to save, even if it just a small amount. Many people don’t think of the future and if there is a situation like auto repair, health/dental problems, or home-related repairs, that money can come in very handy. So many live paycheck to paycheck with no savings at all.
A banker is a good start, but by no means should be the end of your search. May I make another suggestion: at your local public library, even if you have your library search the entire UK, get a CD set by Tony Robbins (yes, that Tony Robbins), 21 hours over 18 cd's. There are so many more options that bankers are barred by law from offering. The name of the cd/ book would be helpful: Money, Master the Game, 7 simple steps to financial freedom. As TR states having a license is only step one. As my mentor taught me, listen to what the rich folks say, but more importantly, watch what they do. They may have seven zeros after their main digit but with many options we can do the same with just three zeros. Long point short, look carefully before you leap. Children, warms my heart even as a bi man. Much work but so fulfilling. I suspect you would make a great, loving dad.
I moved about for most of my young life. I am now 70 and have been in my current home 30 years, so at 40, I settled down. I love my garden and watching it evolve has been a labor of love. I have no regrets. I have no children and am ok with that. Enjoy your own company.
Thank you for sharing your life and goals with us Nicolas. Don't rush your move. Italy isn't going anywhere. Be sure you will be happy there before moving. You look as handsome as always in that sweater. ❤❤❤ Dave
Tip to stop alcohol: once you tell everyone, and do it a few times, you get a reputation. I've stopped a few years ago, and I feel so much better! I know if I had fun it wasn't induced
Life in Italy can be tough if you don’t have enough money, everything’s become crazy expensive, it’s not the cleanest and most orderly country but the vibes, the atmosphere and life overall can be very chill and rich of small but joyful experiences. Cheers from an Italian, who really wishes she could be as elegant and classy as you. ✨🫶
I have lived alone for over 35 years. Most the time it's fine, but lately, it's like a constant but distant kind of melancholy. I enjoy and love laughing with friends and have their company. I admire you so much. Thank you for sharing your wonderful self and life! It's a joy to watch and listen to you. 🎉😊❤
I have also wanted to be married and have children. I’ve now accepted that if that doesn’t happen in the next ten years, I will still be content as a very supportive uncle. My plans for the next decade is to be in a rewarding environment where I can continue my professional work in physical therapy. If a life partner becomes a reality, that would be even more amazing. But for now, I will continue to work towards my Doctorate degree and make time for some creative projects to balance my energy.
Focusing on professional and personal goals can be extremely rewarding. You find yourself in that journey, if you haven't already. Then, usually when you least expect it, you meet someone. I think that's the key; don't overthink or dwell on it. If it doesn't happen, your life will still be full.
Awe! I am glad that you will take the time to move there, but remember moving to another country is not only moving to a house...you will adopt the whole country, customs, political situations and more. Prepare yourself first..you are brave and deserve to be super happy you are adorable and smart. ❤
Nicholas, I admire your aim to take a year away from alcohol. It should never hamper Your ability to socialize. If someone doesn’t approve, maybe that friendship needs a closer look. Smart clubs and restaurants will always have good options for their clientele. Definitely it is healthier. It can be a money saver, I.e. cost of a coffee, or tonic water, versus a cocktail. I’m not a tea-totaler, but I can go a year or three without alcohol. If I want a glass of champagne at a wedding, or wine at the Thanksgiving table, I go for it. It’s the idea that it’s not necessary. I can always enjoy others and have loads of fun with or without a drink. You don’t have to worry, but for someone so young, it’s a surprise and a wise approach.
I agree with your comment. A friend should respect your individuality and be secure enough to appreciate differences. A friend should not make you feel uncomfortable for pushing back on the booze, and if they do it may be time to wish them a nice life and move on. Plus, avoiding alcohol minimizes the waistline. And who doesn't want a smaller waist?🙂
My late mother raised 7 children. We were not wealthy at all. Everything was home made with love. I remember my mother use to say “never worry about money, something will turn up” never a truer word spoken. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Italy is the dream of anyone who goes there as tourist. Living there permanently, deal with the burocracy, the chaos, personal unsafety, the lack of respect about public spaces and of international enviroment can be overwelming for a foreigner. I left Italy, which I love, for norther Europe and I didn't regret it.
