Some sick work from Jason. Here are some notes from him: For this one I tried to find some examples of the original band live footage as some of Heart’s more recent touring guitarist seem to do their own thing. For the older footage, they just go wild with the harmonics so it was hard to tell exactly what was going on. Fortunately there are interviews with Roger Fisher about the origins of the riff and this super cool technique he does were he basically pinch harmonics multiple open strings making sure the pick scrapes right above the neck pickup. This gives you a really cool sounding effect and you can make it sound like hitting harmonics all over the neck just by adjusting your pick attack. I tried to incorporate that whenever I could. I included both guitars as they definitely weave together to make a pretty intricate sound for a seemingly basic riff. Very cool playing in this one!
@@Giloggthere was a helpful one on that channel. I love that guys passion and how into the details he gets. Awesome guitarist as well. There was another one as well where Roger plays through it. It’s called “an interview with Roger Fisher of Heart - Barracuda”. He’s playing a pink and green guitar and he gets into some fine details. Seems like such a cool dude.
Hello Mr. Tabs, great video!!! Could you upload "Don't You Ever Leave Me" by Hanoi Rocks? I have wanted to learn it for years but I can't, greetings from Argentina
AWESOME! One of my first concerts was Heart on their "Bad Animals" tour. This song was played early on in the set and I think Howard Leese did a short little guitar solo after this song, which was weird to have a guitar solo so early in a concert. I remember at my last job searching for some live Heart online and finding a soundboard recording from that same concert, which was so cool to find. I have it somewhere around here, either burned to a cd or on an old mp3 player. I even met Howard Leese (old school Heart), Mark Andes (80s/90s Heart bass player) and Denny Carmassi (80s/90s Heart drums) after the show in the parking lot, they were all really nice, took the time to sign autographs for everyone, had them sign my concert shirt. The Wilson sisters were having none of that mingling with the common folk, they were whisked right into their awaiting limos by security, lol. Heart was such an amazing live band, they sounded incredible back in the day.
Thanks, I've been working on this the other guitarist in our band, and this will help a lot. Have subscribed and will download your tab, for which I assume you get remunerated.
Fantastic! Thank you so much! Also, these 70s Heart bangers sound soooooo good - before the loudness wars killed nuance and dynamics. Not that there isn't great music being made today, just harder to find!
Crazy. Is this in the latest issue or has it been out a while? Are you able to send me a picture of the article, I’d really like to see it 😊. Thanks a lot for your comment and support 🙏
Thanks! For all tones and effects I use software called Amplitube Max. This software contains many virtual amps and pedals. The plug-ins are available to all my Patreon subscribers so you that if you have Amplitube Max yourself, you can get exactly the same tone as me at home. I also offer screenshots of the virtual amps and pedals so that if you don’t have Amplitube you can attempt to replicate the tone using whatever equipment you have available. I’m going to the to say the Purple Charvel. It’s just the perfect guitar for me. I think my Les Paul has a fuller and more aggressive tone, but overall, the Charvel would be my favorite because of the playability and the fact it still has a killer tone
@@jasonsheppard7428I’ve been looking at a couple Charvel’s recently. I want something with a relatively thin neck. Would you say yours fits that description?
@@jasonsheppard7428 Hi Jason, Thanks for doing all these collaborations! You serve as an inspiration for guitarists like me with your technique. Just out of curiosity, for the interviews do you mean the one that Mike from The-Art-of-Guitar conducted with Roger Fisher?
