For 1980ies productions, it's worth having some samples of the Sequential Circuits Drumtraks, too. The LinnDrum was the second version. The first was the Linn LM-1. The LM-1 was used a lot by Prince. There are very good sound demos on youtube.
13:37 the reference pictures are godsend bcs i know most of these instruments in my native language but never stopped to look up all the english names to make the correlations 😭
thank you sir. actually i searched across web trying to find what perc used in Apologize song by OneRepublic. LIke that bunch of rim shots or vibraslap. Now i know it almost certain crab claw - castanet.
thank you for all the content you provide for us guys! However, being a hobby producer, unfortunately all these different steps - especially the sheer amount of plugins being used, there's often frustration and pessimism regarding comparison to other producers. I think I have a good feeling for rhythm (being a drummer for 15 years) and when to place different rhythm parts, adding dynamics etc., but the mix and mastering part...I can't get my head around it..and that makes it pretty hard to continue although it makes so much fun IF not comparing to others :D However, just renting... Will there be a sale on Christmas? Looking forward to purchase some of your drum packs :)
Hey Austin, how is it going man. I really like your videos and one thing I would like to ask (which is totally unrelated to this, sorry) is what do you think of the M-Audio Code. I keep seeing it on your desk and to he honest I would love to get my hands on one but they seem to be fazed out? Are they niftier than the Oxygen Pro ones? Would love to hear your thoughts. Cheers buddy!
@@MakePopMusic Yeah totally... keep up the good work buddy. You guys are keeling it big time. Will get my hands on the sweet tooth pack, sounds dope. Looking forward to more juicy stuff.
it's almost comedic how no musician in the history of history has ever had so much info at their finger tips, and yet .. still end up making the worst music in human history.
Love how you talk about the different use cases of all the sounds while being really comprehensive. Extremely helpful video!

It's fine. A MIDI controller is a MIDI controller to me, tbh. Just grab one that you like and let it rip!

My backshots sound like bongos hit different now
Hahahaha in the video I almost said "alight. Here are bongos. Basically what Cardi b's backshots sound like"
