      Alex, not just some random reliever here in San Diego as he went to one of our local high schools, Cathedral Catholic High School. His senior year he was 9 & 1 with a 0.53 ERA. We know him & root for him as a local star now playing in the Show.

      Fr most pitchers would’ve missed or hit a soft ground ball, but he stayed with it and in the slow mo it shows how he really just saw it all the way and was able to catch up to the baseball. Pitchers can take too!!!

      Actually it was a bad pitch as in, Max did not want that location. On pretty much any left handed hitter, down and in is a bad location as most leftys have a natural golf shot swing. But like i said, max didn't want to go down and in, he was trying to go away as pretty much the whole at bat he was throwing down and away.

If you actually listen to the interview with him you'll understand why, this guy's been in the minors for 11 years and his brother has been with him on his entire journey. This was a truly amazing thing to watch live.

    Amazing. Simply amazing. Daniel was a 20 round pick out of HighSchool in 2011. The ups and downs, released by different organizations at least 4 times, crappy hotels, bus rides, food, wondering all the while if he would ever get his chance during 11 long years in the minors. You can tell he’s been through the grind of the minors by the humility he showed during the post game interview. Bravo Daniel!

    I am Japanese. I learned about Padres because Darvish was enrolled. It's a very exciting team and one of my favorite teams in MLB. Darvish in this match was a disappointing result, but Tatis's No. 28 home run and pitcher's Grand Slam changed the course and made a comeback. It's a very fun and nice match. But it seems that the American League has a top pitcher in the league for home runs.

    My now boyfriend and I watched this game together over the voice chat because he was trying to get into baseball and wanted someone to watch with who was more familiar with the game. It was one of the first baseball games he had seen and it was an absolutely incredible moment to catch "live" via stream.

      Big league pitchers are generally stand out athletes when they come up through the ranks, and excel at all aspects of the game. I think in the minors that they start to lose their hitting because they focus solely on pitching.
      I haven't looked up this guy's history, but perhaps he was just green enough to still have his bat skills. Good for him.

      I've noticed that oo, attendance has been increasing and becoming exciting since they changed their logo and colours from the boring blue to yellow/brown. Sadly it will be hard to reach playoffs in that division

    I just saw El Paso play the Albuquerque Isotopes last weekend. Can't even imagine what it feels like to go from that tiny stadium with a few thousand fans, to lighting up the whole Padres stadium. And seeing his family's reaction? Baseball's got me crying again :')

    This was probably the best Padres game I've ever been to. The stadium went wild when this kid tagged it to deep right field. Grand Slam on his second at bat in the big league's. Are you kidding me? Mad Max threw him a nasty pitch and he roped it. The San Diego boy delivers. What a game!

    I cry every time I watch this video. I get so happy and proud for Daniel Camarena, who I don't even know. I was watching the game and saw them talking with his father. Camarena's story is really touching and I'm glad he'll always have this amazing memory.

      Don Orsillo is a great broadcaster. He used to broadcast the Red Sox games and now does Padres game. He also did some announcing for TBS during the LDS and LCS. I’m still salty Don was let go by the Sox.

      Actually a horrible pitch to a left hander. Elevate that fastball and blow it by the pitcher who's never seen ML pitches before. Down and in to a LH is almost always their hot zone. Max is a HOFer but he does tend to give up the HR, but not usually to the new arm in the bullpen.