My friend is German she lived in Italy and said it’s fine if you are Italian , she speaks fluent Italian but she didn’t feel very welcomed unfortunately
Did you see the shout out about you on John Macleans channel? He is a delight and spoke so highly of you in his last video❤️ Enjoyed your video and all your sharing. Your videos are really lovely. I gave up alcohol in October of last year. I have had 3 drinks since..all related to big holidays🤪… why not just give up any drinking at home if you are alone? Will save you a bit of $ and be at least a start! We know it’s not good for us and,oh my, the sugar! But a win is a win.. so start with never drinking alone… then maybe 1 drink instead of 2 when you are out (saving $ again!).. another win! You can be proud of any gain. And, just because you enjoy it doesn’t mean it’s necessary… I hope you go for a win!
As one who enjoys alcohol, and doesn't have addictive behavior, I say just drink slower, alternate with water. As an older, wiser woman (68 coming up on July 4!🤔), that's what I do now if out with friends. And if in, I limit myself to a 1/2 wine glass. The European glass size, not those huge American sizes😅!
Please remember that there is a difference between 'being alone' and 'being lonely'...it really comes down to mindset. Personally, being alone is a wonderful space where I enjoy my own company and spend time with my thoughts. Being lonely is when I wish I had someone with me and I feel the void of connection with others.
I love your channel so much. Have never gotten "lonely" vibes from the videos, but rather a rare and exquisite peace. When I watch your videos, it's literally like someone hits a pause button from the surrounding chaos and it becomes my own mini therapeutic session. It's actually quite powerful. I would love to see some of your friends pop in every now and then, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing!
So good to see you looking so good Nicholas! If you try for goal number two again, and I hope you do, you will find that socializing with a soda, or tea or sparkling water is just as good. It’s not the booze you are there for is the people! 75 years as a teetotaler and am able to swim 50 laps three times a week in an Olympic pool, have traveled Scotland for three months in a RV and climbed Ben Nevis, before that did Ireland and climbed Skellig Michael and the list goes on and on. Never been sick for any length of time have my tea time every day no matter where in the world I am . Life is so much more than anything you will ever find in a bottle! Bully for you , you will make it next time and be healthier for it! Think of the money you will save! You don’t even have to tell anyone, just start doing it!
Agreed. Just started. Never said anything. 3 months later was first a good friend noticed. Good no alchohalic wines. Usually just had ice water with lime slices. I felt it helped my social anxiety. Found helpful ways to really work on it when gave up my crutch. Important thing is friends love you and you Can socialize with others who are drinking
I used to think I wasn't cut out for marriage and children, and then I found the right person. Kids are very hard work, but it's very rewarding as well. In 10 years, I hope to retire early at 52, and start traveling more and seeing the world. 😊
Nicholas.... I think you should move to Italy. If you don't like living in Italy, you can always move back! At least.... you need to follow your dream. Your video was nice today. Love the jumper you are wearing! Wishing you a great decision.
I have never seen you look better in the face. You look so self assured and the close up frontal shots showed how well you look after your complexion. A vision of beauty ❤
I love your honesty, Nicolas. I think it is refreshing to many people to see that in the videos you are like one of the family and we are just having a conversation. And you do it in such an elegant way. ❤
Nicolas, I have read many of the replies, some quite heated. I think it would be good to visit Italy often, rather than move there at the moment. You also talked about the Cotswalds, or maybe extend your time where you are. I live in Australia and am from the UK and sometimes feel restless but the realities of living in the UK are very challenging. So I have been here 3 yrs and now plan to stay put and build on my life here. These questions are not easy. We, your community that you have built offer you 100% support whatever you do. For two years now I have been watching your videos. Well done and thank you.
I think your financial philosophy is great and your fashion is always nice to see. You already share so much, we are literally in your home as viewers. I don’t feel like I would want more on top of what you already give, it’s already very open and very generous. I do wish you kept going expanding the products u sell. The linen napkins were beautiful 😊
If he doesn't save he'll be reliant on state benefits when he is old. Live for the day is a very short term, irresponsible attitude. i don't think he has learned the value of money as he does not work and relies on Patreons giving him money every month as hand-outs. Just telling it as it is...
You are so elegant and simple at the same time... It's good to see that you're real, you have problems and limitations like the vast majority and you know how to deal with them and live life in the best way. Thanks for answering the questions. You are incredible. I'm Brazilian and I've been studying English for years on my own. By the rhythm of your speech most of the time I understand everything you say. It's gratifying.
