You were way too nice to them. From the moment she threatened you to take your daughter you should have been proactive and gotten a restraining order from there and I would have gone no contact. Them wanting to meet at the Cafe would have been a huge ni and them wanting to be in your daugtets life so they can manipulate her and make them seem like they are cool and have her stay with them would open the door for them to become care givers. And uou can stop them from seeing your daughter. They may be family but they have no right or entitlement or access to your daughter legally.
