    Great review, thank you! In my state we can have class 3 speeds. How do you manage to get the bike to go over 25 mph as that seemed to be your max speed and Himiway advertises 31mph on their site for this bike. Is there a way to make adjustments to max speeds in the settings per se?

    The Cobra Pro and the Troxus T-Rex seem to be very similar. Do you have any thoughts between these two bikes?

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  9 місяців тому

      We haven't had a chance to test the T-Rex, but they do seem to be very similar. Same drivetrain, same motor, same size battery. We've had good results from both brands, so either choice should be solid.

    I would have loved to have seen this model come with a standard, cabled-in drop-seat post.

    I think the new Nireeka bike would be a little better in many ways. Not battery but most other aspects. Screw off road.. I want a dual suspension bike that goes 35 plus mph for going to work.

  • @user-du7pe6pm7d
    @user-du7pe6pm7d Місяць тому

    Now let me GET THIS straight -- letting the motor do most of the work - you got further miles out of the battery - AND -- would it be the same on road miles would you think - with small hills and such - the dealer near me is telling me it will only get about 30 miles out of full power usage - or even when using partial amounts of power - Wonder what he is doing wrong --

    Your graphic @14:08 is reversed. So basically you can't be in the highest gear when you take off and you can't be in the lowest gear when you're climbing steep hills?! Constantly having to switch to a single gear before a hill climb and remembering to always downshift as you come to a stop and simultaneously switching your pedal assist to a lower setting so one does not damage the cassette due to excessive motor torque on your next launch is going to be a MAJOR pain in the rear end on this mid-drive equipped bike. It's not IF your cassette gets shredded by the motor on a ride, it's WHEN. It's "demonstrated off-road performance" therefore won't mean much when you're dozens of miles out on the desert with no way to get that 88 pound bike home, and not enough water available for you to hoof it safely. I'll take a hub drive bike that avoids those problems any day #HARDPASS

    • @18andlikeit
      @18andlikeit 8 місяців тому +1

      You basically ride a mid drive ebike like you would a regular bike with gears. Do you pick a high gear to go up a hill? No, you use the lower gears to get up a hill. Do you come to a stop in a high gear? No, you'd probably want to down shift before coming to a stop so it's easier to get going again. If it's hard on your legs, it's harder on the motor. It's true that mid drives are a different animal than a hub motor, but mid drives have their place. I have both mid drive and a hub motor ebikes. I like them both for different reasons. I'll agree that the hub motor is probably best for most people since it isn't as picky on your gear choices. But you can't expect your drive train to last very long if you ride a mid drive just like a hub drive.

    • @ElectricBikeReport

      We have the bike in storage at the moment, but if I remember correctly, it should be a double tap on the 'i' button to access the display menu.

    Recently bought a used one in camo, and it is an absolute monster of a bike! Totally outperforms the Quietkat, Rambo and Bakcou comparable models at nearly half the price.
    Would you show a more detailed video on changing the speed settings and pedal assist levels (I have read you can change them from 5 to 9!)? If you limit the speed to 20 MPH, it shows the reduced power max scale down to 750 Watts instead of 1500W, thus making it appear like a Class 2 e-bike.

    wow the pro mid drive really looks great!
    but battery placement is a no go for me.
    I think 1st of it getting dirty, wet, poor location for those reasons
    2nd I think of gravity,wear that over time it "might" fall? then oops a wreck :o
    the rest looks to be great & a useful trail bike. I like the narrow bars to sneak between trees, brush, ect. .
    the tires a bit wide for me. I like the 2.5 on my MTB it does ok. maybe up to 3"?
    is it a major thing to change the tire width?

  • @Benjamin_Jehne
    @Benjamin_Jehne Рік тому +3

    Himiways engineers will have a look into the wearing issue? What a bullshit answer. NO existing bike cassette is made for 160Nm of torque. If you want something that behaves like a motorcycle, buy a motorcycle. Try to combine bike components with a motorcycle like motor and live with the consequences. As easy it is. This motor has more torque than a Hayabusa.

    • @bassw1758
      @bassw1758 Рік тому +1

      The torque numbers with these bikes has always been a joke, if it really put out 160Nm of torque, it would beat a Honda Civic off the line and need a wheelie bar. 😂.
      This bike is no good though because it's just too big and heavy for your typical East Coast Black diamond style mountain trail. But that's kind of what it's being marketed as.

    • @Benjamin_Jehne
      @Benjamin_Jehne Рік тому

      @@hendogoodie Lol, your're the typ of guy who thinks he knows best without having any knowledge about bikes. It's a simple cassette, that wears out at even low torque motors at around 2500miles. Thats a normal wear characteristic of standard bike parts. Himiway does not produce any own parts, it's all standart budget components as all manufactures use. The M620 with it's 160Nm is eating chains and cassettes, but hey, belive what you want. The repairs are around 60-70$ if you do it by yourself. I do this stuff for over 20years and just smlie. Let them figure it out by themself.
      Why I wrote the comment?! I hate it, when reviewers talking marketing bs even if they should know, that there is no solution for this problem. Even more expensive cassettes don't solve the problem as they're just made to be lighter and more precise for competion.

    • @hendogoodie
      @hendogoodie Рік тому

      @@Benjamin_Jehne my comment was actually to the guy who replied to your comment, i Dont disagree with the cassette problem, tho I haven't had that problem yet, for him to say the bike is no good and it's too heavy, that's a subjective opinion especially for someone who hasn't riden 1, I have 1 and it's a beast just no other way to put it

    I have a couple of questions for Himiway e-bike owners:
    1. How are they holding up after long-term use, and
    2. How are the customer service? Are they responsive/good?
    Asking above questions because I am thinking about purchasing D7 Pro, and wanted to do due diligence research. Thank you in advance for your input!