Loved your Q&A as always. Feels like I'm chatting with a friend. Achieving your goal of rising early and going to the gym is admirable. So easy to to lured to stay in bed where it's comfortable! (I'm well practiced at that!). As far as alcohol...i understand thinking you need to have a drink if you're socializing. I think we are conditioned to feel that way. It definitely was like that when i was coming of age in the 80s. But going out to socialize shouldn't mean you have to drink. Just a club soda and lime can suffice but maybe have a glass of wine every now and then. Love the all the warmth from you subscribers. You should feel so loved😘
Hey Nicolas! I have been alcohol free for about five years and it has been fantastic! I understand your struggles, but I want to say that once you lose the desire to drink you will realize that you don't need to drink alcohol to be in social places. Fortunately for me, five years ago, I had a terrible night with alcohol and developed a negative aversion to alcohol. Overnight, I completely lost the will/desire to drink alcohol and I am so glad that it has happened. At the beginning, I thought parties and social outings would be awkward, but the majority of people really don't care and your body will feel so amazing the longer you are without alcohol. Anyways, I love your vids, keep up the good work! Hope to see you in Italy one day!
Well done. My husband has now been alcohol free for a year after drinking heavily for over 40 years. It was destroying his life and just before covid hit it came to a head that he was also destroying my life and our children’s too so he had to move out until he sorted himself out. It took him a couple of years but he finally realised that he was about to loose everything so he made the decision to stop drinking completely. I took him back as I didn’t want to give up on our 35 years of marriage and I felt that I owed him a second chance despite how much he had hurt me (as alcohol made him abusive and completely different to the gentle man I married). Thankfully this has worked out great as with mine and our children’s support he hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol since he moved back in to the family home. I know just how hard it is to change your life in this way but the benefits are so great especially regarding health and well-being. Xx
Totally! I have been alcohol free for about 40 years. It's just not a "thing" anymore. And you don't have to mention it at an outing or dinner, simply order non alcoholic drinks.
Nicolas, wish to express how much I enjoy your vlogs In this more recent vlog I missed seeing your little fur kid Also love how clear are your own Intentions..actually Brilliant. Best wishes for the fulfillment of your ambitions. Mary Vancouver Canada 🍁
If you’re getting antsy in Edinburgh, try another country. I would love to see vlogs from Italy - what you will face there and how you will thrive there. Nicholas, you are really young and now is the time for you to take risks. If not now, when? Don’t ask yourself if you should move to Italy. Ask yourself - will I regret not moving to Italy? Nothing in this life is permanent so, if you get over there and don’t like it, give it a year or so and then go somewhere else. You don’t have to commit your entire life to Italy. And you are blessed with the perfect circumstances for moving - no partner, no kids, no home to sell and no 9-to-5. AND you actually have a good friend living there. How lucky are you?!
Your voice and the cadence of it has been such a comfort to me. I lost my mother in November and you have helped me tremendously with my grief. Thank you for sharing, the comfort you have given me is priceless.
I think you have impeccable taste in clothing, home decor and recipes! I always enjoy your content and truly hope you attain your financial goals with your business. I really admire your attaining the goal of getting up early and heading to the gym!!!👍🏻
it is always very nice to get to know you better. You are a very interesting young man, and I so look forward to your videos. I had no doubt that you are a social person, for you are so easy to like and enjoy. As you get older your ideas of life will change. Let me say, having children is a very rewarding experience, but not for everybody. Don't be pressured into thinking you have to settle down and have children. Thank you again for letting us visit, you are a gracious host. Love to Sofie.
Go to Italy !!!! Fly , take wing! You can do anything that brings you joy , move on! Your young, healthy and free. Go explore you may be surprised in a good way ❤
Failure will never be synonymous with your name and efforts in my mind. Congratulations on your whatever you choose to do with your life. Please keep us informed. My daughter quit drinking a few months ago. However, she has surrounded herself with supportive people. She and her family drink mocktails and non alcohol beer. Which has made a big difference in her current sobriety. Whatever the outcome I will always be proud and supportive of her. As I am of you.
🏠1st of All I'm very happy to hear you wont be moving to Italy or making up ur mind till the end of this year.... ❤🎁Live ur life as u wish, stay away from negative people & always remember U come 1st... 🥂Looking forward to ur next Video, so on that note, enjoy shopping, having a cocktail, moving furniture or redecorating as needed. ✝️Life is short & always remember to give thanks to the Lord for our everyday Blessings...
