      Where were you in 1993? Are you kidding? This is some of the most basic bass playing he has ever did. Obviously you're not a musician, he is displaying the sound of the guitar effect he's not trying to make it all about him, he is trying to sell the guitar effect pedal.

      I don’t know exactly how he does it but I know he does use bass guitars with active pickups to get the click sound.

      Active preamp in the bass. Drive bass and treble on the amp, turn the mids to zero.

      He probably needs a lot of gear to reproduce his actual "korn tone". He is using a combo amp here. And I am not defending him, just saying it is not fair to expect him to sound HUGE without HIS gear.

    • @soullessSiIence
      @soullessSiIence 6 років тому +2

      You don't need huge "gear" to have low end. I had a Rockbass low tier Warwick and a 75w ampeg combo amp. Boy, that shit could break windows.

    • @funkypunk1001

      @@janski1982 no srsly. In the world of bass playing, for a guy that's been in the industry for so long, his name never gets dropped. He did a wonderful job at inspiring a wave of talentless hacks to grow beards and beat the hell out of a 5 string bass like untamed monkeys though. I hate to roast him like that but a guy who's played bass for 35 years full time should be nothing short of a virtuoso at the instrument by now.

    • @andrepereira744
      @andrepereira744 3 роки тому +5

      @@funkypunk1001 I kinda agree with you. But to be fair, "you" don't have to be a virtuoso just because "you" play for 35 years. Especially when we all know that he never wanted to be one in first place.

    • @funkypunk1001
      @funkypunk1001 3 роки тому +2

      @@andrepereira744 Yeah but he makes a living off of it and has since before I even existed. Time to get good. Plus you can tell by this video Fieldy is not enthused by nor does he actually use that pedal. Clearly TC was having a hard time selling their crappy chorus pedal and had to make it an 'artist signature' so shoppers will actually look at it twice. They probably called everybody they could and Fieldy was the only one who picked up the phone.

    • @andrepereira744

      @@funkypunk1001 Again my dude, i totally understand your point. And btw, you're killing it with those examples! Ahah
      As a bassist myself who used to look at him as an influence, its almost embarrassing.
      Still, what he did and do in Korn is more than enough and unique. Also, he probably don't know how to play a G major scale that millions of bassists can play, but in other hand, in those milions, none can sound like him.
      Many many world fame musicians are like him or even worst.
      And all those musicians prefer to write a good song that millions would like, than to be some instrument expert that thousands appreciate.
