You are a lifesaver....I had four price guns...three not working......it took me about an hour each...but I now have 4 working price guns at our store....and the guys from the nearby hardware store are going to bring their non-working gun to me on Sat. Thank you so much ! Julie Robards
You are correct, videos on repairing, replacing, or anything having to do with the inner working of these things (even SIX YEARS LATER) are hard to find. Thank you for creating this very helpful video!
Thank you for the video. I have taken this thing apart many times but I’ve always been careful to note where all the parts go. This time I was in a hurry and didn’t note parts and couldn’t remember where one of the wheels go. So thanks again
Thanks for this video. We use these to batch specimen samples in a lab. Often get labels jammed when people don’t know how they work. Just had to repair them! Thanks for your detailed video. 😊😊
Thank you so much, my wife works for a company who seems to think that these machines are to be replaced every 100 years or so, which in turn makes her job very difficult. Through your instructional video I've repaired her machine and it made her life at work easier. Buy this man a beer!
Watched this 3 yrs ago when labels got stuck inside. Watched again today and, since I know my labeler very well now, it is even more usefull. Thanks for this GREAT video!
I was trying to put my gun back together after clearing a jam. This video helped me figure out that a piece was missing. I found it and fixed it. Thanks for the video!
Man I never thought I will be able to put it back. I was going to throw this out in the garbage. But I was like let me just check UA-cam real quick and there you go.. you saved it.. thanks man. I appreciate it
Absolutely love this video, so helpful for putting the darned thing back together. Really wish you'd do a teardown of the 1115 two-line model. I've got two torn down, but can't figure out how to put them back together.
Awesome video! An employee took apart two of our guns, after which neither worked, It was a simple misaligned set of arrows. Your video was a big help.
Muchas gracias por el video. Va muy rápido la explicación, lo debería de explicar paso a paso, por favor, porque algunas imagenes se necesitan mas de cerca
Unable to find any source for the replacement print bands at all. Is there no one producing these? Literally every label gun my business owns now has broken printing bands and I can't find anywhere to purchase replacements from.
I have never seen replaceable bands for Monarch guns you are correct but I do know you can take them apart and put good ones in with bad ones and replace and only make one broken gun out of about four I hope this makes sense those bands do come out but it can be difficult to hold them together you may need for hands
Wish I could find a video on how to put a Monarch 1131 back together. Top part was taken apart to remove a jam and came apart in pieces. Can't figure how to put it back together
That's for the vid, dude. Have opened these up before. But, this time, more pieces fell out. Thought I was screwed, till I found your vid. Now, I'm an expert, too.
Hi, does anyone know where I can get the number bands? Also, one of my guns the numbers arent coming out, I am not sure if its the ink roll or if the gun has a problem. Thank you
Have the same trouble with my 30-year-old Monarch 1115 units. The mechanics work perfectly but the print bands have disintegrated from age, making them non-functional. Researching online I cannot find any current source for new bands. Computer labeling has made these wonderful devices obsolete and not profitable to make or maintain. You can't get parts from the original manufacturers, who have long since left the business. The bands are a difficult item to make, so there is no aftermarket production of spare parts for them.
@@RichardKinch Well, it's not that no one is making the parts, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Monarch is exclusively it now. I just got off the phone with them and they want to charge a whopping $10+tax per replacement band! I asked if they had bulk discount as, like you, all my companies label guns are right around the thirty-years old mark and it's like those rubber printing bands in every gun chose to disintegrate this summer with the last of thirteen guns having its' bands fail on us today. We're left high and dry with ten-of-thousands of labels, spare ink rollers, and zero usable guns. It's now quite the problem as the Monarch representative I just spoke with on the phone teased the fact that 24 replacements bands needed to fix just one of our labelers (that's $240) is $7.75 higher than the cost of a new model 1155 label gun. Whole point of choosing Monarch when we bought these was that we could buy cheap replacement parts! Well guess what, now the replacement parts are nowhere to be had except from Monarch, and very evidently they've priced them so absurdly high so as to force customers to buy new label guns instead of repairing the ones we're already invested deeply in. I'm seriously tempted to say screw-you Monarch and buy some cheapy Chinese hunk of junk equivalent capability 2-line labelers for $30+tax each, because at least with those I know they aren't meant to be repaired, but for the price who honestly cares? A $30 Chinese made 2-line labelers versus a American made labeler at a staggering $232.25, that while designed to be serviced I know my company if going to end up paying way to much to buy parts for. Sick thing is our model 1170 label guns use the same exact bands as the current model 1155, so throwing money at buying new 1155's just makes no sense at all since when those need parts we'd be stuck in the same proverbial boat of parts costing more than a new label gun! I'm so fed up with this!
@@psoarchive It is a predicament with no ready or economical solution. I wish Monarch would be responsible, but if they won't be responsible, that's their prerogative as the OEM.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was trying to get what I thought was one label unstuck (instead I found a goldmine of labels stuck everywhere), and through all of my excavating, I accidentally unhooked the number stamps and all of a sudden the counter was full of small washers and spools. Those who knew how to fix the pricing gun had already left for the day. Needless to say, your video definitely saved me XD
Loved the video! Helped fix our labeler. Liked and Subscribed! We have an extra part, though - no idea where it goes! squared quarter-circle plastic bit with two prongs, from when pull handle was removed. Monarch 1115, pics: imgur.com/a/OpdyK any ideas? labeler works, so i have no idea what this does..
Yes on the left and right there is a slit take two pennies one slit says hold insert a penny in the slit that says hold and hold it in place and the other one slightly crank it just a little bit pull the trigger twice and repeat the process until the sticker is lined up where you want it I do this almost every time that I insert a roll hope it makes sense
Hey, I was wondering where that tiny little part was supposed to go. Thank you for making this video.
This video was a lifesaver. Thanks!

Anyone know where can I get new price bands for this model? I can't find anything but labels and ink rollers. Thanks
The bands aren't bought individually. You have to buy the entire printing head. It's about normally half the price of the entirely new gun as well.
Do you do the same for the monarch 1115?