I heard your disappointment in not being able to give up drinking. It's socially tough to be the only one not partaking in a very decent glass of wine, or whatever. I completely understand. I remember giving up alcohol in my 20s when I was a bartender in Los Angeles. Try serving drinks that way! But what really got me to stop drinking was the effect of alcohol on my face. I was an actress, (it's L.A.) and I couldn't risk an audition looking puffy-eyed. So vanity is what got me to stop! Good luck, my dear. You mustn't be so hard on yourself. You are young only once. I love what you do! You're great on camera. Best wishes, Bev
There's a huge cost of living crisis here in Australia, too, Nicholas. We try to eat out once a week in a small cafe rather than an expensive restaurant as it's nice to have a treat. I always buy clothes in outlets or sales. Hopefully, things will improve for all of us in the future.
Nicolas, follow your heart’s desire it’s called growth. Opinions is just that, one’s opinion. The best to you. I’m quite familiar with Italy 🇮🇹 and it’ll be a wonderful experience for anyone. I’m doing central coast of Portugal at the moment. ❤
As someone with a one year old, I can tell you that traveling is extremely hard HOWEVER this year has gone by so fast that it’s felt like a week. My ability to travel will return to me one day, but for now I am okay with just watching her grow. I look forward to the adventures my daughter and I will have together someday 💜
Thankyou Nicholas! I really enjoyed this video. Many helpful tips in there. Especially around business plans for the future, saving and getting up earlier! Wishing you much health, happiness and success in all areas of your life. At least you can always visit Italy 🇮🇹 if you don’t actually move there! Thankyou for the inspiration. Philippa, South Australia
Here I am again - I'm such a chatty cat - but it's nice to hear that you're not lonely. I've asked you that question when you're making the cooking videos, and you seemed lonely eating all by yourself. Happy to hear that you have quite the busy social life. And it's strange that I ask people that if they're lonely, because I don't socialize a whole lot, so when I get off of work, I go home - hang out with the dogs - take them for a walk- do my workouts in the home gym. I love my solitude, and don't feel lonely at all; but then I go ahead and ask other people if they're lonely. Interesting......🤔
Foreign land looks good and can hold big dreams but can hold many challenges and the saying is that the grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence’ but nothing ventured nothing gained you can always try it and if you don’t like it you can always come home thank you Nicolas for sharing your vlogs
Thank you Nicolas for your openness, it was a very interesting video. Style, good taste, a good upbringing and happiness do not depend on money. There are enough people who have one thing but lack everything else. You have what the others lack and I hope you are happy and your wishes come true.
Not sure in the UK but here in Australia, SOME of the 0.00% non-alcoholic wines (mainly white wines) are actually very easy and pleasant to drink. I found it very easy to stop and yet still be socially drinking. What was also amazing is how many friends would drink 0.00% alcohol wine with me and thank me for it. Enjoy your content a great deal. Take care!
Oh Nicolas, I love your sweater and white jeans. You have the Ralph Lauren vibe going on today, so chic. Hey, live your life as you want while you are young and can enjoy.
Nicolas, thank you for sharing your life and talents with us, your biggest fans. And good luck with all of your plans. I know you’ll go far, whatever you decide in your life. ❤
Nicolas, thank you for being so open and genuine in sharing your life and goals with us. Opportunities like this deepens the sense of friendship with your loyal followers. I thought your best comment was to say that you want to have fun and feel fulfilled in life. It seems that more and more people are unhappy, lonely, or in some conflict in life. Your words are encouraging to others. May we all turn to healthy and positive ways to feel rewarded and fulfilled in life. God bless you and all your endeavors in life. Robert.
Nicolas love xx. Sweetie you can if you put your mind to it you can overcome alcoholic drinks. It's better for your health . Now find out if there are non alcoholic drinks that does not affect your health. And drink plenty of water. You need to be hydrated. Alcoholic drinks can dry you out. So think about it. You are very special person we all love your candid conversation and how detailed you explain it to us. If you move I'm going to miss Edinburg. Such a beautiful place. But put God before you and He will direct you to where you will be. Lovely view and beautiful picture of you and your apartment. Take care of yourself sweetie. Have a blessed day. Hello to Sophie I'm sure she is resting. Stay safe and protected. ❤❤❤❤❤
Being comfortable, healthy and doing what you love is a good life. A significant other to go through life with is wonderful , but not a prerequisite for happiness. And as for children, the hard work is worth every moment. What a wonderful insight to this time in your life. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Nicolas, love your videos right from the beginning of your channel! In regards to alcohol, don't feel bad, the goal I think is too extreme, not that you don't have enough "willpower". (Im a nutritionist by the way). I would personally recommend that you should just try to drink less often instead of cutting it out, e.g. instead of none at all, even just be like 1 -2 glass of wine or whatever per week, limit to weekends perhaps, and on other days you could have non alcoholic alternatives e.g. herbal teas/tisanes, a mocktail, hot chocolate, etc. Then you can have it sometimes on a social occasion, and on other times you can just tell your friends, I don't feel like having it today (a more intuitive eating type approach). Telling yourself you cant have something often makes you feel like you want it more, this is true especially for sugary treats, chocolate, etc I think as well. Best of luck!
I do wonder where the doggy is. I never hear his pet bark or anything in the videos I’ve seen so far. Also, I’m loving seeing young people living on their own and living life then if they want settle with someone. That’s what I call living the life ❤
Thank you Nicolas for the Q&A …I want to tell you that you are someone that I appreciate very much ❣️a beautiful and charming person, with class and I wish you all the happiness in the world 💞✨🩵
Very good morning Nicolas! It is so lovely to watch your videos and getting to know you has been a delight and treat as it added beauty and joy to my own, that is something you have naturally and I am grateful for. I found it so humbling and sweet at the same time, how you were just chatting like a friend would do, about your goals, successes and challenges....it inspires me to do the same too! 🥰 Whenever you cooked and sat to eat... i always thought and looked at it, as if we were cooking and eating with you 👀❤ so it never crossed my mind that you'd be lonely, you are a young man full of life, dreams... not for a second would i ever imagine you without socialising 😁 You emanate balance, it is good to be intentional on how we use our time and who we desire to be and share it with. Well done for getting up early and hitting the gym 🙌 i share the same joyful success in my life too!! The trick of leaving the alarm clock outside the room or far from the bed, so you got to get up... is a winner!!🤗 Sending lots of love and gratitude from my heart to yours Nicolas. 🤗❤ Little note, the scones recipe you taught us Nicolas, we have followed and the most beautifully delicious scones come out without fail. We make them for friends, like little gifts, a home treat too... why not? 😉 I thought you'd love to know this too ❤
The grass is not always greener somewhere else ,I have found everywhere I have lived in the world has it's problem and plusses , also regarding alcohol I found as I got older it gave me up , and I didn't feel the need for it as I became more comfortable within myself . Keep up your courage , keep believing in yourself .
Nicolas…you are very special…. A young man that is sophisticated, gentle, transparent, vulnerable and brave all at the same time. Sending you love and good energy!!
so we just came back from Italy for 3 months stay, we thought about moving to Abruzzo I have not yet been to that area. We were in Naples. I like Milan very much. I just don't yet. I agree with the mulling around you really don't get anything done that way. Well, I am still thinking about it. Italy homes are very cheap. Good luck.
Great video Nicholas. You're always so welcoming and open about your life. I feel like a friend. Working hard is something we do to survive but enjoying your life is key to happiness. All in moderation. I have always rented so I could just pick up and go wherever, whenever however a goal of mine now is to put down some roots and buy a home. I'm very much looking forward to this next chapter.
Ya, you need your own house, spouse and another dog or 3, fluffy ones with a beautiful garden 😄 I think you should stay here, starting over in a new country is very hard, you should do tons of research before you make a big move like that.🥰
Yes come to Italy handsome!! I live here in Italy in Sardinia, the island! Your manners and politeness could just be what we need, a lot of taste, the importance to redescover how important the daily things are such as the ones you do and put forward in the videos.. taking care of the flowers, preparing a soup or a meal, setting up the table or a garden.. your skills are very important and should be thaught..
I admire how you set goals/new year resolutions and actually follow them. I for one does not even set goals and just breeze through life doing what I love. My demanding job does take centre stage though. Finally, all the best to you and may you achieve success in everything you do. Love your videos 💖
Hi Nicolas, great video as always. I am always touched by your sweet nature and honesty. I've been watching your videos since the beginning and I have always admired these qualities in you.
Having a child (if you do it right) changes you and makes you a better person. You start living for another who becomes the love of your life and in 20 or so years they break your heart. It truly changes your soul you evolve into a much better person. It’s not for everyone. Self centered people needn’t bother this endeavor.
Hi everyone! Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on this video - it really means a lot to have your support! I love using Babbel! What a great collab ✨
Live your life the way you want to and make it as beautiful as you can. I'm heading into twilight years and wish I'd been more focussed on living my life for me rather than others.
That's sad to hear, I totally agree with you. 😢
Start at once ...no regrets ❤
Absolutely agree ❤
Me too!
Same here
Thanks for sharing your story with us here! Sending love and best wishes x
@SBooher1 Thank you for sharing some of your history. I reflected on your journey. 🪴
I love Italy, but I would be bummed if you weren't doing videos in the UK anymore, one reason I enjoy this channel.

He's in Edinburgh, so it's only a matter of time before his videos aren't in the "UK" anymore... ;-) #ScottishIndependence

Dearheart, I think you are exceptionally handsome today and your sweater or whatever you call it, is most flattering!
Enjoyed this Q&A and you sound like you know yourself and are making the right decisions for you❣️
Blessings 🙂
Thanks for the advice!
Do you still trust our government and financial institutions?
@rachelconradie8480 Me, personally? No. Learn all you can, and you can play the game better than the posh boys.
Don't really worry about having kids or feel it's just something you're supposed to do. You can be a great uncle and enjoy spoiling them.
Thank you!
I moved about for most of my young life. I am now 70 and have been in my current home 30 years, so at 40, I settled down. I love my garden and watching it evolve has been a labor of love. I have no regrets. I have no children and am ok with that. Enjoy your own company.
40 sounds like a nice age to settle down! Thanks for your wisdom x
Thank you for sharing your life and goals with us Nicolas. Don't rush your move. Italy isn't going anywhere. Be sure you will be happy there before moving. You look as handsome as always in that sweater. ❤❤❤ Dave
Thanks for your support!
@@NicolasFairford It's my pleasure!
Life inthe Uk is extremely expensive too and prices have sky rocketed
Thanks so much for your perspective!
@@NicolasFairford with pleasure ✨
You’re adorable. I really appreciate how down to earth and humble you are. It makes your classiness more authentic. Love your videos!
Very kind - thanks so much x
I have lived alone for over 35 years. Most the time it's fine, but lately, it's like a constant but distant kind of melancholy. I enjoy and love laughing with friends and have their company. I admire you so much. Thank you for sharing your wonderful self and life! It's a joy to watch and listen to you. 🎉😊❤
Thanks so much for your kind wishes. Sending love x
@@NicolasFairford and sending love right back. Thank you for your kind response.
Well said!
Focusing on professional and personal goals can be extremely rewarding. You find yourself in that journey, if you haven't already. Then, usually when you least expect it, you meet someone. I think that's the key; don't overthink or dwell on it. If it doesn't happen, your life will still be full.
Your ten year plan sounds solid! Wishing you the very best
Do your due diligence. Visiting Italy for a holiday is very different to living there. I wish you all the best.
My late mother raised 7 children. We were not wealthy at all. Everything was home made with love. I remember my mother use to say “never worry about money, something will turn up” never a truer word spoken.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Do what you love, you can always change your mind if you don’t like it.
I love that!
Agreeing 100pc!!
I love Italy, l was born there, but l live in London!!
Yep. its a fascist country
Thanks for your valuable insight!
My friend is German she lived in Italy and said it’s fine if you are Italian , she speaks fluent Italian but she didn’t feel very welcomed unfortunately
You may think your bureaucracy is the worse, until youve lived in Italy.
Did you see the shout out about you on John Macleans channel? He is a delight and spoke so highly of you in his last video❤️
Enjoyed your video and all your sharing.
There are many people here and elsewhere who care about you. Your home is beautiful. Your work is commendable and classy. Give yourself a hug.
Thanks for the Q&A catch-up. Was watching John Maclean's latest video and he gave you a shout-out and raved about your tea.
A rare and exquisite peace - I love that a lot!
Come visit Palm Beach, your decor fits in here and you can enjoy the antique shops finding tons of stuff for new clients in the USA!
Thanks so much for your advice and encouragement!
I love your sweater! Thank you for sharing the information. Best of luck to you 😊
I used to think I wasn't cut out for marriage and children, and then I found the right person. Kids are very hard work, but it's very rewarding as well. In 10 years, I hope to retire early at 52, and start traveling more and seeing the world. 😊
You could always try “dry February” - shortest month of the year !
This is very true, I really appreciate Nicholas’ videos.
Thanks so much - that really means a lot
Where ever Your Life Journey takes You I know will be Loved.
I wish for you all the things you hope for, or something better!
Thank God you said to just not worry and live your life in the moment!! I needed to hear this so much today. ❤
I think a lot of us would agree, best wishes to you❤🙏
You are so elegant and simple at the same time...
That is such a lovely thing to say! Thank you so much x
your voice is pure asmr ✨
What a Wonderful Human Being!
I love the transparency! ❤
You can tell when the content is genuine. And it makes me want to keep watching.
Hi, Nicolas, I just have to say that I enjoy all of your videos, love them!!!!!!
Congratulations you been alcohol free!!
Yes, congratulations. More people need to hear your encouraging words and advice.
Robert .
Nicolas, wish to express how much I enjoy your vlogs
In this more recent vlog I missed seeing your little fur kid
Also love how clear are your own Intentions..actually Brilliant.
Best wishes for the fulfillment of your ambitions.

Happy for you Nicholas. Bello ragazzo should not be alone.
Your voice and the cadence of it has been such a comfort to me. I lost my mother in November and you have helped me tremendously with my grief. Thank you for sharing, the comfort you have given me is priceless.
I am so sorry for your loss. Glad I was able to offer some comfort, in my own small way x
Be you.
Keep doing what you want to do.
Wherever life takes you, you will enjoy it!

Italy looks so Amazing!! So gorgeous, Amalfi Coast, Lake Como, Positano! Italy would be my dream.❤
Well said❤❤❤
Very sweet of you - thank you!

Adore your honesty. New to the channel and I just love your calming demeanor. Keep up the wonderful work.

Always a lovely watch, I say pursue your dreams and allow nothing to stand in your way! It will all unfold as it should.
Foreign land looks good and can hold big dreams but can hold many challenges and the saying is that the grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence’ but nothing ventured nothing gained you can always try it and if you don’t like it you can always come home thank you Nicolas for sharing your vlogs
Be strong self-confidence and courageous.
Take care!
Sounds cool! Thank you so much
Oh Nicolas, I love your sweater and white jeans. You have the Ralph Lauren vibe going on today, so chic. Hey, live your life as you want while you are young and can enjoy.

That’s what I call living the life ❤
Shes a very well behaved lady😍🐕
My dear aunt who was a recovering alcoholic told me that “alcohol gave me wings but took away the sky”.
Love your sweater/top Nicolas. You look really good in those colors. Very chic!
Whenever you cooked and sat to eat... i always thought and looked at it, as if we were cooking and eating with you 👀❤ so it never crossed my mind that you'd be lonely, you are a young man full of life, dreams... not for a second would i ever imagine you without socialising 😁 You emanate balance, it is good to be intentional on how we use our time and who we desire to be and share it with.
Well done for getting up early and hitting the gym 🙌 i share the same joyful success in my life too!! The trick of leaving the alarm clock outside the room or far from the bed, so you got to get up... is a winner!!🤗
Sending lots of love and gratitude from my heart to yours Nicolas. 🤗❤
Little note, the scones recipe you taught us Nicolas, we have followed and the most beautifully delicious scones come out without fail.
Bravo have fun, but please save a little for a rainy day. ❤
Such honesty! It gives me comfort just hearing your voice.
Good luck.
You are young...have nothing to worry about..
You are adorable..and I am sure there is someone for you, right around the corner...just enjoy you.
Wishing you the very best with all of your dreams and goals

Thank you so much and same to you.
Ya, you need your own house, spouse and another dog or 3, fluffy ones with a beautiful garden 😄
I think you should stay here, starting over in a new country is very hard, you should do tons of research before you make a big move like that.🥰
Loved this Q and A. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy life wherever your travels take you.
Thank you for sharing these confidence. I am impressed by how reasonable you are in planning your life !
I have heard through a life coach that staying in an area for 2 months is a good general rule of thumb to see if you will enjoy living there :)
Love your videos 💖
you are the epitome of class and beauty, Nicolas!
Hi Nicolas, great video as always.
I am always touched by your sweet nature and honesty. I've been watching your videos since the beginning and I have always admired these qualities in you.
Don’t move. We love you filming in the UK
Having a child (if you do it right) changes you and makes you a better person. You start living for another who becomes the love of your life and in 20 or so years they break your heart. It truly changes your soul you evolve into a much better person. It’s not for everyone. Self centered people needn’t bother this endeavor.
